AN ARRAY OF HAND-FINISHING
Manufacture Royale cultivates the art of haute horlogerie through the care devoted to the finishing and decorating of each individual component by hand. This is expressed in the MR03 by the fine-sandblasted bridges and mainplate, which are also hand-chamfered and black-polished with satin or perlage finish, and by straight-grained flanks on the inside and outside.

As a tribute to the year Voltaire established his prestigious horology firm in Switzerland, the luxury watch brand Manufacture Royale launches 1770, an exceptional mechanical timepiece integrated with an in house developed flying tourbillon.

An illustrious figure of the Enlightenment as well as an entrepreneur, Voltaire established his Manufacture Royale in 1770, close to Geneva. Several thousand timepieces of high quality were produced here including the work of renowned watchmakers such as the great Jean-Antoine Lépine.

EDOX – Geoscope Limited Edition

EDOX –  Geoscope Limited Edition 2013

21st Century facelift for Edox Geoscope classic

In 1971, leading Swiss watchmaker Edox introduced the Geoscope, the world’s first genuine WorldTimer wristwatch. It was a big (42mm), bold and beautiful creation and immediately became a collectors’ favourite. Now, to mark the 130th anniversary of Edox, the Geoscope returns to enthral a whole new generation of watch lovers.

The original Geoscope’s unique colourful planisphere dial showed the globe as viewed from the South Pole. An inner bezel, displaying 24 divisions, made one complete revolution every 24 hours and the watch also showed GMT time, plus the sun’s position.

The new Geoscope Limited Edition (just 300 available worldwide, individually numbered 001 to 300) is an updated version of the original classic, which is still a highly sought-after collector’s piece. The Geoscope Limited Edition retains the inner rotating bezel with its incredible “earth map”, this time as viewed from the North Pole, plus a date display on a sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Powered by an automatic movement with a module for the GMT functions, the Geoscope Limited Edition is water- resistant to 20 ATM (200m).

Produced in steel with a stunning matching steel-link bracelet, this beautiful wristwatch is presented in a special collector’s box.
The Geoscope Limited Edition is a thoroughly modern re-imagining of a timeless classic, with its orange hour markers and distinctive main hands paying homage to those on the original.

Family-owned independent boutique watchmaker Edox, based in Les Genevez, makes a range of rugged, technically advanced, superbly engineered precision watches that complement everything from the world’s most difficult motorsport event, the Dakar Rally, to the Extreme Sailing Series and the more sedate, but no less intense, sport of curling.

To celebrate its 130th anniversary, Edox is releasing new editions of several of its most influential timepieces; the Geoscope, the amazing 500m water-resistant Hydro Sub andan elegant timepiece for its classic, ultra-slim Les Bémonts range, the Les Bémonts Open Vision Automatic.
