CONCORD - C1 BlackSpider Brilliant

CONCORD - C1 BlackSpider Brilliant NEW

The Sparkling Arachnid-mania Revelation

Amid the stillness of the city, wrapped in a shroud of darkness punctuated by diamond-like sparks from the cityscapes, a mysterious creeping creature appears. Its predatory air and stealthy prowl foreshadow a powerful revelation.
The C1 BlackSpider unveils a dramatic mutation with dazzling diamond brilliance adorning its horological arachnid body parts. This potent and exquisitely shimmering transformation captures the fascinating paradox between the distinctive horological design and authentic prowess in the realm of horological mechanics.

The fascinating arthropod appears to be suspended in mid-air, with eight legs firmly embedded in the generous 47 mm-diameter, 13.55 mm deep ultra-light titanium case – while the movement plate, symbolizing its abdomen and also serving as the watch dial, lies at the bottom of the empty space created by the remarkable depth. The watch movement elements aligned down the middle reveal the nerve center of this mesmerizingly disturbing creature. The rhythmical oscillations of the tourbillon mechanism occupy a space of their own, entirely in tune with the gravity-defying nature of this emblematic beast.

The cut-outs admirably highlight Concord’s fundamental construction principles – including its sturdy design, side-screwed protective ring, “ramparts” protecting the anti-reflective sapphire crystal and fortified crown – while accentuating the “camouflage” effect that helps it merge smoothly into its natural metropolitan environment.

This is a creature that deserves to be viewed from both sides, and the exhibition case-back reveals the handsomely decorated 19-jewel hand-wound C105 movement, with its sandblasted and polished bridges, steadily beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour.

This dramatic new predator clings firmly to the wrist on a black rubberized alligator strap held by four self-locking screws and a smoothly flowing lug-free attachment construction.

A brilliant new form of watchmaking life has escaped from the C Lab: the electrifyingly resplendent C1 BlackSpider Brilliant is out there, thriving in the radiance of the city lights – meticulously spinning its web as it prepares to attract and capture its doubtlessly willing prey.

Girard-Perregaux - Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges

Girard-Perregaux - Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges NEW

The heritage of Girard-Perregaux’s acclaimed Tourbillon with three gold Bridges places itself squarely in the twenty-first century. Combining noble materials and a high-tech finish, its elegance and majestic architecture underscore its singular character. A rarity limited to 50 pieces.

Fashioned in pink gold, the case and the bridges form a striking contrast with the color of the main plate. Its matte anthracite coating is the result of a particular combination of precious materials similar to platinum and draws on cutting-edge technologies. Other elements, such as the barrel, the lower gearwheel bridges and the bridge supports, adopt this finish, resulting in a stunning visual effect.

In a bold leap across time, this limited edition of the Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges offers a new take on a movement whose origins date back to the end of the 19th century. Drawing on the latest technological progress, it concentrates rare technical and Manufacture expertise within its delicately curved Art Deco-inspired case.

The hand-guilloched skeletonized bridges, with their pure, contemporary geometry, are the fruit of extremely delicate design: first finely openworked, they are then carefully hand-polished. Seven days are necessary to obtain a perfect finish, since the numerous closed angles form a considerable challenge. The tourbillon system also requires special attention, as its 72 components must be meticulously assembled inside a diameter of just 12 millimeters. To cap these feats, a precious matte anthracite coating gives this timepiece its distinctive personality.

The self-winding caliber GP9600 movement has an integrated micro-rotor housed under the barrel, patented by Girard-Perregaux. The mechanism’s architecture, also visible through the sapphire back is further enhanced by the matte anthracite-coated components. The Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges is a formidable demonstration of the Manufacture’s expertise. In other words, how aesthetics and technique manage to reinvent and renew the rules of the watchmaking art.

Ulysse Nardin - Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria

Ulysse Nardin - Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria New

The Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus’ boldest sail merchant ship, was often endearingly called the Gallant Maria by her crew. The flagship vessel, used for the explorer’s first expedition in 1492, was regal and daring. Larger than her two sisters, La Niña and La Pinta, the Santa Maria is one of the most important ships in history for what she represented – fearlessness.

With true artistry and unparalleled precision, the Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria from Ulysse Nardin recounts this noble vessel and its story of adventure. Using the ancient and precious cloisonné technique, paired with the fine art of enameling, the stately Santa Maria is paid valiant tribute to in this masterful timepiece. Every detail has been carefully crafted by Ulysse Nardin artisans in vivid color and to exacting specifications. A backdrop of deep blue frames this glorious depiction of the ship with its proud masts and sail, a flag at its top waving freely in the wind, a splash of water coming up from the greenish blue sea to meet the deep grain of the wooden "nao", or cargo ship.

Fearless like its namesake, the Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria is painstakingly created, requiring more than 50 working hours and 26 baking processes to complete each handmade cloisonné dial. Each dial is individually crafted by skilled enameller specialists using the refined decorative technique of cloisonné that produces an unmistakable and undeniably unique work of art. The process is a complicated mix of skill and steady hand, and is one of the most intricate artistic disciplines. Ulysse Nardin revived this lost decorative technique, which counts less than a handful of artists that are masters of the intricate skill.

The astounding aesthetic of the Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria is matched by the timepiece’s technical precision. The self-winding watch is powered by the UN caliber 815 movement that has been COSC Chronometer certified and has a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria joins other original and exquisite timepieces in Ulysse Nardin’s Cloisonné collection, and is available in a limited edition of 30 pieces, each in 18-karat rose gold and white gold.

The Santa Maria stood proud as a true testament to discovery and adventure, crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a voyage that remains etched in world history. The Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria timepiece by Ulysse Nardin shares the same dedication to mastery.

Omega - DeVille Chronograph

Omega - DeVille Co-Axial Chronograph NEW

OMEGA’s De Ville line has long been known not only for its elegant styling but for its introduction of some of the brand’s most important watchmaking innovations. For example, it was in a De Ville in 1999 that OMEGA launched its calibre 2500 equipped with a Co-Axial escapement – the component that since it was released has revolutionized mechanical watchmaking.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

In 2007, the De Ville Hour Vision introduced OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 8500/8501, the movement that demonstrated that OMEGA’s Co-Axial philosophy had truly come of age. And it was in the De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar that the Si14 silicon balance spring made its début, offering an unparalleled level of stability and performance in a series-produced mechanical watch movement.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

The De Ville Chronograph OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 9300/9301 carries on the line’s tradition of classic design and its most innovative technology. It is powered by the chronograph in the brand’s family of proprietary Co-Axial movements. Equipped with OMEGA’s Si14 silicon balance spring, the timepiece is delivered with a four-year warranty. Frequent travellers will appreciate the fact that they can change the hour hand without affecting the minute and second hands – ideal for moving between time zones or for adjusting to the twice yearly time change in most parts of the world.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

This new De Ville Chronograph is available with either a 42 mm 18 Ct red gold case on a brown or blue leather strap, or with a stainless steel case on a stainless steel bracelet or on a black or blue leather strap.

The 18 Ct gold model’s Co-Axial calibre 9301 has an 18 Ct gold rotor and balance bridge; the stainless steel model is powered by the Co-Axial calibre 9300, which has a rhodium-plated rotor and balance bridge.
The two-zone dial has been created in a choice of opaline-silver or blue for the 18 Ct red gold models and opaline-silver or black or blue for the De Ville Chronograph in stainless steel. It has two domed sub-dials. The chronograph sub-dial at 3 o’clock has both the 60-minute and 12-hour counters so reading the elapsed time is intuitive. At the 9 o’clock position is the small seconds hand. The watch has a central chronograph seconds hand as well as 18 Ct gold diamond-polished, facetted central hour and minute hands. Its applied Roman numeral indexes are also crafted from 18 Ct gold, facetted on the sides and ends and fully diamond-polished.

The De Ville Chronograph is water resistant to 10 bar / 100 metres / 330 feet.
With its combination of simple elegance and cutting-edge technology, the De Ville Chronograph Omega Co-Axial Calibre 9300/9301 is a stunning reminder of what a classic, yet highly technical mechanical watch can be.
