Since the in troduction of the legendary 9P movement in 1957, followed by the groundbreaking 12P in 1960, Piaget has set the standard for ultra-thin watchmaking. With these latest creations, Piaget writes a new chapter in this storied tradition, merging Maison's horological expertise with its deep-rooted artistry in jewellery  and design. Today, the Altiplano continues to break records and push boundaries, most recently with the Altiplano Ultimate Concept winning the prestigious Aiguille d'Or at the 2020 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

The Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon: 
A Sophisticated Ultra-Thin Update

Following the 2024 debut of the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon 150th Limited Edition, Piaget introduces a new interpretation, distinguished by a sophisticated color palette of khaki green and yellow gold. The cobalt alloy case is still 2.0mm thin.

In the AUC Tourbillon, there is no separation between case and movement - each element is engineered with the same uncompromising precision. The caseback itself serves as the movement's mainplate, a feat of integration where not a single millimeter is wasted in Piaget's relentless pursuit of ultra-thin perfection.

 Crafted from cobalt alloy, a material known for its resistance, the 41.5 mm case of the AUC Tourbillon also adds a sapphire caseback for the first time, giving full view of the caliber 970P-UC. The caliber now features a variety of satin-brushed and polished finishes, bringing a more sophisticated, contemporary character to the piece.

The caseback bears two engraved tributes: the brand's motto, “Always do better than necessary”, and “La Côte-aux-Fées,” the name of the historic village where Piaget was founded and continues to craft its most exceptional pieces.

In a nod to the Altiplano's design heritage, Piaget has subtly reinterpreted its signature cross-shaped motif, historically seen on the Altiplano, now replicated across the ratchet wheel, balance wheel, and screw arrangement.

This symbolic touch reinforces the connection between heritage and innovation. The AUC Tourbillon is paired on a matching khaki green calfskin strap featuring a newly developed pattern called “Polish Mesh” that evokes Piaget's goldsmithing savoir-faire.

The AUC Tourbillon will now join the AUC and the Andy Warhol collection as part of Piaget's Infinitely Personal program. Clients will be invited to co-create their own AUC Tourbillon through a dedicated online configurator, working alongside sales advisors to select custom finishes, materials, and engravings, transforming this groundbreaking timepiece into a unique expression of personal style, true to a long-held ideal that each Piaget piece should be as unique as the individual wearing it.

This new release comes in response to the overwhelming and positive reception of the Eclipse, as well as the increasing demand for new iterations by friends and collectors, and serves as a celebration of both the brand and its home, Qatar.

The Eclipse: Qatar Limited Edition replaces the original blue accents of the watch with a deep Maroon – as carried on Qatar’s Flag.  This is also shown on the case back of the Eclipse, with a new Maroon rotor.

Eastern-Arabic numerals are displayed front and centre to show the hours, and the “Beda’a” Badge on the dial is replaced with Arabic calligraphy of the same.

 Framed by a 37 mm stainless-steel case, a “celestial shield” conceals most of the dial, revealing only the essentials: a sweeping hour aperture, a floating minutes indicator, and a discreet 10-second counter.

The shield itself floats just beneath the sapphire crystal, creating a tactile connection and a play of light evocative of an eclipse’s corona. Beneath this architectural dial lies the Sellita SW300 automatic movement, visible through a sapphire case back.

At the centre of the piece sits a natural onyx stone dial, polished to create a seemingly infinite surface – a deep, liquid black that absorbs light like the midnight sky. Suspended in darkness against this cosmic backdrop, the silvery disc of the moon – complete with craters – glows with hyperrealist texture and detail.

Like so many sparks across the void, subtle flashes of red mark out the 31st day of the month and the ‘GENEVE’ lettering beneath the brandmark, setting the composition aflame. The whole forms a dial that’s both poetic and precise – and a timepiece that captures the quiet theatre of the night sky.

Presented in a 39-millimetre stainless steel case that’s water resistant to 10ATM, the Highlife Moonphase Date Manufacture – Onyx Moon features the collection’s signature integrated design, reimagined for the first time to include a five-link bracelet that adds a refined, tactile dimension. The quick-release system enables the wearer to switch effortlessly between the bracelet, a black rubber strap and the calf leather strap with nubuck finishing (both also included), thus offering three personalities – elegant, sporty and everyday – in one watch.

In another first, the FC-716 Manufacture automatic movement has been chosen as the beating heart of this Highlife watch. Developed and assembled entirely in-house, it boasts an improved and truly impressive 72-hour power reserve thanks to a new mainspring alloy and a redesigned barrel. The date and moonphase displays offset each other perfectly at six o’clock, while the pad-printed moon features a realistic surface. Amazingly enough, all the functions are adjusted via the crown. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Côtes de Genève and perlage finishings reveal the meticulous craftsmanship of Frederique Constant’s Geneva atelier.
