On the heels of 2024’s white-hot DOXA collaborative edition, Burlingame-based luxury watch retailer Topper Jewelers has unveiled its latest DOXA limited edition in the Topper-exclusive ‘Great White’ livery: the SUB 250T GMT, once again inspired by the Great White Shark which inhabits Northern California’s nearby Gulf of the Farallones in the Pacific Ocean.

Jutting out of this gulf are the Farallon Islands – a series of rocky sea stacks and islands shrouded in mystery and maritime lore, which are just barely visible from the westward-facing San Francisco shoreline. Nicknamed “the Devil’s Teeth,” these islands are teeming with birds, marine mammals, and a thriving population of Great White Sharks.

Now, with its multi timezone tracking, this adventure-ready DOXA SUB 250T GMT pays tribute to those who endeavour to explore such far-flung shores, while its white and blue livery continues the traditions of past Topper Editions, evoking the dark navy blue of the Pacific and the white of the apex predators which call these waters home.

New to this Great White edition, is a custom engraving on the caseback which depicts the San Francisco Bay Area, relative to the Gulf of the Farallones. However, just like its 2024 predecessor, the high-contrast dial of this SUB is once again fully luminous, glowing bright blue in low light.

This ‘Great White’ Topper Edition is built around the DOXA SUB 250T GMT platform introduced at Geneva Watch Week 2025. Compact and highly capable, this new 40mm SUB is powered by a Swiss-made automatic movement which retains the ability to track two time zones simultaneously. In keeping with the 2024 Great White design language, this Limited Edition is once again presented as a no-date execution to preserve the SUB’s unique dial asymmetry and maximize its luminous signature in the dark.

Also present is DOXA’s signature unidirectional rotating bezel, with its deep sawtooth edges and dual engravings, enabling a diver to calculate both elapsed dive time and “no-stop” decompression dive times in accordance with US Navy diving tables. These engravings are finished in navy blue lacquer to match the hour markers on the dial. The watch is finished with an AR-coated, flat sapphire crystal, in homage to DOXA’s 1968 original.

 Once again, Topper will donate a portion of the proceeds of this DOXA SUB to the Greater Farallons Association, a nonprofit organization which aims to continue critical work restoring and enhancing coastal habitats while protecting marine life in Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, an area of 3,295 square miles off the northern and central California coast.

The waters within Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary are a nationally significant marine ecosystem, and one of the most diverse and bountiful marine environments in the world which supports an abundance of life above and below the ocean’s surface, including many threatened and endangered species.

This SUB 250T GMT ‘Great White’ Topper Edition will be supplied on DOXA’s iconic ‘beads of rice’ stainless steel bracelet, which is fitted with a foldout extension, making it suitable for easy fitment over a wetsuit. Included in the special box set will be an additional integrated navy blue FKM rubber strap on DOXA’s stainless steel folding clasp.

SUB 300 – DOXA’s iconic diver

In 1967, DOXA launched the then-revolutionary SUB concept, regarded as the first true professional diving watch made accessible to the general public. The groundbreaking innovations it introduced quickly made it the go-to tool watch even for uncompromising professionals.

 Back then, the SUB 300 was a 30 ATM (300 meters) water-resistant watch that, for the first time, incorporated a unidirectional bezel with a dual scale for dive time and depth. The US Navy's no-decompression dive table, allowing divers to monitor their time underwater relative to depth to ensure a safe return to the surface, had established itself as the definitive reference.

Inspired by the Navy’s model, the engineers at DOXA devised two distinct scales on the bezel — an orange outer ring indicating depth and a black inner ring indicating minutes — which enabled divers to calculate their dive times and thus ensure a safe ascent without decompression stops. It became a DOXA patent.

This watch quickly became a legend, easily recognizable for its bright orange dial: the bold – and practical color choice was also a first on a diver’s watch, contrasting with the traditional black, gray, or white dials of the era.

Starting in 1968, the SUB 300 was worn by the divers of the Calypso who took millions of viewers along on the legendary missions to explore The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.

Commander Jacques-Yves Cousteau, co-inventor of the modern scuba regulator and spiritual father of modern diving, so valued the SUB 300 that he negotiated exclusive distribution rights for the United States.

More than 50 years after the legend was born, the SUB 300 in carbon remains true to its origins while cultivating an edgier, more technical, but also more urban look and feel. It takes the legend into the future, with a high-performance construction that puts an advanced lightweight material at the service of function.

The SUB 300 Carbon Seafoam Limited Edition is presented with a sunray-finished dial in a soft-pastel Seafoam-green hue that is exclusive to The Watches of Switzerland Group.

The case back is engraved with the Watches of Switzerland logo and the individual watch number out of the 100 limited-edition pieces. Included in the matching green box, alongside the black FKM rubber strap is a Seafoam NATO strap in the same color as the exclusive dial.

With a diameter of 42.5 mm, the carbon SUB 300 features a pressure-resistant titanium casing to protect the movement and a screw-down crown. It is rated to 300 meters, equivalent to approximately 980 feet.

Precision, robustness, reliability – the SUB 300’s automatic three-hand movement holds the prestigious COSC Certified Chronometer certification guaranteeing all three. It also provides a 38-hour power reserve. The date window is positioned at 3 o'clock.

The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment is domed: a tribute to its heritage and the curved plexiglass of the very first SUB 300. All dive-related markings have a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating to ensure optimum legibility even in low-visibility conditions.

Featuring distinctive DOXA cues on both sides, the black rubber strap is fitted with a black PVD-treated folding clasp decorated with the exclusive DOXA fish symbol. It also has an adjustable diving extension to accommodate the thickness of a wetsuit.
