When Jack Heuer started to work on a new chronograph specifically designed for drivers and motor-racing enthusiasts in 1963, he knew exactly what was needed for the motor racing drivers:  a wide-open, easy-to-read dial with a shock-resistant and waterproof case tough enough for road wear. The following year this life-long fan of motor racing launched the result, a mechanical, manual-wound chronograph called the Carrera. For the name, he reached back to a racing legend from the 1950s, the Carrera Pan Americana, a five-day, 3,300 kilometers (2,100 mile) race across Mexico. The most prestigious — and dangerous — endurance race of its day, the Carerra, which in Spanish means “competition of the highest order” remains synonymous with excitement, danger, adventure, and heroism.

CARRERA (39mm) Calibre 6, COSC certified

This new silver and blue three-hand piece, with a touch of red on the flange’s “60”, the HEUER logo and the second hand, looks like a colored tribute to the original 1963 Carrera design.

The blue small second counter matches the blue vintage perforated  leather strap. The HEUER logo on the clasp of the strap personifies the style up to the tiniest details. The silver, blue and red combination gives to this watch a very retro-trendy look.

This three-hands is powered by the prestigious COSC-certified Calibre 6, with a power reserve of 44 hours and a beautiful decoration, “Côtes de Genève” on the oscillating mass.

Eventually the glassbox makes its look more airy, more pure, truly in this vintage inspiration.

Classic yet unconventional, the HEUER Carrera suits perfectly to those who appreciate standout design. Collectors and fashion lovers should go for it straight away.

CARRERA (39mm) Calibre 18 – Automatic Chronograph 
The vintage look and shape of this new black and silver chronograph,  is also based on Jack Heuer’s Carrera design. That makes it look like the original two-counter Carrera of the sixties, a collector’s favorite with the black chronograph counter at nine o’clock and the second one at three. It is not a standard chronograph, it has a telemeter scale on the flange, an old tool imagined for military, to measure distance of artillery fire, based on the speed of sound. Why not using it during a thunderstorm to know how far from you it is? A unique feature in the recent TAG Heuer collections.

The black perforated leather strap along with the shape of the push-buttons as well as the small 39 mm-dial enhance this retro taste. The clasp of the strap is signed by the engraved HEUER logo, making it unique up to the tiniest details.

The dial is branded HEUER with the vintage logo, this special branding is a signature for a unique timepiece, a link between history and modernity.

To go further on this vintage vibe, the movement is placed under a glassbox, making the whole design look thinner.

Following the launch of the very first Spirit of Big Bang last year,
Hublot is launching the SPIRIT OF BIG BANG "ALL BLACK"

Totally black, totally matt and totally faithful to Hublot's signature concept, the Spirit of Big Bang is Hublot's first All Black watch with a tonneau case. It's finally here. And indeed, it fully embodies the spirit of BIG BANG. It is Hublot's pure DNA. It is the fusion of the unique All Black concept invented by Hublot with the famous Spirit of Big Bang watch with a tonneau case, now available in an All Black version, in a limited edition of only 500 numbered pieces, as is always the case for Hublot's All Black series.

Featuring a tonneau case, the Spirit of Big Bang All Black has all the codes of the BIG BANG: the 6 H-shaped screws through the bezel, the lugs on either side, the two strap attachments, Hublot's famous hands and baton indices, and the overmoulded rubber screw-down crown adorned with the iconic letter H. It also shares the same design as the BIG BANG with a unique case construction employing an intelligent "sandwich" principle and the design of the case middle, with its sides which give the timepiece a sophisticated look, making it one of a kind in the Big Bang range. It also employs the same principle of the fusion of materials with titanium, ceramic, rubber, etc.

The beating heart of the piece is the new Hublot HUB4700 movement, redesigned through close collaboration between Hublot and Zénith teams; based on a Zenith El Primero chronograph "chassis" with date (frequency 5 Hz, 36,000 beats per hour, 278 components, 31 jewels), this movement has historically been regarded by purists as one of the best Swiss chronographs ever developed.

Given the full Hublot makeover in terms of its architecture and finishes, this automatic skeleton movement with a 50-hour power reserve can be appreciated thanks to its sapphire dial which reveals the full beauty of the skeleton mechanism including its date disc. It also provides greater assurance against counterfeiting. The watch features a date window positioned at 4.30, a central chrono seconds hand and three timers at 9 o'clock (seconds), 3 o'clock (30 minutes) and a small one at 6 o'clock (hours); the whole piece is completed by an alligator strap stitched onto black rubber for the ultimate in comfort and flexibility. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres.
