In line with the brands commitment to ultimate durability and exceptional quality, Bremont explores a new bronze alloy for its Terra Nova collection. The series of contemporary field watches, with their unique, geometric cushion-shaped case, low profile, and shortened lugs, was introduced in 2024 in resilient 904L steel. For 2025, the British brand introduces three new references in a bronze, high-strength cupro-aluminium alloy.
Traditionally associated with the nautical realm, bronze equally excels on dry land, the domain of the Terra Nova. Cupro-aluminium is a highly qualitative bronze alloy and, following the introduction of superior 904L steel to Terra Nova in 2024, further demonstrates Bremont’s dedication to using the best possible materials to create rugged, tough, and highly durable precision timepieces.
Bronze, but not as you know
Bremont is first and foremost a manufacturer of robust and rugged tool watches, therefore, implementing a particular material always and only happens if it makes functional sense. Cupro-aluminium was selected due to the alloy’s strength, durability, and versatility. It can be easily cast and shaped into intricate designs, crucial for creating the high-quality Terra Nova two-piece watch case with its sophisticated and detailed design.
The alloy also has a higher tensile strength than other types of bronze due to the strengthening effects of aluminium and silicon. This makes the material more durable and able to withstand the wear and tear of being worn on the wrist.

Cupro-Aluminium boasts several additional advantages. First, its
aluminium and silicon composition ensures it is hypoallergenic, and is
more resistant to scratches than traditional bronze, helping to maintain
its appearance over time.
While slightly lighter than conventional steel and bronze, every gram counts when it comes to wristwatches. Aesthetically, Cupro-Aluminium offers a unique visual appeal with a soft golden tone and a warm reddish hue. Unlike traditional bronze, it develops a gradual and even patina, avoiding the uneven green or black discoloration, resulting in a subtle, controlled transformation over time.
The unique properties of the bronze alloy will transform each of the three new Terra Nova Bronze iterations into highly personal timepieces. Each individual watch will age and patina differently. The high-tech bronze alloy seems alive and will age within three months, doing so very softly and subtly, resulting in an appearance with a subtly distressed look and feel.
Three new bronze references
Inspired by early 20th-century trench watches, the Terra Nova Jumping Hour Bronze brings together vintage military styling and contemporary watchmaking innovation. Its compact 38mm cushion-shaped case is crafted from vertically brushed cupro-aluminium bronze, a high-performance alloy known for its strength and ability to develop a rich, even patina over time.
At its core is the exclusive BC634 Jumping Hour calibre. This rare complication displays the hours, minutes and seconds through crisp, linear apertures in the montre à guichet style. A compass-inspired sweeping seconds hand overlays the central Wayfinder logo, reinforcing the watch’s connection to navigation and exploration.
Limited to just 100 pieces, this special edition is offered with either a brushed bronze bracelet or a vintage-style tan leather strap. Compact, precise, and rich with character, it’s a collector’s piece built for life in the field.
