DeWitt - CLASSIC Quantieme Collection

DeWitt - CLASSIC Quantieme Collection NEW

The launch of the new DeWitt CLASSIC collection marks an inspired change for the Geneva workshops, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...              BIG FOTO
While introducing a resolutely classic style and extremely pure lines, this new design remains faithful to the DeWitt DNA. Offering a subtle blend of character and elegance, the new CLASSIC collection is balanced and understated.

The case is thinner than on the Academia and Twenty-8-Eight collections, and features a refined and understated version of the iconic imperial column motif. The 40 mm-diameter rose-gold case and the soft, curved lines of the horns give an impression of extreme lightness. The watch is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement.

DeWitt - CLASSIC Quantieme

The CLASSIC Quantieme watch offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. In addition to indicating the hours, minutes, and seconds, the movement has a calendar with days of the week in the aperture at 11 o’clock, months at 1 o’clock and the date using a central hand. Constantly pushing the boundaries of watchmaking technology in pursuit of aesthetic perfection, a mother-of-pearl moon phase indicator positioned at 6 o’clock is delicately placed on a “goldstone” sky.

Goldstone is a glittering glass discovered in Venice in the seventeenth century, which later developed into the famous Murano glass.

Ranging from black to white, through a delicate shade of midnight blue, the sunray dial allows light and shadow to subtly interact with shape and colour.

The CLASSIC Quantieme is a paragon of traditional watchmaking expertise with its sunray dial, embellished with apertures, a moon phase indicator and appliqué markers, and openwork sword-shaped hands.

It meets the high standards of finish adopted by the DeWitt Manufacture since its creation: satin-finished, polished and chamfered surfaces. The high quality of finishing work also applies to the oscillating weight embellished with “Côtes de Genève”, signed by DeWitt, which can be seen through a sapphire crystal. There is also a “W” engraved on the rose-gold fluted crown.

Designed with the artistry and expertise of traditional Swiss watchmaking, the new CLASSIC collection by DeWitt is the result of a constant pursuit for harmony and aesthetics.

Girard-Perregaux - Cat’s Eye High Jewellery

GIRARD-PERREGAUX - Cat’s Eye High Jewellery NEW

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

A luminous, feline creation

The delectable Cat's Eye collection steps into the realm of the wildest dreams imaginable with this unique watch entirely enveloped in a costume of white diamonds. This exquisite plumage is the ultimate embellishment for this most exceptional of timepieces.

Seductive and grandiose, the Cat's Eye High Jewellery watch explodes with dazzling light and sparkling reflections. This masterpiece of timekeeping harmoniously combines the talents of the watchmaker and the jeweller. It perturbs the senses and is the object of every desire.

Girard-Perregaux, one of the historic Swiss Manufactures de Haute Horlogerie, has conquered the world with its expertise, with over two centuries of uninterrupted production.   A mechanical caliber of the very finest craftsmanship thus beats at the heart of this timepiece.  In the same way, the iconic design of the Cat's Eye Collection has made it a reference in terms of ladies' watches.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

The case, oval and horizontally aligned, has become over the years a highly-prized symbol for female admirers of fine watches. Its spectacular setting of 646 white diamonds of the very highest level of purity confers on it an aura that is unrivaled throughout the world.  They are in fact each classed as "F-VVS", a guarantee of perfect proportions and an exceptional degree of brilliance.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

A Glittering Constellation

The superlative character of the Cat's Eye High Jewellery watch is illustrated by its exclusive recourse to only the most precious materials. The dial, the case and the bracelet, are all entirely fashioned from white gold. They form the structure, actually almost invisible, upon which the gem-setters patiently mounted its constellation of diamonds.

No fewer than 120 hours of unwavering attention are required in order to achieve this result.  For this task, only the very best craftsmen were selected for the dexterity, patience and flair that guided their hands.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

The size of the emerald-cut stones give a contemporary, racy character to the Cat's Eye High Jewellery watch, which is historically recognized and transforms the rough diamond into a dazzling, multi-faceted rectangle with smoothed-out angles.  In so doing, the different faces systematically create a diminutive House of Mirrors in which each stone is progressively lit up or eclipsed at each movement of the wrist. A total of 645 stones make up the mosaic that envelopes the Cat's Eye High Jewellery watch.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

The dial, the watch's centerpiece, presents a rare spectacle with its sunray effect and at its epicenter the small second hand decentered at 9 o'clock, and the rays in the form of lines of diamond stretching out toward its edge. The sole exception among the emerald-cut gems is the single diamond embedded in the heart of the crown, the only one to display a "rose" cut.   The Cat's Eye High Jewellery watch brings together a total of nearly 50 carats of precious stones, making this by definition one of the very rarest timepieces in existence.

Absolute comfort

Making this watch comfortable to wear has also been at the center of the Brand’s concerns. The Cat's Eye High Jewellery timepiece features dimensions that are entirely proportionate and agreeable, with a 38.63 mm x 33.63 mm case and a thickness of 12.90 mm. Additional links (of course also gem-set) are also provided to ensure a perfect fit on the wrist.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

The embodiment of Girard-Perregaux expertise, the GP03300 caliber, is automatically winding so as to avoid any need for unnecessary handling of the crown.  Equipped with 46 hours of power reserve, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 Vib/h - (4 Hz) and displays the hour, minutes and seconds to show at every moment the time that, in this case, seems quite simply eternal.

De Bethune - DB28 T Black Сollection

De Bethune - DB28T Black Tourbillon Сollection NEW

DB28 Black Сollection
Black variations on the DB28

Aesthetic BLACK

Sometimes mirror-polished for a shiny look, sometimes satin-brushed for a matt finish, black zirconium is a key element in the composition of the cases and floating lugs of the DB28 The multiple ways in which the light plays across the material and its various finishes reveal countless different tones ranging from anthracite grey to intense black.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...              BIG FOTO

This pleasing aesthetic effect was already greatly appreciated on the DB28 dials, which opened a window onto the movement alternating between the sophisticated elegance of hand-polished bridges and the understated charm of Côtes de Genève reinterpreted by De Bethune.

Technological BLACK

In its research on materials and new processes, De Bethune saw the choice to machine zirconium as a natural and sustainable alternative for the colour black. The hardness of the metal as together stable oxidation that is unaffected by daily changes in temperature are twin assets that guarantee the resistance and durability of the exterior of a timepiece.

Adorned with its famous crown at 12 o’clock, the DB28 which is known for the surprising lightness of its case and the comfort of its floating lugs – a patented system that adapts to the size of the wrist and its various movements – is as supple as ever, since the lightness of titanium is replaced by that of zirconium.

New variations around a flagship model, featuring a contemporary design paradoxically inspired by that of historical pocket watches, highlight the technical breakthroughs achieved by the Manufacture and the meticulous decoration work of its artisans, custodians of age-old expertise.

-----------------------------------
DB28 Black Matte – understated elegance

Having won the 2011 “Aiguille d’Or”, the highest distinction awarded by the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, for its DB28 model, De Bethune now offers a black interpretation of its iconic model.

The DB28 Black matte is equipped with DB Calibre 2115 which is endowed with the technological innovations developed and produced within the Manufacture. Its precision is further consolidated by the self-regulating twin barrel and by the presence within the regulating organ of a silicon/palladium balance wheel and a balance-spring with a flat terminal curve, protected by the triple pare-chute system.

As one can see from careful observation of the sky, moon phases are read off on an exclusive display by means of a platinum and blued steel sphere spinning on its axis and boasting a degree of precision equivalent to a mere one-day difference every 122 years.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DB28T Black Gold – sophisticated elegance

The DB28T is powerded by DB Calibre 2009, a mechanical hand-wound movement equipped with the De Bethune silicon/titanium tourbillon. De Bethune has undertaken a complete rethinking of the tourbillon in terms of its use in wristwatches. The laws of physical are implacable: to compensate for the random “violence” of wrist movements, the carriage must be as light as possible, with a high frequency and a maximum rotation speed, along with minimum weight and inertia. Based on new technologies, De Bethune has developed an 0.18 g silicon-titanium tourbillon fitted inside a carriage that spins on its axis every 30 seconds, and equipped with a balance-wheel oscillating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. This tourbillon is the lightest on the market (classic tourbillons are four times heavier) and comprises 57 parts, of which the lightest weighs less than 0.0001 grams and the heaviest 0.0276 grams!

MB&F - HM5 RT in Red Gold

MB&F - Horological Machine No 5 RT Red Gold

HM5 On the Road Again may appear relatively simple, but it’s complicated: the hour and minute displays look straightforward, but they are bi-directional jumping hours with indications inversed, reflected 90° to the vertical and magnified 20%; HM5 has a futuristic case design, but it's from the 1970s; HM5 has a mechanical movement, but it was inspired by an era when quartz was King; the rear louvres on supercars block light, but on HM5 they let it in; HM5 has exhaust pipes, but they drain water; HM5 is “On the Road Again”, but its inspiration barely left the garage.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...      BIG FOTO

The last decade or two have seen an exponential growth in inventions that have revolutionised our lives. Robots may not cook dinner, but they can build cars, vacuum the home and mow the lawn. Sending a man to Mars is not a question of if, but when.
But imagine the exciting anticipation of the future in the early 1970s with the arrival of supercars, hovercrafts, the supersonic Concorde, Apollo moon landings… and high-precision quartz watches. Everything seemed possible: humanoid robots, jet-packs and flying cars. In the 1970s the future wasn’t tomorrow, it was today!

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...              BIG FOTO

In 1972, one plucky watch brand, Amida, decided to take on the quartz usurpers at their own game with the Digitrend, which featured a fashionably futuristic tapered case and vertical digital LED-look display powered by a mechanical movement. It looked just like a cutting-edge quartz watch and it eventually became an iconic timepiece. Unfortunately, appreciation came too late to save Amida.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...             BIG FOTO

The unmistakable wedge-shaped case of HM5 On the Road Again is direct homage to the daring Amida Digitrend. However, it also takes unmistakable cues from the sleek low-slung supercars of the epoch, with louvres on their near horizontal rear windows blocking sunlight and heat. Conversely, the slide operated louvres on HM5 open to allow light in to charge on the Super-LumiNova numbers on the time disks.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                BIG FOTO

Another distinguishing feature of supercars are throaty exhaust pipes. HM5 has dual exhausts to drain water, in case – like James Bond’s Lotus in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ – HM5 gets wet. An inner water-resistant case keeps HM5’s Engine nice and dry.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                    BIG FOTO

An optical grade sapphire prism reflects the horizontal hour and minutes so that they display vertically and a convex lens magnifies the numeral by 20% for improved legibility. The vertical forward-facing display makes HM5 an excellent driver’s watch as there is no need to lift your wrist from the steering wheel to read the display.

HM5 takes these 1970s icons and now, 40 years into the future, puts them “On the Road Again”.

GIRARD-PERREGAUX - Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland

GIRARD-PERREGAUX - Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland NEW

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

A Star is Born

celebrates the art of cinema with a special edition of the Hawk Collection: the Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland. This special timepiece highlights once again Girard-Perregaux’s passion for the cinema, and its engagement to celebrate movies.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

The all-new Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland takes centre stage clad in gleaming gold and black ceramic case and bezel — a material whose very existence is emblematic of the progression of time and science. The watchmakers pay playful homage to Hollywood with a keen eye toward the materials they used with alternating matte and gloss finishes accentuating the relief carving of the case.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...        BIG FOTO

The dial works mightily to increase the depth of field. Luminescent keys (all the better to see in a dark cinema, if you must), a worked flange, counters and strikes carved in relief fit together, inspired by the shape of the bridge.

The chronograph functions are traditional but its performance is pervasive, thanks to the mechanical, self-winding GP03300 manufactured calibre, whose visible oscillating weight by the sapphire recalls the Brand’s identity codes.

The all-new Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland, of course, was designed in tribute to Hollywood: a dream of a watch paying fealty to the industry that makes dreams spring vividly to life.

This timepiece also highlights the Brand’s commitment to celebrate movies. In 2012, Girard-Perregaux announced it would be the Exclusive Timekeeper and a Founding Supporter of the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, to be located in Los Angeles.
