Binchōtan is a Japanese charcoal made using traditional methods dating back over 400 years. Its remarkable quality lies essentially in its density, resulting from the slow combustion of Ubamegashi (Holm oak) in a clay oven heated to temperatures ranging from 1000 to 1300 degrees Celsius.

The swift firing process, followed by rapid cooling, reduces the tree’s bark to ashes before yielding a smooth surface boasting a hardness comparable to that of steel.

The new Manero Flyback has a discreet ­stainless steel case with a black dial that forms an elegant unit together with a dark brown alligator-leather strap. This impressive new version houses the intricate CFB 1970 chronograph caliber with the namesake flyback function, providing an opportunity for individuals to showcase a piece of Lucerne craftsmanship on their wrist.

Individual Luxury Watch

The new Manero Flyback is the sixth addition to the collection, providing discerning individuals with a distinct and unique individual luxury watch. Housed in a discreetly elegant stainless steel case with a deep black dial, this piece warrants more than just a second glance. It gleams with a sunburst finish, while the recessed, matte small-seconds and stop minute subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock provide a beautiful contrast. Lancet-shaped, polished steel-colored hands that correspond to the appliquéd indices display hours and minutes.

The watch’s other hands – small seconds, stop second, and minutes counter – are painted white, matching the printed chapter ring and the tachymeter scale, which allows for speeds to be determined. The appearance of the new model is rounded off with a dark brown alligator-leather strap. Whether the wearer chooses the Manero in rose gold or stainless steel, and regardless of which dial or strap they opt for, ­everyone is sure to find a stylish companion. The caliber of the Manero Flyback is the highly complex CFB 1970 chronograph, which can be admired through the see-through sapphire-crystal case back, oscillating at a frequency of 4 hertz or 28,800 beats per hour. This automatic movement boasts a power reserve of 42 hours and features a flyback function that allows for the recording of consecutive times in quick succession. The recording of short times operates via a thermally blued gear wheel.
