HYT – H2 Alinghi Limited Edition

HYTH2 ALINGHI Titanium Limited Edition NEW

HYT sets sail once more!

For the second year of their partnership, HYT and Alinghi hoist their sails even higher with the H2 Alinghi which follows in the wake of the H4 Alinghi‘It’s a very successful twosome – just like the Alinghi team, twice winner of the America’s Cup, says Vincent Perriard, Member of the board & co-founder of HYT.

For the first time in its history, HYT has built an H2 with a full untreated titanium case. This is also the very first H2 to feature the new black liquid, unveiled at the beginning of the year. The H2’s caliber has been suitably adapted: for the first time, it’s been crafted in two tone black and grey; above it glides a brand new central minutes hand, drawing inspiration from marine-style hands.

The new interplay between grey and black gives the watch an appearance that’s both technical and elegant, further highlighted by the bezel rider tab, which in another first, sports a rounded shape to accommodate the Alinghi logo. Lastly, the hour flange has also been redesigned with a twin satin/glass blasted effect, making the hour markers stand out both more clearly and more gently. The piece is mounted on a new ultra-resistant technical strap in matching shades.

Maintaining its original diameter of 48.8 mm, the timepiece will be produced in a limited edition of just 25, available from June 2016.

 HYT in a few words

HYT’s Hydromechanical Horologists have turned fantasy into reality, mixing mechanics and
liquid within a wristwatch. While addicted to non-conformism, these alchemists have
drawn upon the strictest codes of fine watchmaking, and shattered them.

The  principle

Two flexible reservoirs with a capillary attached at each end. In one, a coloured liquid; in
the other, a transparent one. Keeping them apart is the repulsion force of the molecules in
each fluid.

The hours are indicated by the coloured liquid released from a flexible reservoir
compressed by a piston. These reservoirs, or bellows, are located at six o’clock and are
made from a supple alloy. The first coloured liquid travels through the capillary pushing
the transparent one back into its own reservoir and then returning to its original position at
six o’clock in what is referred to as a retrograde manner.

The two reservoirs at 06:00. While the first compresses, the second expands, and the
other way round, resulting in the movement of the liquid in the capillary. As the hours go
by, the coloured liquid advances. The meniscus, in the shape of a half moon, marks the
separation point with the other fluid in the tube, indicating the time. At 18:00, the coloured
liquid comes back to its original position, going backwards.

The secret that gets the reservoirs going? Two bellows made of a highly resistant, flexible
alloy, each driven by a piston. And this is where watchmaking comes in to activate the
system.

HYT
is continuing its all-encompassing quest for hybridisation by introducing its H2 in
2014, and the very new H3. This timepiece was born of a vision shared by the teams of
HYT and Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi overseen by Giulio Papi.

DeLaneauGuardian Angel White Gold Tourbillon Grand Feu Enamelled Dial Unique Piece NEW

With the arrival of warm summer evenings and twinkling stars decorating our sky, we are proud to present one of our latest creations: The DeLaneau Guardian Angel pièce unique, which celebrates our key signature, the art of Grand Feu enamelling. Let us embark you on a new journey to the discovery of this exceptional timepiece.

Angels have always featured prominently in the DeLaneau universe and in our designs. Our angels are usually depicted in monochrome, but the idea here was to explore the Renaissance style, with its pursuit of physical realism and use of unnatural colouring and lighting.

This creation majestically showcases the combination of two techniques that are valuable hallmarks of our brand: la peinture miniature sous fondant (miniature painting with flux enamel), a method known as the Geneva technique, and paillonné enamelling.

The idea behind this outstanding creation came from a quote from Jacques Maritain about the possible origin of our inspiration, and how it perhaps comes to us, “whispered into our ear by our guardian angel”. The initial sketches by our artisan enamellist depicted an angel blowing leaves through the sky.

As she started working on the dial itself, the idea of using paillon enamel came to her, and the leaves thus became stars. This moment of inspiration reminds us that enamel is always the element that guides us as we shape our creations. At DeLaneau we benefit from unlimited freedom to express our ideas.
