29 May 2017, Le BrassusAudemars Piguet celebrated the 50th anniversary of mythical Hotel Byblos during the holiday week-end with a joint event in Saint-Tropez where the new Royal Oak Offshore Summer Editions were presented for the first time.

Legendary World and Olympics judo champion Teddy Riner, ambassador of Audemars Piguet, joined Antoine Chevanne, owner of Hotel Byblos, François-Henry Bennahmias, Chief Executive Officer of Audemars Piguet and Nicolas Besançon, CEO of Audemars Piguet France, to celebrate this new milestone.

Antoine Chevanne remembers: “The cooperation began two years ago when I met with François-Henry at the Audemars Piguet manufacture in Le Brassus. I presented the Byblos Exclusive Series' concept to him and he immediately loved it before deciding to rename it B.A.P’ (pronounced Be Happy) for BYBLOS - Audemars – Piguet’.

François-Henry Bennahmias agrees: “Antoine and I got on really well from the moment we met. Not only is he a watch lover, but there was this instantaneous dynamic between the two of us with a similar vision of the future. The new Royal Oak Offshore models launched for Hotel Byblos’ celebration were created in two versions: a women’s diamond set version in stainless steel and a men's piece in rose gold.

Both feature a caseback engraved with the hotel’s anniversary dates and its coat of arms depicting the myth of the Byblos: the abduction of Europa by Zeus.

8 May 2017, Le Brassus – On May 26th, Audemars Piguet will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Le Byblos Saint-Tropez with two new and exclusive timepieces. For the first time in the history of the brand, the Swiss watchmaker has created a limited edition model dedicated to the Byblos hotel, tailoring its bold and audacious Royal Oak Offshore design to the equally legendary French institution aesthetic codes.

Created in 1993, the Royal Oak Offshore is one of the very first oversized wristwatches to have taken the market by storm and since then the collection keeps defying conventions thanks to its sportier and more powerful take on its older sister the Royal Oak.

This summer, two new Royal Oak Offshore models are launched exclusively for the Byblos’ celebration: a women’s diamond set version in stainless steel, and a men's piece in rose gold.

The women’s piece is waterproof to 50 meters with a stainless steel case, screw-locked crown and pushpieces, a silver dial with “Lady Tapisserie” motif and luminescent coating on rose gold hands. The bezel is set with 32 brilliant cut diamonds, for a total of 1.02 carats.

Meanwhile, the “his” version is an 18-carat pink gold Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph featuring blue transfers as well as pink gold hands and hour markers on a “Mega Tapisserie” dial. The men's model is waterproof to 100 meters.

To highlight this half-a-century anniversary, the caseback of both Royal Oak Offshore Summer Editions are engraved with the hotel’s anniversary dates and its coat of arms depicting the abduction of Europa by Zeus.

Revealing a new Speedmaster watch for the winners of the Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication


At a special press conference at the Royal Society in London, the Starmus Festival announced a brand new partnership with OMEGA.

The Starmus Festival is a combination of science, art and music, and its goal is to help the general public understand and appreciate science. As part of its partnership, OMEGA is proudly supporting the Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication. The Medal recognises people who promote science through different disciplines such as music, arts and cinema. On June 20th this year at the Starmus Festival, three winners will be selected from three categories including: Science Writing; Films; and Music and Art.

OMEGA will present the winners with a brand new 18K yellow gold OMEGA Speedmaster watch. On the back of the watch, the brand has included a unique engraving that mirrors the design of the actual medal itself. This includes an image of the cosmonaut Alexei Leonov during the first ever human spacewalk as well as the “Red Special” guitar of Queen’s Brian May.

Raynald Aeschlimann, the President and CEO of OMEGA, spoke on stage during the announcement and shared his views on the new partnership. “As we know in watchmaking, it’s not always easy to communicate new innovation or complex technology. In science, I’m sure it’s the same. That’s why we recognise the importance of the Starmus Festival. It embraces creativity to help the general public understand and appreciate everything about science. This partnership is something very new and different for OMEGA. But our brand has a strong history within science and we wanted to maintain our commitment to this important area.
