Under Escape II sapphire crystal dome lays a fascinating mechanism
featuring a double Spherion. The Spherion’s inner cage housing the
balance wheel makes a full revolution in just 8 seconds, the second cage
completes its revolution in 16 seconds, while the outer cage rotates in
30 seconds, which makes it the fastest triple axis tourbillon in the world !
In addition to all, a rare and particularly seductive Icy blue finishes

The manufacture of our Tourbillon timepieces and the inherent extreme
demands of their assembly, testing, and regulation does not permit
volume driven production. Thus, Cecil Purnell
is the choice of purists, the detail oriented, for whom, beyond the joy
of acquiring a watch, is the engagement in an adventure in time.
In the early twentieth-century Cecil Purnell settled in the French Jura, more specifically, Besançon. An insatiable man of taste, he became fascinated by the intricacy of mechanical movements. Thenceforth began a lifelong quest in the pursuit of an ever-higher appreciation for that which gave life to his imagination. Tourbillon was the heart of this movement.
Jonathan Purnell
Since early childhood, Jonathan Purnell, fascinated by his grandfather’s timekeeping, began dismantling and reconstructing watches. Sharing the watchmaking passion with the same enthusiasm as his grandfather, Jonathan immersed himself in the industry. He made his debut with the most-renown names in high-end watchmaking, travelling the world for 30 years in search of knowledgeable watch fans, well-informed collectors, and avid aficionados. He deepened his knowledge and appreciation for storied and master-class mechanical timepieces, with many passing through his hands. His address book contained the names of prestigious families and men of power. It was such that he would pursue his dream of realizing the movement that had impassioned and inspired his grandfather, and seek to leave his mark on Haute Horlogerie.
A key alliance
In the footsteps of his grandfather, Jonathan Purnell embarks on the incredible challenge of standing alongside the hallmarks of high-end watchmaking by putting his stamp on the Tourbillon watch. The dream starts to bear fruit when he crosses paths with Stephane Valsamides. Full of purist watch-making visions, Stephane Valsamides also is a connoisseur of fine watches and the business of exceptional high complication timepieces. On behalf of a number of famous names, he has traveled the world, inevitably crossing paths with Jonathan Purnell. His fascination for “old-world” craftsmanship and the pursuit of perfection led him to share Jonathan’s passion, and he decided to take on a new set of challenges. Cofounder of Cecil Purnell, he has co-written the brand’s enduring story and its quest for excellence, helping to realize the dream of imprinting the true stamp of quality signified by the arrival of the CP 3000 calibers.

In the spirit of Tourbillons, the Bi-Axial mechanism precisely compensates for influences due to gravity. Its optimal frequency is achieved in rapid movement, mesmerizingly visible on the dial. The World Time is displayed in a spectacular and ingenious way on a half sphere.

The hemisphere makes one revolution in 24 hours and allows one to know the time with the indication of terrestrial hours engraved around its perimeter. The realization of the World Map in a half sphere required perfect mastery of its spatial geometry with several crafts required. Complementing the World Time is the indication of the horizon, displayed by a Spherical Eccentric rotor.
