Frozen Carbon makes its début at Maurice Lacroix on six Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon models. Its aesthetic signature features random patterns, resulting in entirely unique dials made from carbon mixed with metal powders or pigments. Produced locally, it brings Innovative Craftsmanship to life.

Launched in 2016, the Aikon is Maurice Lacroix’s most contemporary collection, combining Swiss craftsmanship with excellent value for money. In 2025, Maurice Lacroix introduced the Aikon-IC – standing for Innovative Craftsmanship – featuring its first Carbon UD (unidirectional) dial.

In 2026, Frozen Carbon introduces new effects of texture, depth and colour. This material, developed by a specialist in the region, combines bronze or titanium powders or coloured pigments with carbon fibres.

Six new references, including three limited editions, are available in matching cases made of bronze, Damascus steel, titanium or carbon. The use of materials is also evident in the ceramic bezel and textile-effect rubber straps.

These watches are powered by the calibre ML1000, specially developed for the AIKON-IC. Innovative materials, a high-precision calibre, local expertise: Maurice Lacroix explores Innovative Craftsmanship.
Calibre ML1000: Jura-based Mechanics
The ML1000 brings together local expertise: It was created by Maurice Lacroix in collaboration with movement manufacturer Soprod, located less than ten kilometres from Saignelégier. It achieves an average accuracy of -4/+4 seconds per day and provides a power reserve of more than 60 hours.

The sapphire case back of the Aikon-IC reveals the movement and its decorations. This performance reflects Maurice Lacroix’s approach: to offer high-end mechanics at an accessible price.
Frozen Carbon: A Crystallised Material
With Frozen Carbon, Maurice Lacroix explores the aesthetic potential of carbon composites developed for the brand by a specialist in the region. The structure of the material itself becomes the decoration, characterised by the deliberately random arrangement of carbon fibres, pigments and metal powders.

On the Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon, fine particles of bronze or titanium run through the carbon. The trails of metal form an organic pattern reminiscent of marble veining. The carbon fibres and randomly distributed particles make each pattern unique.

In the coloured versions (Deep Forest, red, turquoise and purple), the carbon fibres are shorter, embedded in a greater quantity of resin mixed with pigment. The shades, intensity and depth effects vary depending on the concentration of pigments, the orientation of the fibres and their proximity to the surface of the dial.

This creates the crystallised, almost mineral-like effect that gives Frozen Carbon its name.

Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Bronze limited edition: a living metal
The contrasts between bronze and the black materials – the ceramic bezel and carbon dial – are strongest in the Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Bronze. The Frozen Carbon dial is paired with a bronze case. Each watch is unique: the bronze powder creates random veining across the dial, while the case develops a patina over time.

Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Damas limited edition: Damascus steel and high-tech composite
The Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Damas combines an ancient metallurgical technique with composite technology. Its case is forged from genuine Damascus steel, supplied by a Swedish blacksmith. The case reveals the steel’s different layers, with a pattern unique to each of the 500 pieces produced. The Frozen Carbon dial, veined with titanium powder, also varies from one watch to another, making each model unique.
Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Deep Forest limited edition
The Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon Deep Forest presents Frozen Carbon in deep green tones reminiscent of a forest. Carbon structures and green pigments are suspended in an epoxy resin composite, with a different distribution each time. Different shades and depth effects make each piece unique.
Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon: frosted colours
Three non-limited-edition models in red, turquoise and purple complete the collection. Pigments are mixed with carbon fibres. Each dial features different depth effects, creating a frosted, mineral-like appearance. The rubber strap features stitching matching the colour of the dial.
