Thrills to a fraction of a second

Ready, steady, go – this timepiece is armed for every adventure. Certina's new limited-edition featuring the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP Team colours doesn't shy away from either high speed or a great leap forward. On the contrary: with its state-of-the-art Precidrive™ quartz movement with 1/10 second display and the proven DS Concept for maximum resistance, the new special delivers authentic high performance – just like the motocross team it's named after.

The Certina DS Podium Chronograph 1/10 Sec. Wilvo Yamaha Limited Edition turns measuring time into a breath-taking spectacle. When the push-button is pressed the counter at 2 o'clock displays tenths of a second clearly, with real-time 1/10-of-a-second tracking lasting one minute. The chronograph continues to measure the time when the minute is up, precise to 1/10th of a second, thanks to the reliable Precidrive™ quartz movement driving the watch.

The Limited Edition appears in the colours of "its" motocross team: within the 41 mm stainless steel case, luminous red chronograph hands appear in stark contrast to the blue dial. Super-LumiNova® luminous coating on the hands and indexes ensures optimal legibility in the dark as well. A blue leather strap and the official Wilvo Yamaha MXGP logo on the case back complement the sporty exterior.

The new, numbered chronograph is limited to 450 pieces in all. A few of the numbered watches have already been awarded – for good reason: Wilvo riders Jeremy Seewer, Shaun Simpson and Arnaud Tonus each wear a chronograph whose number matches that on their back: Jeremy the number 91, Shaun the 24 and Arnaud the 4.

Since the beginning of this year Certina is a partner of the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP Team, and Switzerland's MX2 vice World Champion Jeremy Seewer has been riding with Certina since the start of 2017 – and now they're heading to the starting line together, equipped with a special, personal lucky charm.

RADO TRUE THINLINE BRONZE WONDER

Rado is renowned for its avant-garde approach to design and materials, and for leading the way in ceramic watch design. Following last year’s successful introduction of four high-tech ceramic colours to the True Thinline collection, Rado presents the bold True Thinline Bronze.

 Super Ceramics

Rado has been around since 1917, but its heyday began in the swinging sixties when it introduced what it called the world's first scratchproof watch, the DiaStar. In 1986, it added scratch-resistant high-tech ceramic to the bracelet of the Rado Integral (a timepiece that pretty much summed up the stark 1980s aesthetic).

The Sintra, launched in 1993, was the first Rado watch made of cermet, a titanium-based ceramic combined with metal. In 1998 the Ceramica was the first Rado watch chosen to feature patented plasma high-tech ceramic, a fascinating color and material combination that exudes a metallic glow without the use of any metal at all.

This all matters because ceramic is one of the hardest class of materials in the world. While lighter and more scratch resistant than metal, this makes a fussy one to work with. Ceramic is first pressed into the desired shape then baked at an extremely high temperature. After the ceramic is finished cooling, it is milled into the desired shape and polished. Color is created during this heating and cooling process.

Featuring a sparkling bronze dial, curved sapphire crystal and matt brown high-tech ceramic case, the True Thinline Bronze is a celebration of beautiful contrasts. But don’t let its shimmering dial distract you, this coloured ceramic timepiece retains all the benefits of high-tech ceramic.

In addition to being hypoallergenic, it is scratch-resistant. The True Thinline remains, in many ways, the ultimate Rado. Rado’s pioneering development of design and colours proves once again the brand’s mastery of materials.

As well as True Thinline Bronze with scratch resistant matte brown high-tech ceramic case, bronze rock-like dial, curved sapphire crystal, sleek hands, and scratch resistant ceramic matte brown ceramic bracelet guys.
