LONGINES – HERITAGE Legend Diver Watch Black

LONGINES HERITAGE Legend DIVER Watch 1960s Black PVD Steel 42mm

The Longines Legend Diver Watch:
understated Elegance in black

Building on its rich history, Longines has chosen to revisit some of the historic timepieces upon which its reputation is founded. An iconic watch in the Swiss watchmaker’s Heritage line, The Longines Legend Diver Watch is the 1960s diving watch reimagined. Maintaining the style codes and design elements typical of the era, Longines has applied modern expertise to this contemporary edition to guarantee legibility, water-resistance and practicality. Longines presents a new version with black PVD coating that combines a modern look with traditional elegance and performance.

Longines has long been associated with the high-profile adventures of pioneers in their quest to push their limitations, especially when it comes to discovering the undersea world. The Longines Legend Diver Watch, a reimagination of a diving watch from the 1960s – the heyday of undersea exploration and military and sports diving – remains true to the bold styling that made the original timepiece such a great success. The Swiss watchmaker is now offering a black version that is emblematic of the combination of sports and elegance and that integrates the exclusive L888 caliber.

The lines of the original watch have been preserved, including the boxed glass and the bidirectional internal turning diving bezel, which serve as reminders of the technical limitations of the era. While upholding the 1960s spirit of this legendary timepiece, Longines has also equipped it with contemporary and high-performance technical characteristics, including a black PVD coating for a resolutely modern design, a sapphire crystal, two crowns and a screw-down back to guarantee water-resistance to 30 bar. The bezel is activated and stopped by the crown located at 2 o’clock, allowing the wearer to determine the remaining dive time.

The indexes, numerals and hands, adorned with Super LumiNova®, pop from the black lacquered dial for optimum legibility, which is further enhanced by the plain, clean typeface used for the numerals 6, 9 and 12. The steel case is coated with a 42 mm layer of black PVD, and contains an automatic mechanical movement that is exclusive to Longines, with the illustration of a diver engraved on the screw-down back.

A Milanese-style black rubber strap equipped with a folding titanium clasp treated with black PVD and an integrated diving extension complete this timepiece.

BLANCPAIN – VILLERET Binchōtan - Unique pieces

BLANCPAIN VILLERET Metiers d'Art studio - Binchōtan Gold Edition - Unique pieces

Binchōtan is a Japanese charcoal made using traditional methods dating back over 400 years. Its remarkable quality lies essentially in its density, resulting from the slow combustion of Ubamegashi (Holm oak) in a clay oven heated to temperatures ranging from 1000 to 1300 degrees Celsius.

The swift firing process, followed by rapid cooling, reduces the tree’s bark to ashes before yielding a smooth surface boasting a hardness comparable to that of steel.

In this watch, the power-reserve indicator is placed on a bridge on the reverse of the movement, visible through the sapphire case back.

This movement achieves an 8-day power reserve thanks to its construction with three series-coupled mainspring barrels that unwind in succession.

The second barrel takes over from the first before its strength is depleted, and then the third barrel does the same. This construction thereby guarantees the movement’s precision.
