The watch is a chronograph version of the famous anti-magnetic Scientigraf model launched in 1961, whose technical and aesthetic characteristics are enhanced by the presence of two counters.

The chronograph, like the "time only" version, is distinguished by the presence of a "Faraday cage" contained in the case: a structure made of soft iron that absorbs the electromagnetic waves of devices that are now ubiquitous in everyday life, thus protecting the movement of the watch, whose precision characteristics are not affected.

From an aesthetic point of view, the Scientigraf Chrono retains its retro appeal: on the black dial, the two counters stand out (decorated with a refined azuré finish) and the triangle element, which appears in many details (such as the hour markers, proposed in ivory or orange, or the tips of the hour and counter hands).

 The 41 mm steel case, which contains the Faraday cage, alternates between polished and satin-brushed finishes, while the screw-locked case-back bears the original design of the model launched in 1961, with the logo and inscription recalling the anti-magnetic tests carried out at the time in the dedicated facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

1892: Tazio Nuvolari is born, the greatest driver of all time, an example of dedication, commitment and strong passion in the automotive world. A pioneer of racing to which Eberhard & Co. dedicated an important collection of chronographs on the occasion of his birth’s centenary.

There are some people in the history of sport that cannot be defined merely as ‘champions’. When they exceed the limits set by their time and enter the superhuman ‘Hall of Fame’ of those who have broken all barriers by crossing the line of the inconceivable, it is then that they undergo the natural progression that turns them into legends. Tazio Nuvolari, the champion driver who dominated the decades between 1920 and the late forties, is quite obviously such a sportsman.

When, almost 30 years ago, Eberhard & Co. decided to celebrate his enterprises by creating a collection that bears his name, the figure of Tazio had become shrouded by the mists of time and all that had happened in the world of motoring since his era. It is also because of the efforts of the famous Swiss Maison and the success of the ‘Tazio Nuvolari’ collection that this mist has lifted.

In the past few decades, the impetuous, at times overbearing personality of a man who made his passion for sport a reason for living, placing it above all else, even above himself and those closest to him, has been brought to light. His story has inspired a great number of initiatives; books have been written, songs have been dedicated to him, and the great old-timers event that bears his name brings hundreds of fans from all over the world to his homeland every year. All this has ensured that the fame he deserves, that of being the greatest racing driver ever, lives on today.

The Tazio Nuvolari collection mainly consists of sports watches, and many versions have been added to it over the years. Some of these have been inspired by great victories or enterprises realized by the champion. The latest, Nuvolari GOLD CAR, seeks to celebrate the essence of the man and of the sportsman, consecrating him among those who will never be forgotten.

 

IN CELEBRATION OF THE 130TH ANNIVERSARY

2022: on the 130th birth anniversary of the "Flying Mantuan", Eberhard & Co. pays tribute with a new chronograph, featuring a 41 mm steel case offered in two dial versions, both enhanced by a “frappé helical” motif.

The bezel shows the typical “perlage” finishing and engraving of the scale in miles. The watch is enriched by the carapace that contains the initials "TN" and by details in yellow, the champion's lucky color.

Nuvolari GOLD CAR is an automatic timepiece with a steel case 41 mm version. The model is water resistant down to a depth of 50m. and features a black dial with luminescent Arabic numerals, a minutes counter at 12 o’clock, a hours counter at 6 o’clock and a spiral tachometer scale in km/hr in the centre.

The movement can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal base, which is secured by eight screws, decorated with a ‘chessboard’ image designed to look like the race-start flag, and customised with the historic stylised Alfa Romeo Type 12C in which the great driver obtained many victories.

Available with a closed steel bottom or in the GOLD CAR Collection version with view on the movement. The Tazio Nuvolari chronograph is offered with a grey vintage leather strap, with yellow stitching.

After the launch of the first two models (water resistant down to 100 and 200 metres respectively), the SCAFOGRAF 300 version and its evolutions followed, managing to create a timepiece able to withstand a depth of 1000 metres.

In 2016, driven forward by its desire for constant research and innovation, Eberhard & co. designed a re-issue of the SCAFOGRAF 300, a modern re-elaboration which, that very year, went on to win the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the most coveted prize in fine watchmaking.

And so today … the SCAFOGRAF 300 "MCMLIX" edition, a diving watch, with the name itself, through the transcription in Roman numerals, evoking the year of its original launch, and boasting a galbe dial in blue, Eberhard & Co.’s signature colour, with matt finish and indexes and hands featuring a ‘vintage’ luminescence. The self-winding mechanical movement is housed within a 43 mm diameter steel case, with convex sapphire crystal and automatic helium escape valve at 9 o’clock.

The unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel, also in blue, has ‘vintage’ luminescence on the first quarter of the minute scale.

The screw back is decorated with a starfish, the emblem of the collection. The water-repellent leather strap enhances the casual-chic look of the watch and features blue stitching, similarly evoking the rich blue tone of the dial.

The chronograph dedicated to Zagor, issued in a limited edition of only 120 numbered pieces, celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Spirit with the Tomahawk. A unique timepiece, with a self-winding mechanical movement, the watch embodies the principal characteristics of the mythical character.

The gray dial is customised with his symbol, the Thunder Bird, inserted within the continuous seconds counter, and a "Zagor 60" celebratory logo. The 42.8 mm diametre case is made of steel with polished and satin finishings.

Blazing the trail for oversized cases in the 1990s and still one of watchmaking lovers’ favourite models, Traversetolo is about to show off a new look. The painstaking attention dedicated to the dials is one of the strengths of this model, whose large case showcases the constructions from the Swiss tradition.

The new Traversetolo flaunts an original look of intense green with a black reflection, a colour that is as sober as it is unusual. The green colour, always a symbol of hope, rebirth and force of nature, was not chosen by chance. Eberhard & Co. has further strengthened its bond with historic Italian brand Alfa Romeo. In the wake of the success of the Quadrifoglio Verde model in 2019, the Maison has created a new limited edition chronograph to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the car manufacturer.

With a design encapsulating the technical and stylistic mastery that defines all Eberhard & Co. products, this unique timepiece expresses both sporty vibes and great allure, just like Alfa Romeo’s “Biscione” cars.

The Eberhard & Co. 110th Alfa Romeo Anniversary chronograph has a 42 mm steel case. Sporty yet refined, the case houses the automatic chronograph movement and three counters. The reset function with coaxial push button is on the crown at 3 o’clock. Water resistant to 30 metres, the piece has a flat sapphire glass caseback, which is personalised with engravings and the Alfa Romeo logo, and closed with 6 screws.

The tachymeter scale embraces the white dial – inspired by the world of automobiles – which features a raised engraving of the new Alfa Romeo celebratory logo (featuring two number “1” that follow a perspective line which represents the transition from past to present, culminating in the number “0”, inside which is a Biscione) to emphasise the historic landmark. The watch is available with a grey rubberised fabric strap.
