During the evening, the brand officially launched an auction of exclusive “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” timepieces, with the proceeds going to charities Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. This memorable event was attended by high-profile guests from the annals of sports, entertainment and media. It gave an opportunity for Longines and the couple, both Ambassadors of Elegance, to reminisce about the high points of their decade-long collaboration, especially in connection with the French Open at Roland Garros, of which the brand is the Official Partner.

A jewel of France’s cultural heritage, the prestigious Musée Rodin played host on Saturday to a sensational Charity Gala Dinner organised by Longines to honour two tennis legends it has been closely involved with for a decade, its Ambassadors of Elegance Stefanie Graf and Andre Agassi.

To mark this anniversary, Longines created a special watch, numbered and limited to 10 pieces for the men’s version and 10 pieces for the ladies’ version: the “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations”. As part of the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” collection, these exceptional timepieces are also an emblem of generosity, as they will be auctioned with all proceeds going to Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, two charities founded by the Ambassadors of Elegance.

Representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” combines great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. The models in this line are driven by a movement developed exclusively for Longines, which stands out from other analogue watches by its extreme accuracy (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. Alongside these benefits, it also offers extended battery life and a perpetual calendar.

The men’s version of the “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” features a black dial, while the ladies’ model displays a white mother-of-pearl dial and a case set with 70 diamonds. In tribute to the Roland Garros tournament, of which Longines is an Official Partner, both versions feature touches of orange on their hands, indexes and the rubber strap, as a nod to the iconic Parisian clay courts. Both models bear an engraved logo on the case back, The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education on the men’s version and Children for Tomorrow on the ladies’. Finally, a special box, also featuring the Roland Garros colours, encases these two exceptional timepieces, numbered from 1 to 10.

Acquired by Longines during the charity gala dinner for an amount of USD 100,000, the first pieces numbered 1/10 will be displayed in the brand’s Museum, in Saint-Imier. The other nine sets are currently available for purchase, in an auction set to end at 6 pm (UTC+2) on 2 July 2018 on www.longines.com/auction. The generous buyers will be personally presented with the watches by Stefanie Graf or Andre Agassi, during a visit to their respective foundations in Hamburg or Las Vegas.

MONTBLANC – Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked

MONTBLANC Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked Automatic White Gold

Contemporary Aesthetics And Pure Lines:
The Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Collection

These new timepieces feature new refined 40-mm thin cases with new dial aesthetics, bringing technicity and contemporary elegance. For the new models, the polished cases have been completely reworked with slimmer horns to emphasise the patented Exo Tourbillon mechanism and the Perpetual calendar complication.

Furthermore, the distinctive dials have also been redesigned with contemporary aesthetics and pure lines. They come in either 3-Dimensional construction, sapphire crystal or in a skeletonized version that depicts a dazzle-camouflage pattern.

To complete the overall look, these timepieces are fitted with brand-new dark-blue-coloured straps coming from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence. For utmost performance and precision, these three new models are certified by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500.

The Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie
Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked

Montblanc unveils a new one-of-a-kind squeletonized timepiece — the Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked — offering a modern expression of the Exo Tourbillon complication in a contrasting dark grey and blue aesthetic. Both sides of the movement and the dial have been skeletonized using a dazzle-camouflage design that gives a trompe l’oeil effect. This new and exclusive way of opening the movement and dial brings a technical and innovative sophistication to the timepiece.

Dazzle-camouflage is a popular motif used today in fashion, although it was originally a design technique used in World War I to camouflage the sides of ships. The bright, cubist-style patterns were designed to confuse the enemy and make it difficult to estimate a ship’s range, speed and direction. The geometric shapes use contrasting colours that interrupt and intersect each other and bring a unique 3-Dimensional aesthetic.

The components of the movement mirror this dazzle-camouflage design aesthetic through their skeletonization and different finishings. A closer look reveals wheels which have been rhodium coated and satinated, a barrel that has been skeletonized to reveal the spring, a rhodium-coated micro-rotor with a new finishing and a main plate featuring a black rhodium coating with micro-blasted and sandblasted finishings adorned with blued screws.

The new Exo Tourbillon bridge with its semi-hexagonal shape and balance wheel has been coated with rhodium, completing the look with 18 screws, two of which are in gold for regulation purposes. To complete the aesthetic, the bridge has been both polished and mirror polished.

To reveal the beauty of the movement, the sophisticated and technical dial has also been skeletonised according to the design of the movement. It is made of two parts with a dark blue ring surrounding the Exo Tourbillon which indicates the seconds. The rest of the dial features the dazzle-camouflage decoration that gives this timepiece its unique look.

The Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked comes with blued sword-shaped hands and the new blue-colour alligator strap, providing utmost elegance.
