Mikaela Shiffrin was eager to bring a touch of her own dynamic and elegant personality to the watch’s design. “When I visited Saint-Imier and discovered the complexity behind these watches, I was delighted to participate in the creation of my own watch,” said the Longines Ambassador of Elegance during the watch’s October 2018 unveiling in Sölden for the opening of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. “I am proud to lend my name to a Longines timepiece. The Conquest Chronograph by Mikaela Shiffrin reflects my sporting character without compromising its feminine styling.”

The blue aventurine dial of the Conquest Chronograph by Mikaela Shiffrin, along with hints of red on the chronograph’s flange and hands, evoke the colours of the American flag, honoring the skier's home country and her famous ski suit. For the first time, Longines is offering a dial made of aventurine, a fine gemstone with colours that shift and come to life under variations in light. The glitter evokes the sparkling snow cover that drapes the ski slopes carved out by this champion.

2009 saw the legendary Swiss-German watch brand Hanhart launch an exclusive collection of mechanical chronograph wristwatches which builds on the tradition and expertise of the own-brand watch manufactory and combines this with the latest technology and progressive design.

The collection is called Primus, and the Racer model pays tribute to Hanhart’s long history as the most important European manufacturer of manual stopwatches.

Committed to tradition

Reminders of the watch manufacturer’s tradition are deliberately made clearly recognisable: one of the brand’s distinctive features, the red reset button, underlines the relationship between Hanhart’s first pilot’s chronographs, its mechanical stopwatches and the new collection.

It has been a distinguishing characteristic of Hanhart watches since 1939 and was previously intended to prevent pilots from unintentionally resetting the stop time.

For the models featured in the Primus collection it has been finished with anodised aluminium. The thin, striking fluted bezel with inlaid red marking is also reminiscent of the design of the watch manufacturer’s legendary chronographs.
