the Alacria RoyalRose. In 2014, the Swiss manufacturing brand is issuing 125 units of this limited-edition model featuring a stunning, elaborately studded strap.

Ornamental elegance.

This radiant masterpiece is inspired by the soft shapes of the violin: Convexly curved edges underscore the feminine signature of this stylish watch. The lines of the case made of 18-karat white gold temper the character of the Alacria. Set with 137 dazzling sapphires and the same number of diamonds, the floral design in warm, iridescent blue and violet hues of the Alacria RoyalRose lend it depth and multi-dimensionality.

The hands are likewise feminine and delicate, their cutout design emphasizing the subtle elegance of this model.

The timepiece is made complete with relief-like, floral elements which cover the entire face: The blossoms set with 89 sapphires and 26 diamonds harmonize perfectly with the mother-of-pearl inlay of the face.

Delicately entwined.

A testimony to the high art of jewelry-making at Carl F. Bucherer is the delicately studded strap: an extension of the lovingly designed face.

The 482 diamonds and 228 sapphires are set in the elaborately embossed pieces of the strap by a masterful hand, so that they smoothly surround the wrist.

Sign of the time.

The result is a timepiece whose elegance and lightness embody radiant femininity. The Alacria RoyalRose entwines itself around the wrist of the wearer in a charming and elegant way. And makes time blossom for her.

GREUBEL FORSEY – GF05 Ttanium GMT Black

GREUBEL FORSEY GF05 Ttanium GMT Black dial NEW

GREUBEL FORSEY – Launches Pre-SIHH 2015 GMT Ttanium Black dial

For more than a decade Greubel Forsey has been introducing highly creative ideas, each with a distinctive character. Here, for the second time, the company explores the contemporary timepiece with a titanium case. Treated with vacuum deposited ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon), in addition to its striking appearance, this deep black coating gives the watch a surface hardness significantly greater than natural titanium.

With the movement's main plate and bridges also in black finish, the palette of colours is more restrained. This helps to bring out the contrast between the different textures and surface finishes of each component's decoration.
However, relatively stronger colours are used to subtly highlight all indications of time and technical information. The various dials and indication zones appear to be floating in the space around the terrestrial globe, evoking the night sky with the stars twinkling in their eternal orbits.

Offering a three-dimensional temporal representation, the rotating globe offers at a glance a highly original view of time all over the world and a new way of perceiving different time zones.

The terrestrial globe makes one complete rotation every 24 hours anticlockwise – the Earth’s natural rotational direction viewed from North pole – and the position of the continents can be easily cross-referenced with the time on the equatorial chapter ring, which is marked with the 24 time zones and day/night indication.
The night-time hemisphere – 18:00 to 6:00 – is indicated by a blackened half of the ring around the globe, while the daytime hemisphere – 6:00 to 18:00 – is indicated by a whitened portion. The latter is superbly enhanced by a lateral window cleverly integrated into the caseband that lets in light to symbolise daytime.

A worldtime disc bears the names of 24 cities, each representing one of the different global time zones with summer time indicated for those cities where it is applicable.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..                   BIG FOTO

The beautifully crafted sapphire crystal disc is connected to the globe and by aligning the relevant city with the correct local hour on the outer chapter ring, the globe will indicate the correct worldtime.

The GMT features a 25° inclined Tourbillon 24 Secondes cage, one of Greubel Forsey’s major patented inventions.

The single inclined tourbillon cage undergoes rapidly changing positions with a high angular velocity, thus minimising the effects of gravity on the regulating organ and maximising timekeeping accuracy.

The 25° inclined Tourbillon 24 Secondes cage has been chosen for its chronometric virtues, reliability and compact size, which allows space for the other complications.

This unique edition will be composed of just 22 Timepieces worldwide.

HAUTLENCE – Concepts d'exception HL2.5 Black and Red

HAUTLENCEConcepts d'exception HL2.5 Black and Red Limited Edition NEW

THE NEW INTERPRETATION OF HL2.0 IN DRAMATIC BLACK AND RED

HAUTLENCE is introducing an exciting new version of its revolutionary HL2.0 collection with a trend-setting model sporting a black DLC-coated grade 5 titanium case and horns with red varnish detail on the signature jumping hours.

Alternating sand-blasted, satin-brushed and hand-polished finishes, the HL2.5 is the fifth in the collection which marked the second generation of HAUTLENCE watches. It retains all the characteristics that contributed to establishing HAUTLENCE amongst the most prestigious contemporary watchmaking brands, while now appearing in a new, super lightweight 49g case.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                  BIG FOTO

Like its predecessors in the HL2.0 collection, and faithful to the brand’s fundamental concept of offering a different way of reading time, the HL2.5 model displays half-trailing jumping hours, retrograde minutes and a power-reserve indicator. All are 28-piece limited editions.

Three patents for an exceptional timepiece

The HL 2.5 naturally benefits from the collection’s set of three patents. The first concerns the half-trailing hours chain (as opposed to an instant system that is too fast to appreciate, or a dragging system that cannot be read correctly between the hours): every 60 minutes the chain advances in 3-4 seconds without jumps or loss of energy, making it possible to admire the beauty of the movement and its mechanisms in action.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...                  BIG FOTO

The second patent relates to the regulating organ integrated into the mobile bridge movement. Its constantly changing position, driven by the display, compensates statistically for the effects of gravity, thus enhancing its precision.

The third patent covers the operation of the movement's two barrels. The main barrel is wound by the automatic system and transmits the energy needed to wind a second barrel that is devoted exclusively to driving the complication. It is kept fully wound by the main barrel to ensure that an optimal level of energy is available to change each hour. This means the complex systems are powered independently without affecting the precision of the watch.

OFFICINE PANERAI – Auction “PANERAI ONLY”

OFFICINE PANERAI – Auction “PANERAI ONLY

THE “PANERAI ONLY” AUCTION IN PARIS: PROCEEDS OF OVER ONE MILLION EUROS AND TWO WORLD RECORDS

On 8 December, in the “Panerai Only” auction organised by the well-known Artcurial auction house for Officine Panerai, about one hundred models of the Florentine brand were offered, divided into three sections: Vintage (1930-1950), "Pre-Vendome" (1993-1997) and “Vendome" (1997 to the present).

Two world records were broken by two models of great importance in the history of Panerai. The first was an extremely rare “Radiomir Egiziano”, the diver’s watch made in 1956 for the Egyptian Navy, which was sold for $155,000, beating the previous record price for this model.

The other world record was broken by a Radiomir PAM00021, a Special Edition of 1997 in platinum with a case design extremely faithful to that of the watch created by Officine Panerai for the frogmen of the Royal Italian Navy in 1938, which was sold for $127,000.

Two other vintage models, a Luminor and a Marina Militare, both with Rolex movements, each made over 120,000 euros, well above the initial auction estimates, while a Luminor 1950 8 Days (PAM00203), a Special Edition of 2005 with an Angelus eight-day mechanical movement, was sold more than $80,000.
