NYON, 1 February 2022 – Today is the first day of the new lunar calendar and the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. Hublot marks the date with the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Gold Tiger, a special watch that will be remembered for its technical and aesthetic originality long after the Year of the Tiger draws to a close.

The watch, which is based on the barrel-shaped 42mm Spirit of Big Bang, is a striking execution of Hublot’s famous fusion principles. This is the first Spirit of Big Bang with a case made of Frosted Carbon and 18-carat yellow-gold, a black and gold fusion of materials Hublot has used in its collection only once before.

This unique, complex, beautiful material, developed by Hublot, fuses carbon fibre with gold to create a unique finish defined by its glimmering gold inclusions. The watch is limited to 200 pieces and no two will be exactly the same. The patterns created by the process are random, just like a tiger’s majestic stripes.

The watch is powered by the Hublot self-winding skeleton chronograph, reference HUB4700, a descendant of the historic high-frequency Swiss Made El Primero calibre, introduced in 1969. This contemporary, highly precise automatic movement features a number of technical innovations, including a low-friction silicon regulating organ. The watch has a 50-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 10 ATM (100 metres).

The Year of the Tiger story continues into the watch’s straps. It comes on a black rubber strap, elegantly shaped to mimic a tiger’s stripes. It’s fastened by a black ceramic and black-plated titanium deployant buckle clasp. Thanks to Hublot’s patented One-Click System, this can be changed to the supplied yellow-gold-coloured, velcro-fastened fabric strap quickly and easily by its owner.

Available exclusively in Hublot’s Dallas and Houston boutiques, the Big Bang Camo Texas features a palette inspired by the state’s colors, from the varied and rugged landscape to the iconic flag. The blue hues capture both the vivid indigo of the Bluebonnet wildflower, and the texture of camouflage, a nod to the adventurous and outdoor spirit the vast state is renowned for. A red second hand cuts through the blue palette to make sure every moment is maximized in the state known for living large, and naturally, the piece is finished with a rhodium-plated Lone Star at 12-o’clock.

The Big Bang Camo Texas is released as a limited edition of 25 pieces. Its 44mm case is cut from matte blue ceramic and its sapphire dial features superimposed outlines which form a camouflage motif, with the Lone Star symbol at 12 o’clock. The camouflage continues through the strap where each of the constituent shapes of the outline is cut out individually, assembled, and then fused together using the vulcanization process.

Powered by HUB4100, a Manufacture self-winding Chronograph movement, the watch has a 42-hour power reserve and date window at 4 1/2 o’clock. The caseback marks each unique piece with its special edition number out of 25 alongside the Hublot logo.

Hublot and DJ Snake have been partners since January 1st 2018, when he presided over the decks at Hublot's closing evening during the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Three years later, the first watch of this partnership is being unveiled:  The Big Bang DJ Snake.

The instantly recognizable and iconic design of the Big Bang now has an iridescent shine, with countless blue and purple hues. The bezel and the six titanium components of the 45-mm case are treated with a special and technical manufacturing process, similar to a black PVD treatment.

During the process, the different components of the watch must each be placed in specific positions when they are coated with different colors. The result is an optical effect in which the colors of the watch change depending on the light and when viewed from different angles.

Not only that, but the surface of the parts was hardened before the iridescent treatment in order to improve its adherence. This operation is a complex one as it is difficult to obtain the same gradation of colour on each of the 100 watches being produced. The cut-outs on the outer edge of the bezel were designed by DJ Snake himself. These notches make the Big Bang DJ Snake immediately recognisable, distinguishing it from other collections. An illustration of the "Art of Fusion" philosophy so dear to Hublot!

On the upper face of the sapphire dial in the same colours as the case, a globe is featured, the signature of the electronic music star. A nod both to his travels across the planet for his concerts and to the fact that his hits have made the world his home. The lower section is skeletonised and treated to create sections with a black fumé finish.

 This semi-transparent finish allows a glimpse of the famous calibre HUB1242 UNICO movement, a flyback chronograph with a power reserve of 72 hours.

Limited to 100 pieces, the Big Bang DJ Snake will be supplied with two straps which are easily interchangeable thanks to Hublot’s patented One Click system.

The first is made from rubber, with a grey, black and purple camouflage pattern echoing the myriad colours reflected by the watch case. The second, also rubber, has a black ribbed structure. The clasp on these straps also features the same "Newton's Rings" effect as the case and bezel.

For the eighth year, Hublot confirms its appointment as official timekeepeer of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud and announces a new “Friend of the Brand” – It’s all go in Geneva this summer” Summer is a time for renewal and new horizons; Hublot is confirming its close ties with the Bol d’Or Mirabaud as official timekeeper for the eighth consecutive season, and will take the opportunity to present its new collaboration with Chef Jean-Edern Hurstel.

The Bol d'Or Mirabaud allows Hublot to proudly demonstrate its attachment to its roots in Geneva and its love of sailing. What could be more natural than for Hublot to associate itself with this essential event for the region: it is the world’s biggest inland lake regatta, running between the two ends of Lake Geneva, from Geneva to Le Bouveret. Around 500 boats will be on the start line for the 123 kilometre route with its changing winds and sometimes troubled waters. The gleaming hulls of the yachts cutting through the blue water of Lake Geneva have inspired the new Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud. A tricolour watch that is made exquisite by the combination of gloss grey steel, matt black and deep navy blue.

Hublot is continuing its summer renewal by celebrating the reopening of Le Floris, a restaurant that has been an institution in Geneva for more than 50 years. The new Le Floris by Jean-Edern Hurstel sets out to be a place that adapts to different times of the day, offering gastronomic-fusion food, a lounge bar and an elegant bistro area called “La Pinte” serving local delicacies.

After working at four Michelin-starred restaurants under great chefs of French gastronomy such as Alain Ducasse and Alain Passard, he decided to broaden his horizons to Dubai, where he worked in several five-star hotels. Hurstel then returned to Paris, where he managed the opening of The Peninsula and become the youngest Executive Chef of a luxury hotel in France.
