Bring on the Complications: the New
Robert Mühle Zeigerdatum

Mühle-Glashütte is now honouring the life and work of its founder with its new Robert Mühle special edition, which also breathes fresh life into a classic complication that is now a rare treasure: the date hand. As you would\ expect from a timepiece made in a genuine manufacturing workshop, the mechanism  was  personally designed by Mühle-Glashütte's  expert watchmakers themselves. After founding his family company in 1869, Robert Mühle played a significant role in establishing the excellent reputation of the German town of Glashütte as a top watchmaking location thanks to his high-precision measuring instruments. This year, he would have celebrated his 175th birthday. This is reason enough for Mühle-Glashütte to celebrate its namesake by launching a traditionally manufactured classic timepiece that reflects the values practised by Robert Mühle in the most stunning way possible. The new Robert Mühle Zeigerdatum not only boasts the combination of maximum precision and excellent readability that characterises every Mühle watch, but also stands out due to not one, but two additional functions in its mechanical movement, the so-called "complication". These functions are clear for all to see thanks to the watch's large transparent case back.

The "RMK 03" movement, which was designed by the manufacturer's very own watchmakers, forms the heart of the timepiece and is based on the Robert Mühle RMK 01 calibre with an up/down display that has already been given a new design. In the RMK 03, it welcomes an additional complication in the form of the date hand, which is located in the second third of the module plate.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                         FOTO

With the small-second display at the 6 o'clock position acting as the perfect finishing touch, the movement contains an impressive tally of 180 components with a total of 33 jewels and therefore features nearly 35 more components than the RMK 01. In keeping with the spirit of Glashütte's classic watchmaking tradition, the new movement is additionally adorned with screwed gold chatons and a finely engraved balance cock.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                         FOTO

When it comes to its fine regulation and cover plate, the calibre is yet again a prime example of outstanding craftsmanship because, as is only right for a top-quality Mühle watch, it contains the company's patented woodpecker neck regulation, which is particularly shockproof. In addition, the cover plate was designed as a three-fifth plate with a separate balance cock for the escape wheel.

This time measuring instrument is not only beautifully engineered on the inside, but also stunning on the outside. With their clear silver accents, its three totalisators shine out elegantly against the anthracite-coloured background of its face, while the hour numerals and indices, which are painstakingly applied manually, perfectly complement the watch's polished stainless steel hands. To top it off, the watch's 44-millimetre-wide case made of brushed and polished stainless steel and its crocodile leather strap with a stainless steel folding clasp provide a suitably glorious setting for the Zeigerdatum's exclusive complication. After first being used in a pocket watch back in 1793, this complication became somewhat of a thing of the past after the introduction of the date window. To put it simply, this complication is the ideal historic treasure for a timepiece like the R. Mühle & Sohn special edition, which above all represents a precise time measuring instrument that will take pride of place on every wrist.

Admiral’s Cup Legend 47 Worldtimer
An ocean voyage

Since 1960, the powerful allure and technical performance of Corum's symbolic Admiral's Cup collection has encapsulated the historic link between the Swiss watch making brand and sailing. In 2016, this sporting icon is enhanced with a complication preferred by the long distance traveler: World-Time. Created almost 60 years ago, the Admiral's Cup range has become a veritable cornerstone
of Corum. Its strong aesthetic and emblematic conventions express an elegant yet sporty

sided case and the colourful nautical pennants which adorn the dial create a strong,

Distant horizons

The ultimate traveler's watch, the Admiral's Cup Legend 47 Worldtimer is available in two
models vying for the top spot for their style and technical prowess. Its robust case, 47 mm in
diameter, waterproof to 100 metres, is worked from titanium in the first model, while the bi-
colour version marries the metallic brilliance of this ultra-light material with the warmth of rose
gold on the twelve-sided bezel. The case is structured with layers opening onto a matte black
dial punctuated by pennant markers, luminescent Dauphine hands and a skeleton second
hand providing perfect visibility in all circumstances. The bi-color model features a smoked
sapphire crystal dial, which provides a glimpse of the working parts of its mechanical heart.

World time

In perfect contrast, the open bottom of the dial is equipped with smoked sapphire crystal
engraved with the names of cities in 24 time zones as well as their abbreviations. As a result
one can admire the CO376 calibre, its bars echoing a dodecagon and its openwork
oscillating weight. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, for a power-reserve
of 48 hours, this automatically-winding watch includes functions for the hour, minute, and
second, as well as a second time zone and city indicators. Selecting the time zone is
particularly easy, via the crown situated at 2 o'clock pressing on the pusher at 2 o'clock
allows the hour hand to jump forward.

A black vulcanized rubber strap featuring a tri-fold clasp adds the finishing touch to the
technical and distinguished elegance of these two models with hints of adventure and
escape.

CASIO – OCEANUS OCW-G1100S Limited Edition

CASIO OCEANUS OCW-G1100S Limited Edition NEW

Casio to Release New OCEANUS Watch with Mysterious Appeal
Inspired by the Exosphere between Earth’s Atmosphere and Outer Space
Receives GPS and Radio Time-Calibration Signals

Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today that it will release the OCW-G1100S, a new addition to the OCEANUS line of metal watches designed to capture the essence of elegance and technology. The new watch features solar and GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor technologies and is inspired by the mysterious beauty of the exosphere, the space between Earth’s atmosphere and outer space. A limited edition of 200 watches will be released worldwide.

OCEANUS is a line of solar-powered titanium metal watches offering sophisticated design and advanced functionality. The OCW-G1000 and OCW-G1100 are both equipped with GPS and standard time signal reception technology. This feature gives users the correct local time wherever they go.

Based on the OCW-G1100, the new OCW-G1100S represents a further evolution of OCEANUS blue. The design motif captures the deep blue mystery of the exosphere as it transitions into the blackness of outer space.

The right side of the two-color molded ceramic bezel, which indicates time zones ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), is accented in blue, while the left side, indicating time zones behind UTC, is rendered in black. The gradation of color in the dial evokes the transition from the planet to the exosphere. The indicator in the two o'clock position represents stars shining through the exosphere, and is realized using recrystallized blue sapphires and natural diamonds. Furthermore, the 12 o'clock index marker features a large recrystallized blue sapphire, evoking a satellite motif. In addition to a natural diamond set on the second hand axis in the center of the dial, the watch case and band feature a DLC coating, giving the new model the scratch-resistance needed to maintain the beauty of the watch for a long time.

The new OCW-G1100S is packed with advanced technology, too. It not only includes solar and GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor technologies, but also comes with a Dual Coil Motor, which enables the watch hands in the inset dial at the 6 o’clock position to move at high speed both clockwise and counter clockwise. As a result, the time shown in the dial can change quickly whenever world time functions are used. Moreover, the speed of the moving hands is regulated for an interesting effect, adding to the pleasure of wearing this watch. This premium watch, produced using the sophisticated manufacturing technologies of Casio Yamagata Factory in Japan, combines a luxurious look with high functionality and practicality.

VACHERON CONSTANTIN – MAITRE CABINOTIER Retrograde Armillary Tourbillon

VACHERON CONSTANTIN MAÎTRE CABINOTIER Retrograde Armillary Tourbillon - Unique timepiece NEW

•  A unique type of watch that takes up the two original complications of the Ref. 57260 superwatch
•  Four patent applications
•  A stunning and contemporary design
•  With the Poinçon de Genève Geneva quality hallmark

In the wake of the most complicated watch ever made, the Ref. 57260 with 57 complications, Vacheron Constantin unveils the Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon model. This timepiece bearing the Hallmark of Geneva was produced by the three master watchmakers who created Ref. 57260, and they incorporated two of the complicated features of the superwatch: the armillary tourbillon and the double retrograde indication. Its contemporary styling opens the remarkable structure of the calibre 1990 movement to view. The high-precision manually wound movement is housed in a 45.7mm case in white gold. Four patent applications have been filed for this unique model.

On September 17, 2015, Vacheron Constantin unveiled a watch with 57 complications — the most complicated watch ever made. This mechanical wonder, devised by three master watchmakers from the company’s Atelier Cabinotiers workshops, took eight years to develop and was presented to mark Vacheron Constantin’s 260th Anniversary. The one-off piece was made to a special commission, using the latest technology to preserve the traditional watchmaking principles certified by the Hallmark of Geneva. The research and skill mobilised to create the Ref. 57260 remained a source of inspiration as well as a development resource for its three watchmakers, who were at the same time working to highlight some of its complications separately.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ....                 BIG FOTO

The Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon model is the first born of this project. It’s a remake of two of the Ref. 57260’s complications, the double retrograde indications and the armillary tourbillon, in a contemporary guise. The retrograde function governs the hours and minutes while the tourbillon revolves on two axes and has a spherical balance-spring. The movement coated with NAC (a special metal alloy) is also revealed through lateral windows in its imposing case. This timepiece forms part of the select Maître Cabinotier collection, which showcases Vacheron Constantin’s horological achievements, customised work and overall excellence.

The manually wound calibre 1990 movement developed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin features retrograde hours and minutes indications with instant flyback. The double indications are as technically fascinating as they are visually mesmerising. The hands flick back to zero at such a speed that the special attention is needed to ensure a precise indication and such lightweight and resistant materials as the titanium used in the hands.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

The lighting reaction of the retrograde hands contrasts with the more stately pace of the armillary tourbillon with a spherical balance spring. The elegantly structured tourbillon operates as a sphere perpetually rotating on two axes under a sapphire crystal dome at 9 o'clock. It’s called an armillary tourbillon because it is based on an armillary sphere like the one incorporated in an astronomic clock made by the French clockmaker, Antide Janvier, in the 18th century. The tourbillon is a visual evocation of the rings and hoops of the ancient model of the celestial sphere. The spherical balance spring, which was first developed by Jacques-Frédéric Houriet in 1814, is particularly rare in today’s watches. The shape ensures the concentric development of the spring and consequently the isochronism of the balance wheel.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

The tourbillon carriage, made of lightweight aluminium alloy, incorporates Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese Cross emblem, which forms up every 15 seconds as the tourbillon rotates. This ongoing spectacle may be admired every 30 seconds through a sapphire crystal opening on the side of the case.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

As fascinating as it is for its action and construction, the armillary tourbillon achieves remarkable timekeeping precision. It is fitted with a new type of escapement, developed and made by Vacheron Constantin that has the escape wheel and lever in silicon with diamond pallet stonesfor resistance to wear and long life. The escapement, made as lightweight as possible by the use of high-tech materials, contributes significantly to the performance of this watch, which greatly exceeds the requirements of the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This level of precision is all the more noteworthy considering the large amount of energy absorbed by the double retrograde indications.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

Another feature that makes the Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon watch original is the modern styling applied to the architecture and finish of the movement. The calibre 1990 is electro-plated with an NAC treatment in a dark anthracite colour creating a mirror-polished effect. On the dial side the movement displays its modern architecture with sharply cut bridges tempered by a sunburst satin finish and Geneva stripes.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

The back presents a more conventional look, finished with Geneva stripes making an elegant counterpoint to the contemporary face of this unparalleled watch in the Vacheron Constantin product range. As an additional token of excellence, the painstaking work of chamfering all the edges took more than 130 hours. The indications are shown on two dials that partially cover the baseplate so as to reveal the outlines and contemporary finish of the movement.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                 BIG FOTO

On the right, the retrograde minutes and hours hands describe a semicircle over a sunburst satin finish punctuated by applied white-gold hour markers and a black minutes scale. Placed symmetrically, the tourbillon carriage carries the seconds pointer around a scale on a silvered disc. The Poinçon de Genève hallmark is exceptionally also engraved on the dial side above the inscription “Armillary Tourbillon” to certify the supreme quality of this timepiece.

Four patents are pending for the calibre 1990 inventive features:

1. The instantaneous retrograde system:
The minutes cam alone determines when the hands for the minutes and the hours fly back. The retrograde action of both hands is thus synchronised at noon and at midnight.

2. The collet:
The collet fixing the spring to the balance staff is made in lightweight titanium to improve the isochronism of the balance. Titanium’s weight and volume match those of the other materials in the regulating organ, making the collet ideal for use in a tourbillon.

3. The multi-carriage tourbillon:
The tourbillion is made up of two carriages, one inside the other. As they rotate they form a Maltese Cross every 15 seconds. The tourbillon has a Vacheron escapement and sprung balance. The escape wheel is made of silicon with a diamond-like coating, while the diamond pallet stones have a very low coefficient of friction.

4. The lever:
The silicon lever can be fitted with movable pallet stones so that the watchmaker can adjust them as in a conventional pallet lever. The diamond coating of the lever makes it stronger and more resistant to wear, while the friction between the fork and impulse pin is markedly reduced.

DeWitt Metiers d'Art CLASSIC JEWELLERY Moon Abstraction Limited Edition NEW

DeWitt pays tribute to the artistic crafts and adorns its Classic
Jewellery watch with an exceptional dial of celestial inspiration

With this third creation, DeWitt pays an elegant tribute to the spirit of majesty and freedom of the Emperor Napoleon, a direct ancestor of Jérôme de Witt, the founder of the Manufacture. No paint is used, and the dials are crafted from powdered pigments.

Powdered diamond, platinum, gold, pearl, lapis lazuli and other gemstones create a unique, delicately ethereal design.

After its first two dials inspired by the Japanese spring, the DeWitt Manufacture has chosen the
Classic Jewellery watch model for this abstract interpretation of a lunar landscape.

With its pure lines and slender imperial columns, the watch’s 18-carat rose gold case highlights the
delicate refinement of the dial. The 60 diamonds adorning the bezel emphasise the brilliance of this
celestial design, crafted from powdered precious stones.

Suffused with a presence that is both natural and poetic, the new Classic Jewellery “Moon

LOUIS MOINET – Black Gold Derrick Edition

LOUIS MOINET Black Gold Derrick Tourbillon Limited Edition NEW

Where time and black gold both flow

Louis Moinet’s spectacular new-look Derrick revolutionises the worlds of oil and watchmaking once more, with openwork mechanical parts of the movement further enhancing the technology involved in its extraordinary mechanism. The piece boasts a skeleton movement, haute horlogerie finishings, a three-day power reserve, and an all-new seconds display.

“The passage of time is mysterious, inescapable and intangible. Combining time with the world of oil was both a surprise and a success. The Derrick Tourbillon became a classic overnight – and a fun way to measure human activity.”

Three years after it was first created, with a few dozen watches’ worth of original limited editions, the Derrick Tourbillon has taken a new turn, picking up the watchmaking tale where it left off with the advent of the Black Gold Derrick.

Black gold watchmaking

The original spirit of the piece, redolent of the world of oil, remains intact. The watch’s entire movement represents the drilling process. A drive shaft sits on the right of the dial, between 2 and 4 o’clock. This powers a long articulated arm, known as the walking beam, between 10 and 2 o’clock. At its left-hand end is the oblong-shaped ‘head’, the most striking visual characteristic of a derrick.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                  BIG FOTO

The circuit naturally ends with a barrel at 9 o’clock, made from titanium and symbolising successful extraction. It too is in constant rotation: Louis Moinet has dedicated it to marking the seconds, read off at the bottom of the barrel, on a red engraved seconds track. The rotating barrel is also engraved with Louis Moinet’s name, atop its iconic fleur-de-lis motif.

Exclusive developments

Echoing the black gold depicted as running through the watch, the bridges are made from black PVD. Created exclusively for the Black Gold Derrick, they are open-worked, so as to give pride of place to the visual effect of the going train.
The plate is also completely new, as is the barrel cover. This now offers a view from above of the spring, whilst raised engraving on the minimalist-style cover proudly displays the 72-hour power reserve.

Watchmaking ethos

The Black Gold Derrick is imbued with the spirit of fine watchmaking. The time is displayed by two central rhodium-plated hands, regulated by a tourbillon escapement at 6 o’clock. The bridges and their many acute angles are all hand-finished, featuring pearled decor on the plate and the derrick bridge, and fine lines on the other bridges.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                  BIG FOTO

The assembly is housed in a new white gold case by Louis Moinet, dubbed NEO. Premiered worldwide at Baselworld, it embodies a noteworthy step by the Ateliers towards a more dynamic, contemporary style. The NEO case’s original, contemporary design includes open-work lugs; in a fine watchmaking flourish, these sport black zircon tips. In addition to open-work lugs, the sides have been sculpted, and the crown has also been modernised. This technical assembly, with over 45 parts, is topped by a six-screw bezel, now one of Louis Moinet’s stylistic hallmarks.

The Black Gold Derrick comes in a strictly limited edition of 28 pieces.
