This season, ochs und junior celebrates the holidays and the poetry of time with a time restricted special edition of the popular day/night watch.

The day/night indicates the length of day and nighttime for a selected location. Furthermore Ludwig Oechslin’s constructions shows the sunset, sunrise, solar noon, moon phase, sun and moon position in the sky, date, hour, and minute. All these complications are available for both the northern and southern hemispheres.

This astronomical timepiece, which appears in the Holiday Edition, is a 40mm watch with a rhodium-plated dial. It features markers, as well as hour and minute hands, coated with Superluminova for enhanced visibility. The daytime part of the dial is made of brass.

The nighttime part, which features the unique ochs und junior dark blue patina, has hand-drilled brass stars, transforming the passage of day and night into a celestial experience. The watch is powered by an Ulysse Nardin UN-320 movement.

Originally conceived in 2018 as a one-off production, Oechslin’s day/night has since become an icon of radical simplicity and innovative watchmaking, based on his deep knowledge about modern and historical astronomic watchmaking.

The Holiday Edition 2025 is hence more than a timepiece: it is a celebration of light and darkness and of passing time captured in its most poetic form.

The Holiday Special Edition 2025 is available exclusively in this design and at the holiday price until January 6, 2026. After this date, the special offer will no longer be available.

 Orders received from now until November 1, 2025, will be available for delivery until December 24, 2025. Orders placed later - up to and including Januar y 6, 2026 - will be shipped by early spring 2026.

Swiss made
The ochs und junior day/night watch is manufactured entirely in Switzerland. The gear systems, dials, hands, cases, buckles, and crowns are made by the Helfenstein Mechanik AG in Alpnach / Switzerland. The base movement Ulysse Nardin UN-320 is produced in Le Locle / Switzerland. Each watch is hand-assembled and regulated at the ochs und junior workshop in Lucerne / Switzerland.
