Housed for the first time in a Curvex CX case, the iconic Giga Tourbillon has been fully redesigned with a completely new movement. Embracing a breathtaking 20 mm Tourbillon that occupies half of the skeleton dial, the Curvex CX Giga Tourbillon is the perfect translation of a masterpiece.

For this unique timepiece, all the components were rethought, redesigned and remanufactured to create an exceptional masterpiece. To meet the technical challenges that come with such a large tourbillon, Franck Muller had to demonstrate ingenuity, great expertise and exceptional horological technique.

The tourbillon, the barrels and the power reserve counter are placed above the dial to create a mesmerizing depth effect. In order to lighten the tourbillon cage, materials such as titanium are used to reduce inertia and ensure the reliability of the timepiece.

To highlight all the mechanical elements of the timepiece, the skeletonized movement is placed above a breathtaking dial which allows a clear distinction of the barrels and tourbillon cage. A sunray brushing decoration on the dial brings additional luminosity and reflection to the timepiece, thanks to several layers of lacquer.

In addition to the traditional dial on the front, the Curvex CX Giga Tourbillon also showcases two other dials. The second dial is placed under the balance wheel to highlight the heart of this timepiece: the Giga Tourbillon.

The third dial is placed on the back of the timepiece and features an aperture allowing visibility of the central wheel and third wheel. A beautiful artistic drawing of the movement, is then added on the back dial.

This timepiece has been designed with four barrels to ensure sufficient power to drive the geartrain and its massive tourbillon. In comparison, traditional tourbillons generally are powered by only one or two barrels. This results in 4 days of power reserve, visible with a counter placed at 12 o’clock.
