PIAGET – POLO Flying Tourbillon Moonphase Titanium Edition

PIAGET POLO Flying Tourbillon Moonphase Titanium 44 mm Edition 2025

Appearing in titanium, in shades of blue and grey, the Piaget Polo watch continues to explore contemporary complications. Its language never deviates from the signature codes of Piaget’s style: the most graceful thinness, the most daring materials, the most innate elegance.

A true icon of the watchmaking world since its launch in 1979, the Piaget Polo embraced the ‘sport chic’ trend in its own unique way by unveiling a bracelet watch carved from pure gold. Today, it is venturing even further. Having proudly displayed the colours of a masterful skeleton movement since 2021, elevated by an ultra-thin perpetual calendar in 2023, the Piaget Polo watch is yet again taking up position on the complications podium in 2025 by combining a flying tourbillon with an astronomical moonphase display.

After its majestic reign on the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon watch, the flying tourbillon will now exhibit its beating heart on another of Maison Piaget’s star watch cases, following on from this exploit of ultra-thin elegance.

To celebrate the debut of a complication as poetic as it is emblematic, the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase is stepping into the spotlight wearing Piaget’s most iconic colour: blue, the Maison’s long-standing visual signature.

Refined

This Piaget style signature, which defines the piece’s aesthetics, is paired with another, deeply rooted in technique. Asserting the Maison’s inherent mastery in ultra-thin watchmaking, the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase boasts an overall thickness of 9.8 mm.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This stems from the calibre that drives it, the 642P, which itself is just 4 mm thick. Extravagantly defying expectations, the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase displays a 44 mm-diameter titanium case alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces.

Light, yet extremely strong, this material has earned its place among the noblest of alloys, not for its rarity but for its exceptional performance. This includes its ability to retain all its properties when it is coloured using the PVD technique. This latest creation presents blue case flanks and a blue crown insert, matching the dial with their shade and their gadroons, a visual signature that has set the tempo for the Piaget Polo collection since its inception in 1979.

Calibrated

Beneath the aesthetic qualities of the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase, the Maison fully expresses its mastery of horological savoir-faire. The creator of dozens of calibres, and master of all complications from the simplest to the rarest, the Piaget Manufacture in La Côte-aux-Fées is home to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

With its exceptional tools, it has poured its soul into the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase

Piaget has drawn on its history as a designer, developer and maker of mechanical movements with complications to deliver a new version of its calibre 600P, once hailed as the thinnest shaped tourbillon ever imagined.

The hand-wound Calibre 642P also possesses this attribute. With an overall thickness of 4 mm, it mirrors the 600P’s ultra-thin architecture, its flying tourbillon, and its finely worked tourbillon cage in the shape of a stylised P. It also encases the components required to display the moonphase, with an imperceptible increase in thickness of just 0.5 mm.

With the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase standing for both discretion and performance, this celestial complication was duty-bound to harmonise with the piece as a whole. That is why the moonphase is shown with a precision described as ‘astronomical’.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The relative speeds of the Earth and its satellite means that their cycles are slightly out of sync. Moonphase mechanisms vary in their ability to reflect this mismatch.

Thanks to Piaget’s horological expertise and uncompromising technical precision, it would take 122 years to build up a single day’s difference between Calibre 642Ps display and the reality of the night sky.  This misalignment can be rectified by adjusting the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase’s moon display using the corrector at 9 o’clock.

Exuding allure

Watchmaking is a meritocracy, where titles are earned through a consistent approach. Piaget never deviates from this guiding principle.

By creating model after model, spanning collections and decades, the Maison strives to offer a vision of the watch centred on discreet pleasure, unconventional elegance, and a vision of quality rooted in the wearing experience. Here, a cushion-shaped dial is paired with a circular case, creating contrast in the piece’s form and highlighting the dial.

On one side, the wearer can admire the motion work and the moonphase display at 6 o’clock, while on the other, a clear sapphire crystal shows off the movement...

Only when the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase is slipped onto the wrist does it fully reveal its true nature: fine, streamlined, light and comfortable, with unfailing sophistication.

PIAGET – POLO Chronograph Talisman Green Panda Dial

PIAGET POLO Chronograph Talisman Green Panda Dial 42 mm Automatic 2024

Following on from the success of the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, the Maison’s iconic Piaget Polo watch is striking a chord with another complication – the chronograph – in a vibrant shade of emerald green.

With the simple but effective statement “Jewellers and Watchmakers since 1874”, stamped on watch certificates of years gone by, Maison Piaget summed up everything that makes it unique. The Maison was founded 150 years ago in La Côte-aux-Fées, in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking valley, by a family whose daring became both an aesthetic signature and the cornerstone of their reputation.

Driven by its talent for the ultra-thin, with watches first crafted from sleek components before incorporating legendary movements, the Maison is also fascinated by the bright colours of ornamental stones and the gold work that they have elevated to an art form.

Maison Piaget has always refused to compromise on either technique or aesthetics, elegance or extravagance, firmly establishing itself as the Maison of Extraleganza. This subtle twist is at play in its High Watchmaking and Jewellery creations, as well as its everyday jewellery and watches.

Redesigned in 2016 to take on a more contemporary edge, the Piaget Polo Chronograph still encapsulates the essence of stylish sport-chic first embodied by the 1979 Piaget Polo. It also bears witness to the Maison’s long-standing love of complications, harking back to the chronograph movements used in the Gouverneur watches of the 1980s and in the Protocole XL and Upstream in the 2000s.

Presented here in a 42 mm case size, layering different shapes within the rounded curves of a cushion-shaped case, the complication, driven by a 1160P movement, creates a playful contrast that echoes the two-toned dials of so-called Panda chronographs.

Most often combining stark white and matte black, or vice versa, the distinctive Panda look takes on the warm colours and the hint of daring that have always defined the Maison’s creations. This unexpected blend of styles creates a new visual effect.

Vibrant and surprising, this dial echoes the horizontal lines of the 1979 Piaget Polo’s legendary gadroons. These are highlighted by a dense and luminous emerald-green hue that draws the eye, stands out and sets the tone.

PIAGET – Polo 79 Yellow Gold 38mm 150th anniversary

PIAGET POLO 79 Yellow Gold 38mm 150th Anniversary

 PIAGET POLO
HIGH GOAL, HIGH LIFE

In 1979, Piaget revealed a watch that would come to define the spirit of the 1980s, which is coming back to life today for the 150th anniversary of the Maison.

Piaget already had a long-established reputation for elegant watches, but at the dawn of the 1980s the lifestyle of his clients was changing.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

We really had to answer to this particular demand of our customers who are used to getting just dress watches.’ explained Yves Piaget at the time. ‘But now our customers like to do more and more sports. That’s part of the evolution of our lives today. They want to be exquisite, even in sport. They want to wear a better watch, even in their sports. So we created this sport line which is waterproof, shockproof.”

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The answer to that ‘demand’ was a watch known simply as ‘Piaget Polo’. The evocation of the elite sport was entirely in keeping with the elite status enjoyed by Piaget in their Piaget Society

Now, 45 years after its first appearance, this historically significant timepiece is reborn as Piaget Polo’79 and still in keeping with today’s Zeitgeist and Piaget Society.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The 1970s had witnessed the arrival of a number of elegant sports watches, mostly in steel, launched by some of the grandest names of Swiss watchmaking. But there had been nothing like Piaget’s Polo: a masterpiece of modern design that conceived timekeeper and bracelet as one aesthetic whole. And in full gold.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

A noted equestrian, Yves Piaget crystallised his love of horses and the highlife in a single timepiece that became emblematic of the glamour of the 1980s. Piaget’s Polo was equally at home in the nightclubs of New York (Regine’s, Studio 54 to name just a few) as the Polo Clubs of Palm Beach.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The motif imparted by a construction of alternating polished gadroon and brushed block links continued seamlessly from bracelet, to case, and even to the dial.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Embracing the wrist like a second skin the bracelet was so skilfully wrought in Piaget’s workshops that it appeared to have been sculpted from a single piece of gold : ‘Piaget Polo’ may have been shock resistant and waterproof, but it refused to compromise on luxury and exclusivity at a time when Piaget only worked with precious metals.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Advertised as ‘the world’s ultimate sportswatch’, the Piaget Polo was as revolutionary as it was chic.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Its profile on the wrist was guaranteed by Piaget’s mastery of ultra-thin movements both mechanical and quartz. In 1976 Piaget had launched the famous 7P, at the time the thinnest quartz movement in the world, which equipped early examples of Piaget Polo. By the beginning of the 1980s it was superseded by the even thinner 1.95mm 8P

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

But the celebrated mechanical calibre 9P was also used to make certain models of Piaget Polo. Such was the model’s popularity that it soon appeared in an array of variations : round, square, gem set, bi-colour gold, time-only, perpetual calendar… it even appeared on a leather strap.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Piaget Polo 79 returns to the purest expression of the original design, albeit with a few subtle updates. In line with current tastes the quartz calibre has been eschewed in favour of the ultra-thin 1200P1 in-house self-winding calibre that can be admired through the crystal back of a case that has been slightly enlarged to 38mm.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Otherwise, it is the same masterpiece executed entirely in 18 carat gold that dazzled the jet set 45 years ago and is already beloved by the people in the know.

There are many elegant sports watches, but only Piaget’s Polo 79 is a sports elegant watch.

ABOUT PIAGET

Piaget epitomizes daring creativity – a quality that has continued to permeate through the Maison since its beginnings in 1874. From his first workshop in La Côte-aux-Fées, Georges-Edouard Piaget devoted himself to crafting high-precision movements in a feat that formed the very foundations of our pioneering name. In the late 1950s, Piaget unveiled the ultra-thin movements that would later become the Maison’s trademark and the cornerstone of the Alti-plano collection. As a true innovator of the watch and jewellery world, Piaget strongly believed in creativity and artistic values. It is within the walls of our “Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire” where master artisans continue to harness rare skills that have been preserved and perfected from generation to generation, transforming gold, stones and precious gems into dazzling works of art. Through its pursuit of masterful craftsmanship, the Maison has created emblems of daring excellence channeled into its collections including Piaget Altiplano, Piaget Polo, Limelight Gala, Possession, Sunlight, Piaget Rose and Extremely Piaget.

PIAGET – ALTIPLANO Ultimate Concept Edition La Cote-Aux-Fees

PIAGET ALTIPLANO Ultimate CONCEPT Edition “La Côte-aux-Fées” Cobalt 41mm 2023

 A ONE-OF-A-KIND TRIBUTE TO
THE
ALTIPLANO ULTIMATE CONCEPT
La Cote-Aux-Fees

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Not fully green, not blue…. This new expression of the now iconic Altiplano Ultimate Concept is one-of-a-kind. Playing on subtle cobalt-alloy variations on the mainplate and dial, Piaget brings a new unexpected texture and depth to this innovative design.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Still ultra-thin and a landmark in its category without ever making compromises on the comfort and the watchmaking standards like the water resistance in an open-work watch. And just like the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar in steel or pink gold, green is this season Piaget’s new shade of bold.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The lineage of the Altiplano Ultimate Concept is being celebrated in a special version dedicated to the Swiss Jura village of La Côte-aux-Fées. The Altiplano Ultimate Concept Watch has a bridge, screws, hands and a dial in a deep, forest green and complemented by a matching strap in alligator leather.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The highly polished, cobalt alloy case contrasts beautifully with the richness of the green detailing, evoking the feeling of a typical spring or summer's day in the hills and fields around the village that has been Piaget's home for almost 150 years. As a reminder of that, the main plate is subtly engraved with the year of the company's founding, 1874

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Altiplano Ultimate Concept watch houses our 900P-UC movement, one of the world thinnest mechanical watch that we have produced entirely in-house. This re-energized version of our iconic 9P movement, is based on our concept of fusing the case and the movement.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Altiplano Ultimate Concept mechanical watch has won the prestigious "Aiguille d'Or" at the 2020 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). This prize, awarded to the best overall watch in terms of creativity and quest for excellence, comes as a celebration of our maison's savoir-faire and expertize.

The latest Altiplano Ultimate Concept is embellished with tones of forest green applied to the hour and minutes dial and hands, as well as the bridge and screws on the dial. The green areas are satin-brushed and coated with an atomic layer deposition (ALD) for additional protection.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The 41mm case is a cobalt alloy and beautifully polished throughout to contrast with the rich green details and the bright pink colour of the rubies. The grainy white mainplate framing the movement is engraved with Piaget and 1874 in reference to the year Piaget was founded. Echoing the green details on the dial, the alligator leather strap is also forest green.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The movement connected to the Altiplano Ultimate Concept watch is the Piaget caliber 900P-UC. It operates at 4Hz (28,800 bph) with a power reserve of about 42 hours. The mainspring barrel is carefully mounted on one single ceramic ball bearing.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Time is indicated off-center via its own dial at the 12 o’clock position. The entire movement is meant to minimize the thinness of parts and maximize space. Assembling these watches requires incredible skill because of how unforgiving the tolerances are.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The challenge at this thin size is structural integrity. Too thin and brittle, and the watch case parts will snap or bend. The sapphire crystal, for example, is just 0.2mm-thick. There really isn’t a separation of case and movement, as the case is the mainplate for the movement, a design detail that allows for the watch to be considerably thinner than most other wristwatches.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The case back, bezel and lugs have all been satin brushed making a nice contrast to the case band that is polished. The timepiece is paired with an extremely thin green alligator strap that does not exceed 1.5mm, in keeping with the watch’s ultra-thin design.
