Few watches in the Oris collection epitomise Oris’s profound respect for the Swiss watchmaking tradition like the Artelier Complication, a mechanical watch that displays the day and the date, the phase of the moon, and a second time zone. Now, for the first time, Oris has created a contemporary version of this classical watch that combines a stainless steel case and bezel with rose gold-plated hands and hour markers.
Aesthetically, the Artelier is one of Oris’s most versatile lines. While it’s designed with ‘everyday’ wear in mind, ti can also be dressy, as this model perfectly demonstrates. Its elegant 40.5mm stainless steel case makes it sophisticated but modest in a work context, while its rose gold-plated accents mean it’s also confident slipping out from under the cuff of a dinner jacket. On top of that, its 24-hour second time zone makes it the perfect business traveller’s timepiece.

The Artelier Complication is a significant watch in the Oris story. During the 1980s and 1990s, Oris invested heavily in developing modules that would deliver watches with classical, but useful functions. The moon phase module developed by Oris’s watchmakers in the late 1980s was one of the most technically advanced of these, and inspired Calibre 582, which powers today’s Artelier Complication. The success of those modules paved the way for Calibres 111 and 112, the two in-house developed movements currently leading Oris’s watchmaking revival.

Oris is also committed to delivering the best possible watch at the best possible price, a mantra formed by the company’s founders in 1904 and passed down through the generations. Behind every Oris watch is a combination of industrial manufacturing techniques and the hand of the skilled watchmaker. As a signpost to Oris’s watchmaking philosophy, the Artelier Complication has a silver guilloché dial, a traditional finish that creates an eye-catching pattern, giving the watch its luxurious feel.

This uncompromising approach has enabled Oris to consistently deliver the Artelier Complication at a reasonable price, despite the sophistication of the mechanics inside it. This latest addition is available now, priced CHF 1,900.
