To mark the 8th edition of Only Watch, the manufacture has created a unique piece in the charity's colours; a work of art for the wrist, the sale of which will benefit research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Sculpted into the sapphire - one of the most difficult materials to machine – are the signature edges, bevels and facets of the artist Richard Orlinski.

Overcoming this obstacle provides children affected by this degenerative neuromuscular disease with a message full with hope: you can go beyond your dreams, as long as you make every effort to achieve them. The auction will take place on 9 November 2019 in Geneva.

We have been a partner of this esteemed event organised by Only Watch since 2005. Each edition provides us with the opportunity to be more inventive and creative in support of the fight against this rare disorder affecting children. The concept of a unique piece, reminiscent of an objet d'art, means it was only natural for us to partner with sculptor Richard Orlinski this year. We are delighted and extremely proud to contribute to advances in research.

A partner of the biennial auction from the outset, Hublot has redesigned the Classic Fusion Tourbillon Sapphire Orlinski for Only Watch and signed its sapphire as a "Unique piece". The white gold bezel, set with 54 baguette-cut topazes, echoes the facets of the 45 mm case. Entirely transparent, it reveals an openworked architecture - a second nod to the work of the French sculptor - showcasing the gears, tourbillon cage and power reserve. A stylised skeleton calibre merges into the transparent, rubber strap in the colours of Only Watch. It will be delivered in a sapphire gift box, supported by the famous "Wild Kong" by Richard Orlinski. The proud owner will have the opportunity to meet with Richard Orlinski at his art gallery in Paris, a place dedicated entirely to his work.

This timepiece will tour the world - Monaco, Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei - before reaching Geneva for the auction hosted by Christie's, under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II, at the rooms at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues on Saturday 9 November 2019 at 2pm. All the proceeds will be donated to the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy to support medical and scientific research into neuromuscular diseases in general, focussing specifically on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Prince Albert II of Monaco and due to the initiative of Luc Pettavino, President of the Association Monégasque Contre les Myopathies, ONLY WATCH is proud to unveil today the names of the 52 watch brands participating in the 8th edition of the biennial charity auction benefitting research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, as well as the 50 lots that will be auctioned.

This exceptional and unparalleled project supports the battle against a devastating myopathy that affects 1 in 3000 male births on the planet by funding research.

It is expected, this year again, to become the most talked-about topic in the watchmaking industry.

For the second time Christie’s is the auctioneer of choice on November 9 when the 50 one-of-a-kind timepieces will be auctioned at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues at 2 pm (UTC+1).

Since its creation in 2005, ONLY WATCH has raised over CHF40 million. Bayside blue meets Grand Seiko blue

The NISSAN GT-R 50th Anniversary model pays homage to the race-car version of the Skyline 2000 GT-R, and is available until the end of March 2020. The watch design takes inspiration from the GT-R’s iconic blue color, known to car enthusiasts as "Bayside blue", which is reflected in the blue of the ceramic outer case. This ceramic and the inner case made by light high-intensity titanium protects the watch from scratches while fitting comfortably on the wrist and delivers 10 bar water resistance.

The NISSAN racing livery with its distinctive white stripe is reflected in the white crocodile strap and the silver white color of the dial, creating a perfect aesthetic harmony with the blue of its ceramic case.

The Spring Drive movement can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back and the GT-R anniversary emblem in 18K yellow gold is set into the oscillating weight to symbolize the watch’s enhanced accuracy level of ±0.5 seconds per day. The stopwatch measures elapsed time for up to twelve hours and is the perfect caliber with which to celebrate the twin anniversaries of Spring Drive and the NISSAN GT-R.
