H. MOSER & CIE. – ENDEAVOUR Perpetual Moon Concept Vantablack

H. MOSER & CIE.ENDEAVOUR Perpetual Moon Concept Vantablack® Steel Limited Edition

THE SOMBRE BEAUTY OF THE MOON
Perpetual Moon Concept
Vantablack®

H. Moser & Cie. reinterprets the moon phase in an understated way and highlights the beauty of the lunar body in an ode to its purity. Nestled at the heart of the Concept dial, which features neither logo nor indices, the moon shines through in a large window at 6 o'clock.

Surrounding it there is only space, seemingly interplanetary space. This effect is enhanced by the dial which is made from Vantablack® for the steel model. Its ultra-black coating, regarded as the darkest substance of all, Vantablack® is used in astrophysics in telescopes and by the army as thermal camouflage.

It is composed of carbon nanotubes that are vertically aligned next to each other and is capable of absorbing 99.965% of light. It is the darkest black dial to be produced yet. The black colour is such that it appears astral, abyss-like: An undeniable black hole at the centre of which shines the moon. The Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Vantablack® is an elegant, serene and refined moon phase model. A watch with a contemporary and bold design fitted in a steel case.

This model is powered by the HMC 801 hand-wound Manufacture calibre, equipped with an interchangeable Moser escapement featuring gold screws. The PE4000 hairspring, with a Breguet end curve, was entirely produced in-house by the sister company of H. Moser & Cie., Precision Engineering AG.

The HMC 801 calibre ensures the watch has a minimum 7-day power reserve, with an indicator on the movement side. The moon phase system is an extremely precise display that can be set, read and predicted to within a minute. The system can be easily adjusted using a push-button on the side of the case.

On average, the moon's orbital period lasts 29.53059 days. To be more precise: 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 2.9 seconds. The Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept's intricate wheel train portrays this interval so precisely that the gap is a mere 0.23 seconds per 2 day, that is to say one day's deviation after 1027.30 years.

GREUBEL FORSEY – Quadruple Tourbillon Blue Edition

GREUBEL FORSEYQuadruple Tourbillon Blue Red Gold & Platinum Limited Edition

Quadruple Tourbillon Blue

The flagship Quadruple Tourbillon that showcases the second Fundamental Invention is today presented with a new three-dimensional blue-polished dial.

Hand-finishing by Greubel Forsey

For this timepiece Greubel Forsey pushes the limits of Applied Art by presenting, for the first time ever, a black-polished dial.

This hand-made finish of polished perfection has on this occasion been applied to an unusually large surface, covering the entire surface of the dial. An aweinspiring achievement. When reflecting direct light we see a blue of a depth seemingly never before attained.

This technical challenge involved calling into question conventional methods to find solutions that could give rise to such an extraordinary result. An approach requiring great talent, infinite patience and prodigious dexterity.

Technically, the four tourbillons offer a spectacle of astonishing elegance as they perform an ethereal, perfectly choreographed ballet. Each connected to a spherical differential, they contribute independently to obtaining a precise and reliable timing rate, especially in stable positions.

The spherical differential transmits the average timing rate of the four tourbillons, thus improving the chronometric performance of all the regulating organs. In view of the impressive number of individual elements making up the movement, the case has been sculpted with asymmetrical forms.

An asymmetry that forms an aesthetic reflection of the asynchronous dynamic of the four tourbillons.
