F.P.Journe Introduces The lineSport Centigraphe 

And Automatique Réserve In Platinum And 6N Gold

After the launch of the Centigraphe Titanium and Automatique Réserve Titanium with yellow dials last fall, the Centigraphe and the Automatique Réserve are now available in their Platinum and 18K 6N Gold versions.

The 44mm cases are available in Platinum or 18K 6N Gold with an assorted respective metal bracelet with matte finishing emphasizing a contemporary sportive aspect.

The bezel with ceramic inlay follows the codes of the Chronographe Rattrapante with numbers engraved in the Platinum or Gold base. The dials of the 18K 6N Gold versions are in Silver guilloche covered with Ruthenium and appliques numerals in matte 18K 6N Gold and Silver guilloche chronograph or small second counters.

The Platinum versions feature blue-mauve colour Silver guilloche dials with appliques numerals in matte white Gold and Silver guilloche chronograph or small second counters.

The 18K rose Gold hand-wound mechanical movement of the Centigraphe indicates elapsed times on three dials, a 100th of a second at 10 o’clock, 20 seconds at 2 o’clock and 10 minutes at 6 o’clock. The chronograph is started, stopped and zeroed by a patented ® rocker at 2 o’clock instead of the usual buttons on either side of the crown.

The Centigraphe supports the medical research carried out by the ICM, Institute of Brain and Spinal Cord in Paris. Along with Professor Gérard Saillant, Luc Besson, Jean Réno, Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt, amongst others, François-Paul Journe has committed to donating 30% of the profits from the sale of each Centigraphe to the ICM, with no time limit (www.icm-institute.org).

The Automatique Réserve features a day and night indication and a date now even larger (4.7 x 2.6 mm) for optimal readability. The 18K rose Gold automatic winding mechanical movement with a 22K Gold rotor uses any slightest movement of the wrist to increase the winding of the watch providing 160 hours of power reserve.

The first watch inspired by the partnership between Panerai and the Challenger of Record of the 36th America’s Cup is the SUBMERSIBLE LUNA ROSSA, a diving watch water-resistant to a depth of 300 metres (30 bar) with a case made of carbotech, the innovative material based on carbon fibre introduced into the world of high quality watchmaking by Panerai.

With its qualities of lightness, resistance to external shocks and freedom from corrosion, carbon fibre material is also used to make the AC75 monohull, a picture of which is engraved on the titanium back of the watch, together with the Luna Rossa logo and the America’s Cup profile.

The striated matt black appearance of the case (47 mm) arises from the particular arrangement of the carbon fibres and it gives every watch a sports look, high tech and very distinctive. Enhancing the strong personality of this watch are the unidirectional rotating bezels for calculating the duration of a dive, also made of carbotech, and the dial, whose special texture conceals a fascinating secret: pieces of the Luna Rossa sails have been applied to it.

The indications on the dial are clearly visible in all situations - including underwater - and several details stand out with their red colour: the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock and the central hand indicating the second time zone which, when set up, will enable the start time of the races of the 36th America’s Cup to be followed even if they are taking place on the other side of the world.
