Hanhart - Primus Desert Pilot

Hanhart - PRIMUS Desert Pilot NEW

As Hanhart celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2012, the Swiss-German watch brand, which was originally founded by Johann A. Hanhart in the Swiss town of Diessenhofen and still enjoys a
reputation as a leading manufacturer of precision timekeeping instruments today, is looking back on an unbroken tradition of manufacturing and a successful and innovative company history.

To mark this anniversary, Hanhart is launching two limited versions of the Pioneer Stealth 1882 (each limited to 130 pieces), which takes its name from the stealth technology used in aviation and reproduces all
the characteristic elements f the legendary Hanhart pilot’s chronographs from the 1930s in an eye-catching contemporary design.

The new Primus Desert Pilot, which is a contemporary take on legendary pilot's chronographs, is the ideal watch for precision timekeeping in the air.

RED BUTTON

OUR TRADEMARK - OR THE LEGEND OF THE RED BUTTON

He placed a kiss lovingly on her brow as she slept before quietly leaving the apartment. As he looked at his Hanhart watch in the hangar, a smile flitted over his lips: she had painted the button with her red nail varnish so that he would think of her always and return safe and sound…

This is the legend behind the red button – the distinctive trademark that has characterized Hanhart since the company first introduced its chronographs in 1938. The button has been painted, in particular to prevent pilots from unintentionally zeroing the stop time.

Reminders of Hanhart's tradition are made clearly recognisable: one of the brand's distinctive features, the red button, has been a distinguishing characteristic of Hanhart chronographs since 1939 and was previously intended to prevent pilots from unintentionally resetting the stop time.

Because pilots previously operated the crown of their wristwatch whilst wearing gloves, it had to be as large and slip-proof as possible, as today on the Primus Pilot.
