The new Teutonia IV Moonphase GOLD

German watch brand Mühle-Glashütte presents a limited edition 18 carat yellow gold version of the Teutonia IV Moonphase watch. Gold is a truly heavenly material. And that in the truest sense of the word! Because its origin is not on our planet. To create gold, it requires the fusion of two stars. Thrown into space, it reached us shortly after the formation of our earth and its moon. So there is probably no more beautiful material for a watch with moon phase display.

Gold is an absolutely heavenly material – in the truest sense of the word! Because the origin of the coveted precious metal is not on our planet, such as diamonds or other precious stones. The energy required for it is not available on earth or in the sun. To create gold, it requires the fusion of two highly energetic stars.

Thrown into space in the process, it finally reached the sun, our moon or the earth millions of years ago. Thus, a case made of 18-carat yellow gold provides the ideal setting for the moon phase display of the new Teutonia IV Moonphase GOLD. With a diameter of 41 millimeters, it is perfectly sized to hold a full 47 grams of fine gold.

Noble material. Finest finish

As it is typical for the Teutonia, the middle part of the gold case has a vertical graining that is applied by hand. The tops of the volute-shaped horns, on the other hand, are finely polished and present themselves in beautiful harmony with the straight-lined bezel of the Teutonia IV watch family.

The shining yellow gold case is complemented by its contrast with the matt black dial. Against the night sky inspired dial surface, applied and gold-plated indices sparkle like shooting stars, reflecting the case material just like the gold-plated lance-shaped hands.

With their perfectly coordinated length, these hands point the way to yet more gold: in the clearly marked minute graduation with gold-coloured second and minute numerals.

The noble case can particularly shine in combination with the black dial of the Teutonia IV Moonphase GOLD.

On this dial, it finds sparkling golden counterparts not only in the applied indices, but also in the lancet-shaped hands for hour, minute and second. Their lengths are perfectly matched to the clearly drawn minute track with gold-colored seconds and minutes numerals.

Magic complication. Realistic representation

At six o’clock, the gold-colored moon appears on the black dial as if from the depths of space. Under the specially shaped window of the dial, a moon disk measuring around ten millimeters rotates once around itself in 59 days. The golden image of the moon appears twice on it.

In this way, the lunation lasting around 29.5 days from new moon to full moon to new moon can be displayed in one-day increments. The moon itself is displayed very realistically. This is because its small and large craters were imitated in detail when designing the lunar disk.

This timepiece is powered by a reliable SW 280-1 Mühle version automatic movement, fitted with a shockproof woodpecker neck fine regulation, the matching balance cock and an efficient Mühle rotor. Once its components have been carefully finished and assembled, the movement is put to the test in six different positions and set to achieve accuracy values of between 0 and a maximum of +8 seconds per day.
