The new Historiador Racing collection takes its inspiration from the details of vintage cars. The rear of the steel case is engraved with the word “racing”, while the dial is inspired by the wheel spokes of vintage cars and the big wing nuts attaching the wheels to their hubs.

The Historiador Racing, housed in a thin, stainless steel case has a self-winding CYS 5102 ETA 2824-2 / SW 200-1 movement equipped with two barrels to ensure a 38-hour power reserve. Outstanding on the spoked dial are central hands in steel with superluminova, the serial number and date at 3 o'clock.

The Historiador Racing is made in a limited edition of 200 pieces, exclusively for drivers in the race, and the trademark is engraved on the back of each watch together with the number of the car. The watch will also be sold in a version dedicated to real racing buffs.

Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup 2014

The summer regularity event by Cuervo y Sobrinos returns from 3 to 6 July 2014.

A new and exciting course, starting from Milan in the direction of the great lakes and the epic Alpine passes among Italy, Switzerland and Austria, such as the Stelvio and the Bernina.

A perfect harmony of elegance and charme, luxury and relaxation combined with hairpin bends, fast curves and breathtaking landscapes, stopwatches and average trials.

The Cuervo y Sobrinos Cup is a classic international regularity rally that the CSAI has included among “Great Events”, the highest-ranking races on the Italian calendar. It will follow a route of approximately 600 km and be open to a maximum of 60 vintage cars built until 1969, with a special category dedicated to roadsters.

An unmissable weekend for vintage car buffs, but also for the lovers of “tiempo lento” and luxury, of refinement as a lifestyle, as Marzio Villa, event host and chairman of Cuervo y Sobrinos, loves to say.

An event greatly desired by Cuervo y Sobrinos, which will be presenting every driver with a prestigious automatic watch to launch its new Racing Collection, a gift created expressly for the occasion and personalized with the driver’s racing number.

GRIEB & BENZINGER – Centurion & Centurion Imperial

GRIEB & BENZINGERCenturion & Centurion Imperial

Germany based luxury watch atelier GRIEB & BENZINGER presents two new bespoke platinum creations: the CENTURION and the CENTURION IMPERIAL.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...         BIG FOTO

As so often the case with GRIEB & BENZINGER’s masterful skeleton watches, these new creations are the result of inspiration from an ambitious watch connoisseur looking for incredible, understated skeleton watches that nonetheless proffer value and handcrafts, but in an “invisible” way. Naturally, they are imposing in a mechanical sense, but the casual observer will already be impressed with their cool looks.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...    FOTO

The interesting collector request inspired GRIEB & BENZINGER`s CEO and creative whirlwind Georg Bartkowiak to transfer the brand’s bestseller ― the BLACK TULIP ―into a never-seen-before platinum execution. The classic BLACK TULIP already stunning as it is, has been transformed into a glamorous, yet simultaneously understated, high-end timepiece boasting an all-black appearance.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

The idea of the totally understated value of solid Platinum (PT950) beneath a blackened surface in combination with pure hand-skeletonization appealed to this client’s ideal of discreet taste. A lavish, almost cheeky, way of expressing understatement that is as-yet unmatched in the world of luxury timepieces.

Making it even cooler, the masters of GRIEB & BENZINGER combined this understated look with an expressive, eye-catching bezel pavé-set with 66 red diamonds in the exclusive Princess cut to create a second watch.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...         BIG FOTO

The CENTURION is remarkable in its understatement, though it remains highly valuable. The dramatic CENTURION IMPERIAL is perfectly topped off with a bezel set with red Princess-cut diamonds.

Skeleton Watch CENTURION: Blackened manually wound movement, fully skeletonized, guilloché and engraved by hand. Solid, completely blackened platinum PT950 case, 43 mm in diameter, black alligator-skin strap with solid platinum PT950 blackened buckle.

CENTURION IMPERIAL: Bezel set with 66 red Princess-cut diamonds.

The iconic Traveller WW.TC opts for an intense black look. The new Titanium DLC version stands out with its strong character and a high degree of sophistication. Its highly technical case houses a manufactured mechanical movement offering world times and chronograph functions.

With its deep black tones, the Traveller WW.TC Titanium DLC offers a combination of high performance and understatement. It presents itself as the ideal contemporary traveling companion, thanks to its world time function, which enables the wearer to instantly know the time anywhere in the world. Its chronograph function, with its coal black hue and its specially rubber treated alligator textured strap highlight its sporting and technical character.
Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...         BIG FOTO

The center of the dial in the Traveller WW.TC Titanium DLC watch features a three-dimensional representation of the latitudes and longitudes covering the Earth. Uniformly black, this serves as a backdrop to the hours and minutes displays. Both the hands and the hour-markers aid the cause of those who make time their ally, since their luminous coatings make them visible day and night. Designed to capture the shortest snatches of time, the chronograph is equipped with a bright red central seconds hand, with its minutes and hours marked by two separate counters at 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock.
Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...         BIG FOTO

Practical and easy to read, the world time function is displayed on the perimeter of the dial thanks to a first ring indicating both the hours and the periods of day and night. It is constantly in motion and completes a full revolution in 24 hours. An outer second ring is static, and shows the 24 different time zones that divide up the planet. The time in a particular place can be read instantly thanks to the numeral next to the city concerned. A sophisticated and practical solution, the single crown at 3 o’clock can control all its functions.

With 30 different parts, the 44mm diameter case is carved out of titanium, known for its combination of solidity and lightness. Its black inky color is the result of its special diamond-like carbon surface treatment. With the dial protected by a wide, highly resistant sapphire crystal, the case back is held in place by 6 screws and also includes a sapphire crystal aperture to reveal the watch's caliber.

The GP03300 self-winding mechanical movement was developed by Girard-Perregaux engineers and watchmakers. Produced, assembled and adjusted at the Manufacture, it includes 476 different parts. Equipped with a 46-hour power reserve, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 HZ) and offers hour, minute, small second, chronograph and date functions as well as world times with day/night indicator.

RJ-Romain Jerome – LIBERTY-DNA Black

RJ-Romain Jerome
LIBERTY-DNA Black Limited Edition NEW

“The watch that never sleeps”: The Liberty-DNA Black

On July 4th 2014, RJ-Romain Jerome will introduce a new Black edition of the emblematic Liberty-DNA timepiece. Following its initial launch in 2012, this new model pays tribute to the city that never sleeps and to the Lady of independence.

This original collection is the fruit of a collaboration between RJ-Romain Jerome, The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation and The Gold Leaf Corporation. This year, the brand releases a new model celebrating the 127th year of the dedication of Miss Liberty. The result is a unique creation complete with a black PVD-coated bronze bezel, echoing the true nature of The Statue of Liberty.
Found in the harbour off the coast of New York City, her charismatic figure shines at night, basking in the glimmering lights of the big city. It is with this vision in mind that the brand has chosen to introduce the Liberty-DNA Black as a tribute to the “City That Never Sleeps”.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..            BIG FOTO

Loyal to Bartholdi’s original design, the vision of “Liberty Enlightening the World” shines through in each detail of the watch. Housed in a 46mm black PVD-coated steel case, the bezel of the timepiece has been designed to perfectly sit over and protect the dial, as if it was wearing Miss Liberty’s famous crown. The spikes of the crown, thought to represent our planet’s seven continents, are illustrated here as time indicators, replacing the numerals on the dial and allowing the tips of the hands to appear through the crown’s “windows”. The famous dial composed of copper from the Statue of Liberty1 is now available in light grey and has been oxidized to recall the statue’s famous aesthetic.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..          BIG FOTO

The RJ logo is delicately applied at 12 o’clock. The facetted and polished hour and minute hands have been blackened to highlight the sharp appearance of this unique timepiece. The case is held by four paws in black PVD-coated steel creating RJ-Romain Jerome’s signature X, found across each dial of the brand’s watch collections. A medallion on each case back of the collection shows the flame of freedom lighting up the stars of the American flag with the number of each limited edition delicately engraved. The black hornback strap creates the perfect finish to this symbolic timepiece that will inspire generations to come and remind them of the willpower of their great ancestors.
The black Liberty-DNA is limited to 125 pieces as a nod to its big sister, the original Liberty-DNA model that celebrated Miss Liberty’s 125th Anniversary in 2012.

This exciting collaboration has brought RJ-Romain Jerome’s watchmaking expertise together with the history of the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation to both showcase Swiss artisanal know-how as well as to perpetuate the notion that “Liberty Enlightens the World” for future generations.

About RJ-Romain Jerome
Air, earth, sea: RJ-Romain Jerome offers the raw energy of imagination to those who are capable of nurturing their most secret dreams. Born at the dawn of the 3rd millennium, RJ-Romain Jerome creates the watches of the new horological era. The magic of the Moon, the power of lava, and underwater mysteries are the poetic driving forces behind this creative explosion.
Whether through recovering steel from the Titanic or from the Apollo 11 space shuttle, mingling silver with Moon Dust or sculpting volcano lava, RJ-Romain Jerome asserts its iconoclastic spirit and electrifies tradition by celebrating contemporary legends. Its approach is characterised by a blend of raw character and elaborate refinement, drawing as much on the roar of an erupting volcano as on the writings of H.G. Wells.

A taste for adventure, an all-conquering spirit and visionary avant-gardism merge with the realm of the imagination in the “Titanic-DNA”, “Moon Dust-DNA” and “Eyjafjallajökull-DNA” collections. These three worlds exalt contemporary horizons through a resolutely masculine and contemporary touch. From the ocean depths to the immensity of space, from incandescent lava to age-old minerals, the RJ-Romain Jerome collections are far more than just astonishing watches: they define a new era in watchmaking.

Offering every man a chance to explore a dreamlike new dimension, they also embody the values of their times: a sense of distinctiveness, a need for speed, and a spectacular yet discreetly sophisticated aura of virility. Air, earth and sea: it is now up to everyone to find his own universe, and to give substance to his dream and to his own vision of Time.

The brand shows off modern watch making technology by launching the Chronofighter Oversize Superlight TT. Enhanced with a lightweight black carbon nanotube composite case, the highly shock absorbing watch weighs less than 100g. Let’s hit the road.

Beautiful motorcycles, legendary riders and a stunning limited edition watch; what a perfect combination. They started at 2, then, ten, 20, and even more today (almost 250), riding like crazy. GRAHAM wants to pay tribute to the men who risk their lives in the name of passion by taking part in the TT every year. The limited edition Chronofighter Oversize Superlight TT is a new concept watch dedicated to speed, adrenaline and advanced technology.

Steel has proven its merits but is somewhat ordinary. GRAHAM has developed a case, made of carbon nanotube speckled composite. The watch weighs less than 100 grams. The model contains motorsport design connotations, lightweight material to time with lap time functions.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

The new Superlight chronograph facilitates the measurement of speed thanks to a specific tachymeter scale based on the TT circuit (37.73 miles / 60.7 km). The yellow indicator on the minutes counter is at 17 min (lap record time, 131.578 mph / 211.75 kmh established by John McGuinness). The chrono starts when the race start is given. When the red minutes hand overlaps the yellow marker, the speed can be read in an instant on the scale. The function emphasizes intuitive and immediate reading. The watch demonstrates again GRAHAM’s expertise and passion for challenge.
That’s what rebel with a cause means.

IWC – PILOT’s Watch Chronograph Edition "JU-Air"

IWC PILOT’s Chronograph Edition "JU-Air" NEW

IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN AND JU-AIR: JOINTLY CONQUERING
THE SKIES FOR 20 YEARS

Schaffhausen, 1 July 2014 – For years now, IWC Schaffhausen and the Swiss airline JU-AIR have cultivated a partnership based on a mutual admiration of the Junkers JU-52 aircraft. Of just eight airworthy vintage JU-52s worldwide, one has carried the IWC logo for two decades and, in the year 2000, started out on a circumnavigation of the globe to publicize a new IWC Pilot’s Watch. Time, then, to acknowledge JU-AIR’s outstanding work. In honour of the airline established to keep the vintage aircraft aloft, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “JU-Air”, strictly limited to 500 watches, is ready to take off.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..            BIG FOTO

“In 1994, three of JU-AIR’s JU-52 aircraft flew to Venegono in Italy for the presentation of the latest watch collection from IWC Schaffhausen,” says IWC CEO Georges Kern, recalling the start of the company’s long-standing partnership with the Swiss airline. “We’ve helped subsidize JU-AIR ever since and are proud of the fact that the IWC logo has been so prominent on one of the JU-52 planes for the past 20 years.” An infectious passion for flying, IWC’s Pilot’s Watch tradition – which is almost as old as the historic corrugated sheet metal aircraft itself – together with a flair for classic design and mechanical engineering: these are the ties that bind JU-AIR and IWC Schaffhausen. The Swiss watch manufacturer, which established a tradition for designing and producing Pilot’s Watches in 1936, has now sponsored JU-AIR for exactly 20 years, making this the ideal time to give permission for take-off to the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “JU-Air” (Ref. IW387809) in stainless steel, which is limited to 500 watches.

IN THE COLOURS OF THE SILVER BIRD
The stainless-steel tribute to the JU-AIR has the cockpit instrument look of a classic Pilot’s Watch. The dial of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “JU-Air” is rhodiumplated, with appliqués and both hands picked out in white luminescent material. The result is excellent legibility even under the most demanding conditions. The central chronograph hand shows recorded times in seconds, while the hand on the subdial at “12 o’clock” shows the number of elapsed minutes. The watch has a flyback function, so whenever the reset push-button is pushed, the stopwatch hand returns to zero and immediately starts another timing sequence. The small red seconds hand at “6 o’clock” indicates that the watch is running normally. It can be stopped as needed to synchronize the watch.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ..            BIG FOTO
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “JU-Air” is fitted with the IWC manufactured 89365 calibre, which has a 68-hour power reserve and features a stopwatch to time minutes and seconds. IWC’s designers have modified the date window to make it look like a cockpit instrument: with its vertically arranged numerals, it now resembles an altimeter. A strikingred triangle, by now a typical design feature of IWC’s Pilot’s Watches and inspired by the signal-red elements on an aircraft’s instrument panel, indicates the date. The case back features an engraving of a Junkers JU-52, while the inscription “One out of 500” refers to the limited edition.

THE IWC-JU ON ITS JOURNEY ROUND THE WORLD
In the year 2000, a JU-AIR JU-52 took off in the name of IWC Schaffhausen to circle the globe and created a sensation. HB-HOS set out on its ambitious mission with an image of an oversized Pilot’s Watch decorating its wings. For IWC, it was a spectacular way of launching the new Pilot’s Watch Mark XV in Asian markets. Flying at 180 kilometres per hour, the JU-52 put in stopovers in Athens, Alexandria and Muscat on the way to Pakistan, and landed in Mumbai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. After promotional events in Manila, Hong Kong and Taipei, it reached Sendai airport in Japan. The venture drew the attention of journalists, film crews, watch lovers and aircraft enthusiasts worldwide, and was a major TV event in Asia. It suffered a terminal setback, however, when the Russian authorities refused the aircraft permission to fly in the country’s airspace and forced it to turn round. Despite this, the sensation created in the East exceeded even the most optimistic predictions and turned the IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XV into status symbol.

JU-AIR SECURES THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE JU-52

Wherever the sonorous drone of the three large nine-cylinderradial engines announces the presence of a JU-52, people simply stand and stare. Unveiled in 1939 and now very rare, the silver-coloured aircraft had an enormous following by the time the Swiss Air Force purchased them for pilot training and for transporting passengers and relief supplies. When the veteran aircraft were retired in 1981, Swiss airline JU-AIR, which had been founded specifically for the purpose of saving the JU-52 with its characteristic corrugated steel fuselage, launched a nationwide fund-raising campaign. It generated an unbelievable wave of goodwill and, on a single day alone, raised over 600,000 Swiss francs. Today, just eight airworthy JU-52s remain. The largest fleet, comprising four machines, is maintained and flown by JU-AIR,based in Dübendorf near Zurich, Switzerland. To this day, the JU-52 has remained synonymous with reliability, safety and quality workmanship, leaving its mark on civil aviation like few other aircraft. Privately owned and assisted by a team of enthusiastic volunteers, the company ensures that the legendary aircraft remain in service, and offers sightseeing flights that help to keep the legend up in the skies.

IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN
With a clear focus on technology and development, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has been producing timepieces of lasting value since 1868. The company has gained an international reputation based on a passion for innovative solutions and technical ingenuity. One of the world’s leading brands in the luxury watch segment, IWC crafts masterpieces of haute horlogerie at their finest, combining supreme precision with exclusive design.
