The new Meister Chronoscope by Junghans convinces

In its design, the classic elegance of the Meister line meets the sporty dynamics of a chronograph and a stylish expression in colour and shape.

With its slim bezel, the curved watch case directs the focus entirely on the design of the circular brush dial. Thanks to its intriguing three-dimensionality, it unfolds nuances of delicate grey to cool blue, depending on the lighting – defining the clean modernity of the watch. The athleticism of the chronograph finds expression in the bowl-shaped totalisers.

In subdued orange, the counter hands emphasise the sportiness of the Meister Chronoscope and, together with the mahogany brown leather strap, create a wonderfully harmonious colour composition. Made from particularly soft and lightweight ostrich leather, each strap bears an unmistakable texture.

Expressive in design. Powerful in equipment.

Character is not only shown by external values, but above all by internal ones: In addition to the stop function, the mechanical movement visible through the ergonomically shaped case back also has a date and weekday display. Together with resilient sapphire crystal and water resistance up to 5 bar, the Meister Chronoscope is a reliable companion for its wearer – anytime, anywhere.

A functional design, its harmonious colour scheme, and the convincing combination of sportiness and aesthetics: The identity of the Meister Chronoscope is created by the sum of its characteristics. With it, personality begins on the wrist.

Junghans – Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau Edition

JunghansMeister Chronoscope Terrassenbau Edition

Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau:
the anniversary watch

A mirror of history: to mark the centenary of the architectural master-piece by Philipp Jakob Manz, Junghans presents the limited Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The terrace building in Schramberg is one of the most spectacular industrial buildings worldwide to be built on a sloping site. At the beginning of the 20th century Junghans was the largest clock manufacturer in the world: demand for Junghans timepieces was so great that there was an increasing requirement for workplaces in the already cramped valley in Schramberg. The nine-stepped terrace building was built directly on the slope, in less than two years.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

As a result, from 1918 onwards each watchmaker could benefit from direct daylight at the workplace. For decades, the building was the centrepiece of the Junghans factory. In the heyday of mechanical move-ments in the 50s and 60s in particular, numerous calibres were developed in Schramberg. Com-ponents were manufactured in the building to the front of the site, with calibre and watch as-sembly in the terrace building. The top floor was reserved for work that called for the utmost concentration, time and absolute dedication from the watchmakers: the assembly and regulation of chronometers.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

2018 sees the monument of industrial architecture celebrate its 100th birthday, with 100 years of architectural history commemorated with a very special timepiece – the limited edition Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau.

With a limited edition of 100 pieces, the Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau features a 18-kt. gold case. Inspiration for the champagne-coloured dial with the three matt silver totalisers were the stair-ways of the terrace building, which are in beige and white.

The stainless steel version is limited to 1,000 watches and has a matt silver-plated dial.

Both models incorporate the distinctive elements of the industrial monument in Schramberg into their design: the minute track of the dial reflects the meandering design of the wall decorations in the terrace building, whilst the dark green of the wall tiles in the stairways can be found in the alligator leather strap. The case back delivers a direct view of the architectural work: an engraved image of the terrace building.

The Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau – a masterful timepiece as homage to an architectural masterpiece.

The Junghans Meister range: inspiration from tradition

Meister – a label that stands for an entire Junghans watch range. The balanced design of the dial with its harmonious proportions has been a characteristic of the Meister line since the 1930s, together with the best movements produced at the company. In the 1950s the watch designers addressed the challenge of reducing the volumes of the watch and creating intricate timepieces, despite the relatively high movement.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The steeply domed glasses and dials in combination with thin-walled cases lent the watches a new, elegant and graceful look. During this time Junghans was also producing numerous mechanical calibres, such as the chronometer calibre J83, one of the finest movements to be manufactured in Germany.

The design of the Meister collection con-tinues to delight with the grace of its historical predecessors to this day. The models are an homage to the design philosophy and technical achievements of that era. Modern technology, exciting proportions and elegant lines are still features of these Junghans classics today.

Distinctive, reliable, durable – the new
Meister Pilot with DLC coat-ing.

Ready for action at any time

Difficult weather conditions and bumpy runways demand the best from aircraft and pilot. Man and machine need to demonstrate their abilities in these difficult situations, with top performance required in the cockpit even under tricky circumstances.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The pilot needs to be able to rely on his plane - and on his watch, every second. Like an aircraft, the Meister Pilot is now also protected against external influences with a special coating. Making it even more resistant and durable in use.

A pilot watch with tradition

Junghans has given the 2016 Meister Pilot an even more robust surface finish, making it more distinctive than ever.

The DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating is in a class of its own: the dark anthracite colour lends the watch its unique appearance, with the material itself offering optimal protection against scratches and making the Meister Pilot a dependable co-pilot.

The new timepiece adheres firmly to the tradition of pilot watches at Junghans: the legendary chronograph of 1955 was issued to the then newly-formed Bundeswehr.

The instrument-styled dial with its large numerals offers optimal legibility, as is also required for on-board clocks. Matt surfaces and the anti-reflection coated (both sides) sapphire crystal serve to keep light reflection to a minimum, including when flying at night, whilst the intensive white luminous material keeps the time display in focus.

The Meister Pilot is powered by a dependable automatic calibre, which grants the timepiece its independence – and the pilot the security that he requires of a co-pilot.

Junghans – Meister Driver Automatic

JUNGHANSMeister Driver Automatic

A watch for gentlemen

The new Meister Driver Automatic allows a journey in time, to when car travel was still a stylish adventure.

Reminder of a golden age

A very special atmosphere prevails in the evening, when the drivers gather in the country house. In the venerable library and comfortable lounge the drivers dis-cuss the challenges of the race track. The cars that they have pushed to their limits that day stand in the driveway.

Click, to see the large size. FOTO

British Racing Green is the predominant colour. It symbolises the historic sportiness of the racing cars like no other. It is these automobiles, with their traditional colours, that served as models for the design of the new Meister Driver Automatic – and bring this era back to life.

Sophisticated nostalgia

The new Meister Driver Automatic embodies the age when car driving was the preserve of the adventure-loving gentleman – with a leather cap and driving gog-gles.

The gold-coloured case in combination with the traditional colours green and brown lends a particular class to the timepiece. The large minute markers on the dial stand out clearly.

The grand, rectangular minute digits replace the familiar hour markers, becoming the distinguishing element on the dial. They are filled with luminous material, thus reflecting the technical character of the automobile timepiece.

Black Dauphin hands ensure good legibility and a whiff of nostalgia. Also in black is the date on the two-tone dial, which is refined with polished lacquer. As befits the legendary racer for the wrist, the perforated under-layer of the strap is based on the seats of classic historical cars – the next excursion beckons.

Junghans Meister Driver – passion and the pioneering spirit

The strong links between Junghans and the automobile have been in place since the end of the 19th century. Arthur Junghans, son of the company founder Erhard Junghans, was a close friend of Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. As a consequence, he bought one of the first Daimler test cars in 1892. Just three years later Arthur Junghans ordered a four-seater Motor-Viktoriawagen, for which he created worm gear steering. At the beginning of the 20th century the company produced car clocks. Numerous inventions were also made – in 1905 Dr. Oskar Junghans, son of Arthur Junghans, developed a speed measuring device with integral speed logging.

Click, to see the large size. FOTO

His brother Helmut shared his passion for the automobile. In 1924 he developed a "Viadicator" driving direction indicator in co-operation with the Leitz company of Wetzlar, a predecessor of the present-day indicator. More than a century of affinity for the automobile is continued today by the Junghans owners, Dr. Hans-Jochem and Hannes Steim. The Steim car collection in Schramberg, which celebrates its 10th birthday in 2017, contains a cross section from over 110 years of automobile history – with stylish classic vehicles that serve as inspiration for the models of the Meister Driver series, bringing this passion to the wrist.

JUNGHANS – MEISTER Pilot Chronoscope

JUNGHANS MEISTER Pilot Chronoscope NEW

The fascination of flying is alive

The maiden flight was a complete success. Now the runway is clear again, the engines are running and per-mission has been granted for the series model of the Meister Pilot to take off.

Optimal altitude

Following the successful launch of the Meister Pilot Event Edition in the scope of an event at the headquarters of Junghans, the series model of the Meister Pilot is now also on board. The unmistakable design and mechanical independence make the timepiece the perfect wrist-borne co-pilot. The distinctive design elements of the legendary Junghans pilot watch from the 1950s are also to be found in the series model of the Meister Pilot.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..                  BIG FOTO

The timepiece combines these with the smooth and stylish design of the current Meister collection. The elegant and discreet design of the case and the flowing shape of the lugs focus the attention of the pilot on the large time display.

The domed sapphire crystal provides an ideal view of the clear luminescent numerals and distinctive hands. The watch enables good legibility, even in poor lighting conditions and at night. On the dial itself there is a bicompax display, the two totalisers of which are laid out on the 3-9 axis.

Continued tradition

The high demands placed on timekeeping by aviation were first addressed by Junghans in the 1930s, when the company produced on-board clocks for air traffic use. These were manufactured in level 7 of the now heritage-listed terrace building, the structure offered optimal lighting conditions for the delicate task of watchmaking. The classic instrument appearance of the cockpit was also reflected in the legendary Bundeswehr chronograph of 1955.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..                 BIG FOTO

The design of the Meister Pilot harks back to this: on the bi-directional rotating bezel the 12 distinctive, concave notches ensure a good grip as well as the unmistakable appearance of the timepiece.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..                 BIG FOTO

The screwed case back features a distinctive element: a specially-designed compass rose, which incorporates the symbolism of classic aviation in the form of an artificial horizon.

The riveted leather strap ensures a secure fit on the wrist. The particular construction of the front assembly lends the timepiece an unusual elegance for a pilot watch – and the lightness required for take-off.
