Now presenting its 7th Edition, Only Watch is a biennale auction of unique timepieces that has raised over 25 million Euros to date. Under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and following the initiative of Luc Pettavino, President of the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, Only Watch is an international watchmaking charity event.

All of the funds collected from the sale of the watches are donated in their entirety to scientific and medical research. The exclusive watches will embark on a world tour starting in the charity’s hometown of Monaco, and then continuing to Asia, the Gulf, the United States and Europe, before the final auction in Geneva on November 11th 2017.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in black ceramic - Only Watch piece unique - evokes the last moments of light cast by the sun as darkness descends on the evening sky, reflected by the ‘skylight’ blue Grande Tapisserie dial, polished counters in solid grey gold and orange-tinted photo realistic moon.

Juxtaposed against the entirely hand-finished black ceramic Royal Oak case, bezel and bracelet, the transition from the blue, orange and silver counters to the pitch black of night is a powerful combination. In addition to the unique dial, the Only Watch unique piece is the first black ceramic perpetual calendar wristwatch to feature a black ceramic caseback with sapphire display back revealing a unique hand-finished black oscillating mass.

Black ceramic withstands high temperatures and thermal shocks, and is consequently extremely resistant to ageing. Numerous operations demanding extreme patience and skill are required to achieve a uniform, compact and ultra-hard material that can then be machined and hand-finished.

Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars with a full black version, made of hand-finished black ceramic. Day, date, month, astronomical moon, week of the year displayed on the dial’s outer chapter ring and the essential leap year indication hold pride of place on the “Grande Tapisserie” decorated dial.

Housed in an assertively sized 41 mm case, the selfwinding watch’s larger manufacture calibre 5134 is fully visible through the glareproofed sapphire crystal caseback. Engraved on the back of the timepiece "Unique Piece", developed exclusively for - Only Watch.

The dial, with “Grande Tapisserie” pattern, is unique royal blue ‘Skylight’ with counters solid gold silver-toned and displays a photo realistic astronomical moon that contrasts orange–tinted with all of the black components of the piece.

Schaffhausen, 30 June 2017 – Ferdinand A. Porsche designed the Aquatimer Ocean 2000 for IWC Schaffhausen back in 1982. With its avant-garde design, this extremely pressure-resistant diver’s watch was years ahead of its time. In celebration of the 35th birthday of this style icon, IWC is now releasing a special limited edition with a thickness of just 14.5 millimetres.

Limited to 350 watches, the Aquatimer Automatic 2000 Edition “35 Years Ocean 2000” (Ref. IW329101) is the thinnest deep-sea diver’s watch in IWC’s collection. Despite­ the minimal case height, it functions reliably on dives of up to 2,000 metres – thanks to the new, improved shape of the titanium case.

IWC pioneered the use of titanium for watch cases and boasts over 30 years of experience in processing this lightweight, extremely resilient material. A diver’s helmet for deep-sea divers is engraved on the back of the watch, reminding the owner each day of its extreme pressure-resistance of 200 bar.

Design features such as the black dial, the white hands and indices coated with luminescent paint and the red tip of the seconds hand are inspired by the Ocean 2000. The striking recessed grips on the rotating bezel and the lamellar-style rubber strap pay tribute to the Porsche original from 1982.

THE IWC SAFEDIVE SYSTEM
PROVIDES EXTRA SAFETY

When diving with compressed air, divers must always keep an eye on the time to make sure they don’t put themselves in danger by returning to the surface too quickly. On the Aquatimer watches from IWC, the dive time can be set using the rotating bezel for extra safety.

The innovative SafeDive system ensures that the bezel can only be ad-justed by turning it anticlockwise. So even if the bezel is accidentally moved, zero hour – the time at which the diver stops – is never exceeded. Last but not least, the rubber strap on this Aquatimer model can easily be replaced with another strap thanks to the quick-change system.

The limited Aquatimer special edition will be available in IWC boutiques and from authorised IWC retailers from July 2017.
