Glashütte, October 2014. East Germany existed for 40 years — and it has been 25 years
since the Monday demonstrations in Leipzig, which contributed towards the collapse of
the state, began. Times have changed since then, in both Leipzig and Glashütte, and
beautifully so.

NOMOS Glashütte is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with
a special edition watch: Orion 1989. This version of the classic model in an elegant
November gray with golden indexes and hands is a watch for the next quarter century, at
least.

The hand-wound timepiece with a dark gray velour leather strap is available from
fall for both women and men, in 33 and 38 millimeters. And of course, it is Made in
Glashütte, Germany; crafted by NOMOS Glashütte, the watchmaking company founded
just after reunification.
