Throughout its long history, Longines has created pieces that have stood the test of time. A re-issue of a chronograph with a 1930s’ design, The Longines Avigation BigEye is now available in titanium with a petrol blue dial.

This timepiece – characterised by the visibility of its dial and its oversized 30-minute counter – joins the great tradition of pilot watches. Driven by an exclusive chronograph movement fitted with a silicon balance-spring, this new model also comes with a 5-year warranty.

Since the early 20th century, Longines has been associated with conquering the skies. Today, the winged-hourglass brand presents a new interpretation of The Longines Avigation BigEye in titanium with a petrol blue dial, in homage to the greatest aviation moments and its pioneers. This pilot’s chronograph with an emblematic 1930s’ design is characterised by the striking size of its 30-minute counter: a unique look that inspired the model’s name (BigEye).

The Longines Avigation BigEye has a 41-mm titanium case which encloses a column-wheel chronograph movement (L688) with a silicon balance-spring for accuracy and enhanced resistance to magnetic fields. To prove its reliability, this new version comes with a 5-year warranty.

 In keeping with the spirit of pilots’ watches, The Longines Avigation BigEye is also characterised by its ease of reading. Adorned with sand-blasted black hands and Arabic numerals coated with SuperLuminova®, its grained and shaded petrol blue dial features a seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and an oversized 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock.

A box-shaped sapphire glass with multi-layered anti-reflective finish above and below, and a screw-down and engraved case back also attest to the advanced technology of this piece.  

This new version comes with a natural brown leather strap with a vintage finish. It joins a version of The Longines Avigation BigEye in steel with black dial, launched in ▶️ 2017.

Its shaded green lacquered dial is covered with a sapphire crystal box and sports luminous hands, hour markers with squares coated with Super-LumiNova® and Arabic numerals enhanced with luminescent rectangles for optimal legibility, a reminder of the codes of the sport for which this watch was originally intended.

a glimpse into the wild parties of the later 1940s

Longines celebrates the carefree spirit of the late 1940s. After the harsh war came a time of prosperity and celebration. Elegance was back in fashion; men wore suits and women wore recently-introduced nylon stockings.

People got dressed up to go out and dance to the rhythm of jazz bands. The new Longines Heritage Classic - Tuxedo creations - one with 3 hands and the other featuring a chronograph - are inspired by two historic pieces designed in the spirit of their time, modernised.

Longines offers two new models inspired by historical pieces with the typical aesthetics of the regained freedom of the late 1940s. You can easily imagine it on the wrist of partygoers at jazz clubs. They have been nicknamed "Tuxedo" by collectors, the contrast of black and white on their dial reminds us of the suits worn during the elegant and festive evenings of the time.

To respect the spirit of the original models, Longines has chosen here not to add the word "Automatic" on the dials. In keeping with the aim to create timepieces that are as faithful as possible to historical timepieces, there is also no date window on contemporary models, which are presented on semi-matt black leather straps, perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the era.

The former stands out for the aesthetics of its dial, a typical and very popular design from the 1940s. An opaline silver disc surrounded by a sublime matt black circle of thin baton hands covered with Super-LumiNova®.

The small seconds counter, located at 6 o'clock, is off-centre: this detail contributes to the charm of this 38.50 mm-diameter timepiece housing the exclusive L893.5 movement with its silicon balance spring, a guarantee of quality and precision.

The chronograph version displays matt black, opaline and midnight blue, colours as elegant as they are refined. Several zones feature on its dial, and a tachymetric scale - quite rare for a Longines watch - also enriches its circumference, just like on the original model.

Testimony to the brand's historic ties with the world of aviation, this chronograph is a reinterpretation of the Type A-7 model ordered by the us. Air Force in 1935. This new variation with a black shifted dial enhances the Longines Heritage line.

The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 pays homage to aviation's finest hours. Longines has been associated with the aeronautical universe and its pioneers since the beginning of the 20" century. For this new timepiece, the brand takes inspiration from a model ordered by the U.S.

Air Force in 1935. In order to be designated "Type A- 7" by the US Army so that it could be worn by its pilots, the watch had to meet extremely rigorous specifications in terms of aesthetics, durability and precision.

Faithfulto the original model, the new variation of The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 sets itself apart with its black dial shifted 40° to the right. The particular orientation of the dialallowed pilots to read the indices without having to release the plane's controlyoke.

To facilitate the handling of the watch in the air - even when wearing gloves - the fluted crown located at 12 o'clock enabled control of the different chronograph functions: power, stop, and reset, by simply pressing the single push- piece. Today, The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935 adopts this unique design.

Its stainless steel case with a diameter of 41.00 mm houses a column-wheel chronograph movement (L788.2) exclusively developed for Longines.

Adopting the specifications of the historic model, the matt black dial adorned with large Arabic numerals and a "train track" chapter ring, ensu res optimal readability. This u nderstated composition is decorated with elegant "cathedral"-type hands covered with Super- Lu miNova®.

Mounted on a brown leather strap, this new model of The Longines Avigation Watch Type A- 7 1935 complements a white lacquered dial version launched in 2016.

Launched in 1957, the Flagship collection was one of the first lines to be named by Longines. The flagship flies the flag of the commander-in-chief of the fleet. With this resolutely conquering name, the collection would go on to become a crown jewel for the winged hourglass brand from the 1950s onwards. Initially intended for men, these watches also enjoyed great success with female customers.

Today, Longines revisits this timeless, unisex design by drawing inspiration from a rare model with a black dial from 1957, which is particularly prized by collectors. Combining technical expertise and elegance, the new all-black Flagship Heritage will appeal to all vintage watch enthusiasts.

This timepiece is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement (L615) and includes a stainless steel case with a diameter of 38.50 mm. A characteristic feature of the collection, the case also features bevelled, inward-pointing horns, which gives the piece a refined and stylish silhouette.

Faithful to the design of the original watch, this model unveils a black lacquered domed dial with a polished finish, accentuated by applied indexes in the shape of faceted trapezoids.

Located at 6 o’clock, the date is indicated by an off-centre small seconds counter and the  “Flagship” inscription, both  emblematic of the watchmaking aesthetics of the 1950s. The dolphin-shaped hands enhance this understated composition, encased in an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

An emblem of the collection, a golden caravel decorated with blue enamel is engraved on the screw-down case back. The model is presented on a black leather strap decorated with fine beige stitching and equipped with a pin buckle.
