BA111ODChapter 4 INFINITY Flying Tourbillon Moon Phase Steel 41mm - 2025

Neuchâtel, April 2025 – BA111OD is about to take another step toward haute horlogerie. True to its daring spirit, the Neuchâtel-based Maison continues to push boundaries, venturing into territories where no one expects it. On the occasion of the Spring watch fairs, BA111OD is preparing to unveil its latest masterpiece: the Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon.

A true symbol of an ongoing quest for perfection, this timepiece — designed for aesthetes and collectors — goes far beyond simply measuring time, elevating itself to a true expression of mechanical poetry.

"When we envisioned the Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon, chronometer-certified by the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève and equipped with complications, we wanted to break the mould. Very few watch brands dare to offer a flying tourbillon with such scientific rigor — especially at such a fair price. That is our strength: defying expectations, delivering unmatched quality while making exclusivity more accessible," explains Thomas Baillod, founder of BA111OD.

Excellence, Shaped in the Neuchâtel Arc

A true masterpiece of ingenuity, the flying tourbillon embodies the very essence of Swiss haute horlogerie. Freed from its upper bridge, it appears to float in weightlessness, each oscillation embodying the pursuit of excellence. With its continuously rotating cage, it compensates for the effects of gravity, ensuring optimal movement stability.

Developed and crafted by the talented watch designer Olivier Mory, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds — already behind the Chapter Delta and Chapter 4 Tourbillon — the Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon by BA111OD stands as a symbol of horological excellence. It reflects the perfection of a singular craftsmanship, where the human hand breathes soul into the mechanics.

Housed in a subtly concave 41mm case of polished 904L steel with welded lugs, this timepiece combines elegance with timeless brilliance. Its subtly off-centered sunray-finished cosmic blue dial captivates with its play of light and harmoniously arranged complications: a hammered and polished moon phase at 1 o’clock, the flying tourbillon at 7 o’clock, and a small seconds at 10 o’clock.

The polished dome and box sapphire crystal unveil the inner beauty of the mechanism, offering a stunning view of the hand-wound mechanical movement and its finely finished flanks.

Excellence, Certified by the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève

This exceptional timepiece stands out through its chronometer certification awarded by Timelab – the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève – a guarantee of unmatched precision, particularly in the complex execution of the flying tourbillon, where technical excellence reaches its peak. Boasting an impressive 120-hour (5 day) power reserve, it perfectly unites aesthetics with performance.

Thomas Baillod, founder of BA111OD, explains: "A true feat of engineering, the Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon, chronometer-certified, transcends the mere function of timekeeping to embody the perfect harmony between precision and mechanical poetry. Driven by this pursuit of the absolute, BA111OD continues to push the limits of what’s possible — an ambition fueled by the excellence and priceless expertise of our watchmakers and local partners, the true protagonists of this adventure."

Excellence, Inherited

In the spirit of a centuries-old legacy, BA111OD carries forward a savoir-faire deeply rooted in the history of Swiss watchmaking. Research has revealed that the first Baillods were already active in horology within the canton of Neuchâtel as early as the 18th century. Today, Thomas Baillod continues to breathe new life into this tradition, exploring uncharted territory while remaining faithful to the values of fine Swiss watchmaking.

«Pour aimer du temps, celui quine compte pas» / « To love time, the one that doesn't count »

This enigmatic sentence, engraved on the barrel, is a tribute to Gil Baillod, the father of
Thomas Baillod, a leading figure in journalism in French-speaking Switzerland. He had written
it on the title page of the book he had written on the measurement of time, which he had
given to Thomas' best friend on the day of his death.

Frederique Constant – MANUFACTURE Classic Perpetual Calendar

Frederique ConstantMANUFACTURE Classic Perpetual Calendar Steel 40mm Salmon Dial 2025

The Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture is back
: WITH A NEW DESIGN AND A NEW MOVEMENT

When it first came out in 2016, the Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture was the most affordable perpetual calendar watch on the market. Today, the timepiece is pushing the envelope still further in quality, component finishes and technical features.

Here, the dial sports one of collectors’ favourite colours – salmon – in a steel case that now comes in a 40-millimetre diameter. The new Classic case houses the new Manufacture FC-776 calibre, the 34th developed in-house by the Geneva-based watchmaker and now boasting a three-day power reserve.

Ever since it was founded in 1988, family-owned independent Geneva brand Frederique Constant has always excelled in its desire to put Swiss Made fine watchmaking within the reach of the general public, continually offering more to collectors without ever losing sight of its core values and history.

Now an international group with its own in-house manufacture, the brand has nevertheless remained faithful to its original calling, even when taking on that most coveted of complications, the perpetual calendar. Popular wisdom held that a feature displaying the day, month and date whilst taking leap years into account could never be anything other than an unaffordable luxury, but Frederique Constant has proved the contrary – twice over. The first time was when it released its first perpetual calendar in 2016. Today, the brand has done it again, improving both form and function without making the complication any less affordable.

The timepiece now comes in Frederique Constant’s new Classic case with gentler lines, slimmer lugs and a more compact diameter of 40 millimetres – a reflection of the tenets of vintage fine watchmaking, according to which harmony and elegance should be expressed with discretion and restraint.

The new salmon shade on the dial is a natural extension of this radiant, subtle harmony, as are the two hand-assembled and hand-polished Dauphine hands; the hour markers are now more slender, too, and are arrayed around a ‘sector dial’ minute track – a style typical of vintage timepieces from last century.

Pared of hours and minutes numerals, the watch face is straightforward and minimalist, leaving ample room for the three perpetual calendar displays on its expansive sunburst backdrop: months and leap years at 12 o’clock, days at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock. Each counter is very slightly stepped, adding a subtle degree of texture to the composition. The finishing touch is provided by the Moon Phase, with its own dedicated window at 6 o’clock.

The sophisticated perpetual calendar is powered by the new Manufacture FC-776 calibre – the 34th calibre to be developed in-house by the brand, now with a three-day power reserve following a 2024 development of the 706-716 calibres. Visible through a sapphire caseback, the high-precision movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz. Each watch is adjusted and tested in six positions, ensuring they remain extremely accurate when worn in any everyday situation.

The Manufacture FC-776 calibre shares the vast majority of components with a technical base already in the Manufacture collection, the FC-775, making it an especially well-tried and tested and highly reliable movement.
