The GR8 MAXSPOR Case is made of grade 5 titanium too, a biocompatible, highly corrosion-resistant and remarkably rigid alloy, which enables the gear train to function effortlessly.

The alloy is 90% grade 5 titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. This combination further increases the material’s mechanical properties, which explains its frequent use in very exigent areas like the aerospace, aeronautics and automotive industries.

Discreet in appearance, La Loupe reveals all the poetry of time, thanks to an unprecedented interplay between the hour and the minute, sublimated by a diamond.

A pure, refined design

With a diameter of 38 mm, La Loupe's round 18-carat gold case subtly combines two finishes: a delicate bead-blasting that underlines the purity of its shapes, and a captivating mirror polish that elegantly reflects the light. Its discreet lugs blend harmoniously into the overall design, highlighting the perfect balance between aesthetic refinement and comfort when worn.

The time revealed by a diamond

Unlike traditional timepieces, La Loupe uses a single hand dedicated to the minutes. The hours are indicated by a diamond set on a disc, moving along the circumference of the dial.

As the hand moves, the diamond becomes the sole time marker: each time the circular hand and the diamond are superimposed, the current time is “magnified”, as if we were observing time through a magnifying glass.

The magic of superposition

This subtle mechanical choreography takes place at an unchanging frequency:
The minute hand moves at a rate of 6° per minute, while the diamond-bearing disc (assimilated to the hour hand) moves at a rate of 0.5° per minute.

The angular deviation is thus cancelled out every 65 minutes and 27 seconds, revealing perfect alignment. Thus, in a 12-hour period, this encounter is repeated 11 times, illustrating the fascinating regularity of traditional watchmaking.

A feat of haute horlogerie

Beneath its apparent simplicity, La Loupe conceals a real technical challenge: the perfect flatness of the hour disc, delicately placed on the corresponding wheel. Unlike a conventional hand, this disc requires remarkable balance and stability, both to preserve visual harmony and to ensure the flawless fluidity of the mechanism. This singular design testifies to the watchmaking mastery that characterizes every detail of La Loupe.

The name KERBEDANZ derives from the patronymic of the Brand’s founding President Tigran Karabedyan.

Paying a tribute to his ancestor, he gives to his company the name KERBEDANZ which means “the heirs of Karabed” (Karabed meaning Precursor/Leader), both qualifiers being perfectly adapted to KERBEDANZ which is a precursor with its concept of specific products’ value. By the way, Kerbedanz appears as a Leader regarding its very unique watch models - or very limited series - dedicated to a very exclusive clientele well known in their activities.

 History

The ancestor of Tigran Karabedyan was a renowned goldsmith with wonderful skills to work the metal. He had acquired a great notoriety in the entire region where he exercised his art and was regularly sought to repair failing clocks as well. His fame is not only because of his competence. Indeed he was a good man, humble, generous, devoted to his family, and faithful to his friends. His highly professional skills and knowledge gave him not only a comfortable life but also the consideration and the respect of his surroundings.
Anxious to transfer the legacy of his ancestor and in the respect for the ethical values which had marked his life and works, Tigran Karabedyan decides to create his own watch brand and to locate it in Switzerland, in the city of Neuchâtel, the ancestral cradle of the Swiss watch industry.
The KERBEDANZ watches have a dual heritage: the know-how of the ancestral watchmaking and the ethic value cultivated by a man fair and straight, highly self-demanding in his professional commitment and in his life as well.
Through its product policy - concept, manufacturing and high quality finishing - the excellence of its network and overall the respect dedicated to its Clients, KERBEDANZ will fully reflect these ethical values.
