For Piaget, gold is and has always been a source of creativity. In 1969, the Maison unveiled the 21st Century Collection, a series of avant-garde gold jewellery watches - between cuff watches and Swinging Sautoirs - a perfect marriage of its history in watchmaking and High Jewellery.

The 1970s saw the arrival of elegant, steel sports watches, but there was nothing like the Piaget Polo — a sports elegant watch, fully casted in gold.

A passionate equestrian, Yves Piaget fused his love of polo and the high life into a watch that came to define the glamour of the 1980s, worn as naturally at Palm Beach polo clubs, as at Chez Regine in New York. “A bracelet watch and a watch bracelet” as he used to say.

A legacy reimagined

In 2024, 45 years after its debut, the original Piaget Polo was reborn as the Piaget Polo 79 for the 150th anniversary of the Maison.

Awarded “Iconic Watch” at the GPHG in 2024, the renaissance began with the icon’s return in radiant yellow gold, followed in 2025 by the refined white gold iteration that offers enhanced versatility.

Now in 2026, Piaget introduces the “Two-Tone”– a harmonious marriage of precious metals which recalls one of the Piaget Polo’s original 1979 configurations, designed for connoisseurs who demand distinction and wearability.
