Frederique Constant and Time+Tide are proud to present the Highlife Moonphase Date Manufacture – Onyx Moon, a limited-edition collaboration that brings a series of firsts to the brand’s celebrated Highlife collection.

Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Onyx Moon embodies the two brands’ shared values of creativity, accessibility and entrepreneurship in the contemporary world of Swiss watchmaking.

This striking new model is the first Highlife to feature a Frederique Constant Manufacture Moonphase, the first to come with an integrated five-link bracelet, and the first Frederique Constant watch ever to have a dial without hour markers.

At the centre of the piece sits a natural onyx stone dial, polished to create a seemingly infinite surface – a deep, liquid black that absorbs light like the midnight sky. Suspended in darkness against this cosmic backdrop, the silvery disc of the moon – complete with craters – glows with hyperrealist texture and detail.

Like so many sparks across the void, subtle flashes of red mark out the 31st day of the month and the ‘GENEVE’ lettering beneath the brandmark, setting the composition aflame. The whole forms a dial that’s both poetic and precise – and a timepiece that captures the quiet theatre of the night sky.

As founder of Time+Tide Andrew McUtchen puts it: “The result is a watch that’s both minimalist and mesmerising. The onyx dial gives it a certain stillness, while the moon provides a sense of presence unlike anything else in the Highlife line. It’s a miniature piece of nighttime theatre for the wrist; a micro-drama of details – everything we all love about mechanical watchmaking in fact. What’s more, on a purely sensual level, it’s quite simply sexy. Black onyx, flashes of red, cool steel – it’s a piece that really stirs the emotions.”

Niels Eggerding, CEO of Frederique Constant, adds: “This collab reflects our shared passion for making fine watchmaking accessible without compromise. The Onyx Moon showcases the beauty of our Manufacture Moonphase calibre in its purest form. It’s been a pleasure to work with Time+Tide to create such a distinctive piece for collectors.”

Presented in a 39-millimetre stainless steel case that’s water resistant to 10ATM, the Highlife Moonphase Date Manufacture – Onyx Moon features the collection’s signature integrated design, reimagined for the first time to include a five-link bracelet that adds a refined, tactile dimension. The quick-release system enables the wearer to switch effortlessly between the bracelet, a black rubber strap and the calf leather strap with nubuck finishing (both also included), thus offering three personalities – elegant, sporty and everyday – in one watch.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

In another first, the FC-716 Manufacture automatic movement has been chosen as the beating heart of this Highlife watch. Developed and assembled entirely in-house, it boasts an improved and truly impressive 72-hour power reserve thanks to a new mainspring alloy and a redesigned barrel. The date and moonphase displays offset each other perfectly at six o’clock, while the pad-printed moon features a realistic surface. Amazingly enough, all the functions are adjusted via the crown. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Côtes de Genève and perlage finishings reveal the meticulous craftsmanship of Frederique Constant’s Geneva atelier.

Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Onyx Moon will be available from 11 December 2025, exclusively through Frederique Constant and Time+Tide Watches.

Frederique Constant – CLASSICS Perpetual Calendar Manufacture Collection

Frederique ConstantCLASSICS Perpetual Calendar Manufacture 40mm Collection 2025

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

At Geneva Watch Days 2025, Frederique Constant released three new variations of its Perpetual Calendar.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture is one of Frederique Constant’s best-known models, now in the limelight again with the release of three new watches at once: two variations with a steel case and blue or silvered dial, plus an onyx black dial with an 18k yellow gold case limited to 37 pieces only.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

All share the same 40-millimetre format and the same manufacture calibre: the renowned FC-776 that first enabled the Geneva-based brand to deliver the most affordable Perpetual Calendar on the market – a title the model still holds today.

As such the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture is the ultimate embodiment of the ‘affordable luxury’ philosophy championed by Frederique Constant for over thirty-five years.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture is an exceptional timepiece in more ways than one. For starters, there’s the complication itself. The perpetual calendar is one of the most challenging achievements in fine watchmaking and has been a source of admiration in the profession for 150 years.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The challenge resides in creating a fully mechanical memory capable of handling the irregularities of our Gregorian calendar.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The latter’s formalised structure entails the need for occasional adjustments to keep it in step with the natural passage of time, replete with subtle variations that go unnoticed on a day-to-day basis; the leap years we add every four years are just one of the many such adjustments that help compensate for such vagaries.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The perpetual calendar (also known as the QP) thus represents the height of mechanical engineering, and only a small number of watchmaking firms have mastered it. Frederique Constant has been one of the select few for nearly ten years now, with its first such piece released in 2016

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture is also exceptional in terms of its positioning, still deliberately kept below the CHF 10,000 mark; at the same time, it has undergone relentlessly thorough development, delivering significant improvements to the movement whilst leaving the pricing unchanged.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The 775 Calibre has thus been replaced by the 776, with a power reserve boosted from 38 to 72 hours. Frederique Constant is probably the only manufacture currently offering this level of movement refinement – and simultaneously absorbing the related costs to ensure the watch remains affordable.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

What is more, this Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture takes the exercise still further with a QP complication that’s remarkably easy to adjust. The moonphase, date, day, month and leap year functions are all set by means of a dedicated push button, discreetly recessed in the frame.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Provided the watch is wound up, in everyday use the wearer need do no more than adjust the hour and minutes hands as required, using the crown. The FC-776 manufacture calibre is housed in a case just 40 millimetres in diameter – a format much beloved of collectors.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

While the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture has recently featured a much-sought-after salmon dial, two other colour schemes favoured by collectors have been adopted here, with a blue or silvered dial.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Each offers maximum readability thanks to the clear, intuitive layout of the markings: separate day, date and month displays alongside a moonphase tastefully positioned at six o’clock.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Moving forward only once a year, the lesser-used leap year indicator sits at twelve o’clock with the month hand. Each dial features a graceful sunray finish to help diffuse light evenly across the applique hour markers and hand-polished hands.

Only 37 lucky collectors will be able to own the third version of the new Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture with an 18-carat yellow gold case, as used by Frederique Constant for other models in its Manufacture collections.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The watch offers a striking contrast between the warm yellow gold of its case and hand-polished hands and the absolute black of an onyx dial that embodies timeless, classic elegance.

Exuding prestige, the timepiece comes on an alligator strap with deployment clasp and features a sapphire caseback, revealing the inner workings of the FC-776 calibre in all their glory.

Frederique Constant – HIGHLIFE Chronograph Automatic Bamford Special Edition

Frederique Constant x BAMFORD HIGHLIFE Chronograph Automatic Bamford Special Сrystallized Black Titanium Exclusive Edition 2025

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Frederique Constant x Bamford Watch Department:
A Radical Take on the Highlife Chronograph

Since 2009, Bamford Watch Department has been rewriting the rules of contemporary watchmaking. The creative force behind the brand, George Bamford, has built a reputation for reinterpreting horological icons through a distinctly modern and often monochromatic lens. But until now, the British designer had never turned his attention to a Frederique Constant collection.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The result is a collaborative reinterpretation of the Highlife Chronograph Automatic that blends Bamford’s signature boldness with Frederique Constant’s Swiss precision, unveiled exclusively at Dubai Watch Week.

Featuring a crystal titanium case, in-yer-face contrast and ultimate readability, this irreverent and ambitious take on the Highlife Chronograph reveals a hidden side to the piece.

Breaking the Mould

Few doubted that a Bamford-designed Highlife would challenge convention. And indeed, that was what Frederique Constant’s CEO Niels Eggerding was looking for. “George and his team are recognised as being bold and free-spirited creatives. We wanted to get out of our comfort zone, and Bamford Watch Department have proved to be the perfect ally to shake us up, delivering a Highlife variant that will defy our customers’ expectations.”

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

That was quite a challenge when it came to this pillar of Frederique Constant collections, first released in 1999 and reissued in 2020 – but Bamford Watch Department’s work is much more than a mere exercise in style.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

For Bamford, this was never about cosmetic modification. As the UK designer puts it, “This isn’t a facelift. It’s a liberation. A Highlife that’s broken free from tradition to become darker, sharper, and completely reprogrammed.” The limited edition of 100 pieces amplifies every design element to its maximum expression. This is not a watch that whispers; it declares itself unapologetically.

A Swiss Made heart

While the exterior has been completely transformed, Frederique Constant retains custody of the movement. Boasting a 60-hour power reserve and decorated with a Côtes de Genève finish, the FC-391 calibre is and remains the soul of the piece.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

It comes from the La Joux-Perret Manufacture and is on display as ever thanks to a smoked sapphire crystal caseback. Bamford Watch Department has been given carte blanche for absolutely everything else, though – or perhaps we should say carte noire in this case.

The Power of Black

Black dominates the Bamford aesthetic, and here it defines every nuance of the design.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The watch exudes an unmistakably stealth character, where black isn’t merely a colour choice but a statement of intent.

Titanium in all its forms

The brand new 41-millimetre crystal titanium case is hard to miss. The titanium is heated to 1,200°C (2,200°F) and cooled slowly, creating a crystalline surface unique to each case. The result is a tactile, mineral-like texture that retains titanium’s strength and lightness while introducing a striking visual depth.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Paired with black DLC coating, the process elevates the Highlife Chronograph into new technical and aesthetic territory. “This treatment completely rewrites the watch’s identity, says Bamford.

Monochrome with a Pulse

The dial is a study in purity: it’s absolute matte black, with no finishings liable to spoil the effect. What’s more, the radical approach makes it even easier to read the time, with Bamford adding turquoise highlights to the counters and hands: dashes of colour mark out the progress of the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock and the chronograph readings at 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock; the tip of the chronograph’s central hand is done out in turquoise blue, too.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Some collectors will undoubtedly leave the chronograph running all the time like a seconds hand – simply to enjoy the view of its captivating shade of blue sweeping around the entire dial.

Three Straps, One Spirit

Frederique Constant has pulled all the stops out for its Highlife Chronograph Automatic Bamford Special, providing no fewer than three straps per piece. It’s a way of highlighting the very special nature of this limited edition, marking the occasion by offering even more added value for the 100 customers lucky enough to acquire one.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The straps are also a reminder of the historic continuity underpinning the Highlife collection, originally designed to be multi-purpose and multifaceted. Created in 1999, the inherently ‘millennial’ watch is aimed at collectors active in multiple environments during the course of a single day. The Highlife is designed to embrace them all, from work to leisure via sports, restaurants and concert halls, thanks to the versatility of the tool-free, one-click interchangeable strap that it pioneered.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Highlife Chronograph Automatic Bamford Special comes with three such straps in black rubber, turquoise rubber and black nubuck calfskin, supplied in an exclusive presentation box designed especially for this limited edition.

A Bold Fusion of Two Worlds

The collaboration between Bamford Watch Department and Frederique Constant demonstrates how two very different horological philosophies can converge. One represents young, fine Swiss made watchmaking; the other, British irreverence and experimentation.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Together, they have created a Highlife that doesn’t just reinterpret tradition. It redefines it.
