This high-performance annual event will feature the exclusive launch of the new limited colour code Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon Red – performed with winning motorsport tyre rubber.

Roger Dubuis shifts up yet another gear in 2018 with a selection of ultra-sophisticated new timepieces illustrating its high-octane partnerships with motor racing royalty, Pirelli and Lamborghini Squadra Corsa. Screeching power and precision as its battle cry, the Lamborghini Squadra Corsa collaboration kicked off in 2017 with the creation of a new movement inspired by the design of the Aventador S engine; while the liaison with Pirelli was the starting block for a series of Excalibur models inspired by the tyres that Pirelli supplies to high-end motor racing.

With a shared dedication to providing unique experiences for their clients, the launch pads for these spectacular timepieces have been varied to say the least. Against this background and playing its “disruptive” card to full effect, with “client experiences” as the joker, the wild child of Geneva watchmaking is once again set to demonstrate what happens when visionary engineers meet incredible watchmakers at the Run to Monaco 2018.

And on Sunday May 27th, to wrap up an emotion-packed week in the presence of a group of select guests, Roger Dubuis will toast the victory of the winning car by unveiling the latest icon in its Perfect Fit partnership with Pirelli.

Through this unique adventure offering a red-hot combination of peak luxury and matching adrenalin levels, Roger Dubuis once again proves it is entirely in its element among an elite group of exceptional individuals driving – and wearing – equally standout feats of mechanical engineering.

A black ceramic bezel with red markings offsets the titanium and sapphire crystal case proffering an incredible view of the new RD105SQ hand-wound calibre and multi-coloured power reserve indicator representing a cool nod to racing-car cockpit fuel gauges.

CVSTOS – CHALLENGE JETLINER II P-S Automatic

CVSTOS complements the eponymous series, with the new JETLINER II P-S AUTOMATIC, and reinvents the oldest of the watchmaking mechanisms with a new calibre, complete with small seconds at 6 o’clock. This new calibre CVS-410 developed exclusively for this model presents the special features which are cherished by the brand and includes some improvements which boost the efficiency and performance of the mechanism.

Efficiency

is guaranteed based on a totally innovative magnetic system, designated as “anti-rattling”. The latter is composed of 2 small cylindrical permanent magnets, perfectly positioned between 2 teeth for each jump which is induced by the escape wheel.

Thereby, this system thus guarantees the operational fluidity and ultimately the correct positioning of the small seconds wheel elaborated of polarised steel. This makes the system void of abrasive foils and ultimately, provides it with a better performance.

Performance

is guaranteed based on a longer and stronger mainspring, which improves the distribution of the torque on the power reserve curve. The increase in the force and the length of the spring must necessarily go hand in hand with the winding device, i.e., the oscillating weight which ensures the complete winding of the mainspring. The gross energy reserve is approximately 48 hours; however, its efficiency is stored for 32 hours of the total energy reserve.

The oscillating weight is composed of two highly technical materials, titanium grade 5 & THUNGSTEN88®. This combination of materials eliminates all vibrations due to uneven weight on the ball-bearing and provides better rotational acceleration, thus optimising the winding.

Preciousness

The case of the watch, composed of 3 elements, allows to select from an infinity of variations, both in materials and colours. The fusion of different shades of titanium, ceramic composite material and gold provides these watches with added value with the case laterals made of 5N pink gold, while reducing the weight with the use of titanium for the remaining components.
