The L.U.C 8HF caused a sensation at the time of its launch in 2012. This exceptional timepiece housed L.U.C 01.06-L, the first ever movement with a high-frequency escapement to be chronometer-certified by the COSC. Beating at a frequency of 8 Hz – compared with 4 Hz for ordinary mechanical movements – meaning 57,600 vibrations per hour, this mechanical movement was conceived, developed and perfected by Chopard Technologies in Fleurier.

57,600 vibrations/hour, COSC certified

After several years of studies and development, the engineers and watchmakers of Chopard Technologies, our horological research division, have succeeded in perfecting a mechanical movement beating at a frequency of 8 Hz, meaning 57,600 vibrations per hour and meeting the most stringent Swiss watchmaking standards. The primary value of high frequency in watchmaking applications lies in a significant improvement in the precision timekeeping properties of a calibre, particularly in terms of rate resumption and stability.

L.U.C 01.09-L movement is distinguished by the highly adaptable nature of its high-frequency escapement. It is indeed compatible with almost all existing L.U.C movements developed by the Chopard Manufacture, although it is currently reserved for special and exclusive versions. In terms of materials, the engineers at Chopard Technologies decided to work with silicon for certain escapement components (impulse-pin, lever, escape wheel) and developed a new means of fixing silicon on steel (patent pending).

L.U.C 8HF Power Control: new materials for a technological challenge

The new L.U.C 8HF Power Control takes on even greater character and technical sophistication thanks to a new design. It now comes in high-grade black machined ceramic. The various production, assembly and design constraints relating to this material forced the Chopard engineers to entirely revise the case assembly.

This model is water-resistant to 100 metres and presents a DLC-coated titanium case-band, allowing a broad bezel diameter, along with a ceramic crown at 4 o’clock bearing the L.U.C logo. This resolutely avant-garde model features monobloc matt black ceramic lugs and case-back, as well as a screw-down crown guard with the same finish. A sapphire crystal built into the half-closed case-back is positioned just above the high-frequency escapement, providing a chance to appreciate its finer details.

Ulysse Nardin – Marine Diver

Ulysse NardinMarine Diver NEW

Marine Diver & Lady Diver.

The fully redesigned Marine Diver showcases all the qualities of a genuine diving watch, with its screw-locked crown, rotating bezel and case that is water-resistant to 300 meters. The equally sporty women’s version measures a perfect 40 mm in diameter.

The marine world holds no secrets from Ulysse Nardin. Having contributed to the conquest of the oceans through the development of its legendary marine chronometers, the watchmaker has now anchored its impressive know-how in the sub-aquatic depths.

Fully redesigned, the popular Marine Diver is both a highly reliable diving instrument and a fine sports watch that can be worn on every occasion. This stunning piece is also available for women in the form of the Lady Diver, which is less imposing in size but equally appealing to the eye.
Everything about the Marine Diver evokes the marine world in which the Le Locle watchmaker is steeped, starting with Ulysse Nardin’s anchor emblem, proudly displayed at 2 o’clock. The dial, in blue or black, is decorated with a wave-like motif.
The same ornamentation can be seen on the bezel. The solid case-back reveals an engraving of a boat surrounded by the inscription: “Conquer the ocean.” This embellishes a new case designed for extreme conditions, extended by the lugs with their taut, sleek lines.

In terms of performance, this watch has all the attributes required of a diving watch. Boasting exceptional water resistance to 300 meters, made possible thanks to the screw-locked crown and case-back, it also features a unidirectional rotating bezel, which prevents any accidental adjustment to the dive time. For the same safety reasons, every aspect of the new Marine Diver has been designed to facilitate the reading of its precious indications: The impressive 44 mm face displays large hour-markers and hands with a white luminescent coating and a red stripe, for perfect visibility.

The small seconds at 6 o'clock are also oversized, offering a reassuring sign that the watch is functioning as it should, even in the water’s murky depths. Lastly, the claw-shaped rubber molding over the crown ensures it is easy to grip, even with diving gloves.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Powered by the self-winding caliber UN-26 and with a power reserve of 42 hours, the new Marine Diver displays, in addition to its time functions, the date in an aperture at 6 o’clock and the power reserve in a counter at 12 o’clock.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

It is available in steel, mounted on a rubber strap or steel bracelet.
Slightly more petite with a diameter of 40 mm, the Lady Diver would also be suited to a man’s wrist.

OMEGA – Speedmaster Professional APOLLO 11 - 45th Anniversary

OMEGA –  Speedmaster Professional APOLLO 11 - 45th Anniversary Limited Edition NEW

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

In July of 1969, two NASA astronauts became the first human beings ever to set foot on the surface of a celestial body. When Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped onto the Moon, they had met the challenge delivered only a few years earlier by President John F. Kennedy. The feat has been described as one of mankind’s crowning technological achievements and OMEGA was literally on hand on this historic occasion.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Strapped around his spacesuit, Buzz Aldrin had an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional chronograph. Neil Armstrong had left his own Speedmaster aboard the Lunar Landing Module as a reliable backup to the electronic timekeeping system.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Limited Edition wristwatch commemorates the first lunar landing and celebrates its link to the iconic chronograph that was part of the adventure.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Recalling the colours of the moon and the Apollo 11 lunar and command modules, the Limited Edition timepiece features a grey, completely brushed 42 mm grade-2 titanium case with a touch of gold.

The black PVD dial, with its 30-minute and 12-hour recorders and small seconds sub-dial, has been produced using a special laser which creates the design elements on the watch’s face by removing the material surrounding the name, sub-dial numerals and hour markers. The indexes and hour, minute, seconds and sub-dial hands are crafted from 18K red gold and the central chronograph hand is red gold-plated.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Super-LumiNova coating the hour, minute and chronograph seconds hands as well as the hour markers and two dots at 12 o’clock emits a green light. A box-form scratch-resistant sapphire crystal coated with anti-reflective treatment on both sides protects this impressive dial. The 18K OMEGA Sedna™ gold bezel is enhanced by a matt black ceramic ring with a tachymeter scale, a defining design element of the Speedmaster collection.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

The screw-in caseback is embossed with the iconic Seahorse emblem and the outer circle is engraved in black with “FLIGHT QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS”, “THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON” and “APOLLO 11, 45TH ANNIVERSARY, LIMITED EDITION, 0000/1969”.

Another striking feature of the Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Limited Edition watch is the NATO-inspired fabric strap.

The timepiece has been created in an edition limited to 1,969 pieces. The limited edition number reflects the significant year that the first humans walked on the moon. The Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Limited Edition wristwatch is fitted with the calibre 1861, a manual-winding chronograph movement, and offered with a two-year warranty.
It is water resistant to 5 bar (50 metres / 167 feet). The watch is delivered in a special presentation box along with its Certificate of Authenticity.

Glashütte Original – Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date

Glashütte Original 20th Century Vintage Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date NEW

A sporty chronograph with distinctive vintage appeal

Glashütte Original introduces the new Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, the most recent addition to its popular 20th Century Vintage Collection, featuring an entirely new chronograph movement designed and built in the German watchmaker’s manufactory in Glashütte.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date debuts at Baselworld 2014 in three versions with dials in galvanised ruthenium, galvanized silver or blue. All three timepieces feature the Seventies collection’s characteristic soft-cornered square stainless steel case and bezel complemented by a range of bracelets in stainless steel, leather and rubber.

The art of the chronograph

Glashütte Original embodies the historic tradition of fine mechanical watchmaking dating back to
1845 in the Saxon town. The manufactory is renowned for a number of extraordinary
complications, among them exquisitely engineered chronographs; the new Calibre 37-02 is
conceived and built specifically as an integrated chronograph movement.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

The manufactory’s inhouse design team has implemented a unique combination of features: central stop seconds hand, 30 minute and 12 hour counters with flyback mechanism; small seconds counter with power reserve indicator (70 hours), and Glashütte Original’s compelling implementation of the Panorama Date display.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

In contrast to more complex constructions, the automatic 4 Hz column wheel Calibre 37-02 has
been designed to be as simple and compact as possible.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Mounted within the Seventies Collection’s 40 x 40 mm stainless steel case, its moderate size and essential simplicity enhance its stability and render the movement less susceptible to interference, resulting in superior performance over time.

A stylish, elegant vintage look

Glashütte Original created the Seventies Panorama Date with the 1970s in mind, an era of exciting new shapes and developments in design. The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date renews the spirit of the collection, presenting essential, elegant dial visuals: the small seconds dial with black and white power reserve indicator appears at 9 o’clock, the 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

A somewhat smaller, very stylish hour counter shows Arabic numerals from 1 to 12 in a window centred just below 12 o'clock, harmoniously counter-balanced on the lower half of the dial by the Saxon watchmaker’s signature Panorama Date display.

A simplified column wheel mechanism
The new chronograph movement presents a simplified column wheel mechanism with fewer
individual parts. The oscillation system features a bi-directional rotor; the 70-hour power reserve is
managed by a single spring barrel.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Regulation is performed using four gold screws on the balance rim; the absence of a regulator on the spring allows the movement to run continuously over a much longer period of time, resulting in increased precision.

The chronograph start and stop functions are activated by the pusher at the upper right side of the case, the flyback mechanism by the pusher at the lower right.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...

Pressing the flyback pusher halts the on-going chronographic time measurement; the 12-hour chronograph disc and the chronograph minute and second hands “fly” back to zero. The time measurement does not stop, however, but rather begins immediately a new measurement as soon as the flyback pusher is released.

Emblematic finishings
The new manufactory chronograph from Glashütte Original presents characteristic features and
finishing for which the Saxon watchmaker is famous. A sapphire crystal, antireflective on both
sides, protects the dial side, while a second sapphire crystal set in the case back opens up the
automatic movement for closer inspection.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Among the exquisite features on view are the rotor and chronograph bridges mounted on the Glashütte three-quarter plate; Glashütte stripe finish on the automatic bridge, blued screws, and the central skeletonized 21-ct gold rotor with double-G logo.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

Also of interest to connoisseurs is the novel oscillation system regulated by four gold screws, easily visible through the case back’s sapphire crystal.

Click on the mouse wheel to see the large size ...           BIG FOTO

The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date models are available with a choice of straps: blue, grey and black Louisiana Alligator leather straps complement the blue, ruthenium and silver dial models respectively; a functional black rubber strap is available for all three, as is the sporty stainless steel link bracelet.
