In 2025, the highly anticipated Vintage Rally Healey line – released only once every two years – makes its return not with one, nor two, but three distinct models. This unprecedented offering responds to a demand that has remained strong for over 20 years.

Collectors continue to appreciate the nod to Healey, a reference to one of the most iconic small racing cars – a quintessentially British exception that has delighted gentleman drivers since 1952.

Each model offers unique features: the first comes in a 40 mm steel case with a classic British racing green dial, featuring just three hands. This version is not limited.

The second edition is more compact at 36 mm, includes a date function on a Healey blue dial, inspired by the metallic blue colour of the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BM7. The third adds a chronograph housed in a 42 mm case – both of the latter models are limited to 1,888 pieces each.

Three Letters, Three Digits: NOJ393. This was the registration number of the legendary Austin-Healey 100S, purchased in 1969 by an enthusiast of the iconic car.

It was born of a collaboration between the Austin Motor Company and driver Donald Healey, who was also its designer. The result was a spirited, sleek machine – truly one of a kind. One of the few remaining original models was the famous NOJ393.

With its flawless lines – both fluid and taut – and British racing green livery, it became a classic. And since 2004, Frederique Constant has partnered with the legendary British brand to translate the car’s perfection into the world of watchmaking.

The First Unlimited Classics Vintage Rally Healey Automatic

It took no fewer than three models to fully capture the spirit and variety of this motoring legend. Though the Austin-Healey no longer competes in the world’s great rallies, it continues to inspire a true retro automotive lifestyle.

Two years ago, the Classics Vintage Rally Healey Automatic won hearts with its British racing green dial and minimalist elegance. Featuring just three hands, it encapsulated the Austin-Healey ethos. The 2025 version, powered once again by the automatic FC-301 calibre with a 38-hour power reserve, is its ultimate heir – and this time, it is not limited.

Enthusiasts will recognise the 40 mm steel case with engraved closed caseback, luminous applied indexes, hand-polished hands and, above all, the signature brown perforated calfskin strap – evoking the driving gloves of racers past.

British Minimalism

To maintain its tradition of exclusive vintages, Frederique Constant has, of course, retained limited editions.

The first of these, produced in 1,888 pieces, features a 36 mm steel case with three hands and a date window – the seconds hand is red, a hallmark of all 2025 models, highlighting their sporty character. As tradition dictates, the caseback is solid and engraved with the silhouette of the Healey.

The dial showcases one of the flagship colours of 2025: Healey blue, inspired by the metallic blue colour of the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BM7. 

Frederique Constant has chosen a sunburst finish to reflect the light towards the luminous applied indexes, complemented by a large “12” at twelve o’clock.

As with each model, the dial bears the logos of its two proud parents: “Frederique Constant Genève” and “Healey”, in navy blue to match the flange.

Racing Spirit

The second limited edition, also capped at 1,888 pieces and mounted on a navy blue calfskin strap with contrast stitching, expresses a more assertively sporty identity.

The watch is dual by nature: two colours (Healey blue dial, navy blue flange), two counters (small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock), and two pushers.

When it first came out in 2016, the Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture was the most affordable perpetual calendar watch on the market. Today, the timepiece is pushing the envelope still further in quality, component finishes and technical features.

Here, the dial sports one of collectors’ favourite colours – salmon – in a steel case that now comes in a 40-millimetre diameter. The new Classic case houses the new Manufacture FC-776 calibre, the 34th developed in-house by the Geneva-based watchmaker and now boasting a three-day power reserve.

Ever since it was founded in 1988, family-owned independent Geneva brand Frederique Constant has always excelled in its desire to put Swiss Made fine watchmaking within the reach of the general public, continually offering more to collectors without ever losing sight of its core values and history.

Now an international group with its own in-house manufacture, the brand has nevertheless remained faithful to its original calling, even when taking on that most coveted of complications, the perpetual calendar. Popular wisdom held that a feature displaying the day, month and date whilst taking leap years into account could never be anything other than an unaffordable luxury, but Frederique Constant has proved the contrary – twice over. The first time was when it released its first perpetual calendar in 2016. Today, the brand has done it again, improving both form and function without making the complication any less affordable.

The timepiece now comes in Frederique Constant’s new Classic case with gentler lines, slimmer lugs and a more compact diameter of 40 millimetres – a reflection of the tenets of vintage fine watchmaking, according to which harmony and elegance should be expressed with discretion and restraint.

The new salmon shade on the dial is a natural extension of this radiant, subtle harmony, as are the two hand-assembled and hand-polished Dauphine hands; the hour markers are now more slender, too, and are arrayed around a ‘sector dial’ minute track – a style typical of vintage timepieces from last century.

Pared of hours and minutes numerals, the watch face is straightforward and minimalist, leaving ample room for the three perpetual calendar displays on its expansive sunburst backdrop: months and leap years at 12 o’clock, days at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock. Each counter is very slightly stepped, adding a subtle degree of texture to the composition. The finishing touch is provided by the Moon Phase, with its own dedicated window at 6 o’clock.

The sophisticated perpetual calendar is powered by the new Manufacture FC-776 calibre – the 34th calibre to be developed in-house by the brand, now with a three-day power reserve following a 2024 development of the 706-716 calibres. Visible through a sapphire caseback, the high-precision movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz. Each watch is adjusted and tested in six positions, ensuring they remain extremely accurate when worn in any everyday situation.

The Manufacture FC-776 calibre shares the vast majority of components with a technical base already in the Manufacture collection, the FC-775, making it an especially well-tried and tested and highly reliable movement.

 Geneva excellence clad in green: Frederique Constant reveals its brand new tourbillon

In 2025, Frédérique Constant is unveiling a new edition of its Classic Tourbillon Manufacture, a direct descendant of its 2023 predecessors. The timepiece is being released in a limited edition of 150 featuring a 39-millimetre steel case with a green dial and matching strap.

Its beating heart is the self-winding FC-980 manufacture movement, wholly developed and assembled in-house. The new model embodies a captivating blend of traditional Fine Watchmaking and unashamed modernity, with a green sunburst dial adding a dynamic and contemporary touch.

In 2023, the Classic Tourbillon Manufacture already featured a striking new look with an innovative case and styling; the case was crafted from solid 18-carat pink gold, since adopted by Frederique Constant for all its Manufacture pieces. Originally, 150 timepieces were produced and since that edition, only a very few have been manufactured on rare occasions, including one sporting a meteorite dial in a platinum case and another with an aventurine dial and a white gold case. Precious metals are of course not the only option; limited editions featuring steel cases are highly sought-after by collectors too, as other leading Geneva watchmaking houses can also attest.

Many such steel watches seem to retail for as much as gold editions, but that can’t be said of this new release, situated in exactly the same price range as its 2023 forebears sporting a silvered blue dial. The pricing decision reflects Frederique Constant’s unwavering aim: delivering affordable Swiss Made watchmaking luxury complete with top-level finishings.

The green dial limited edition can boast all these assets – and aims higher still. The historic tourbillon often comes in highly classical garb, with a white, grey or black dial, but this piece has daringly adopted a deep palm green dial with a radiant sunburst finish. It features two hand-polished central hands gliding over faceted hour markers; seconds are marked out directly by the tourbillon, where Frederique Constant has placed a slim central hand on the upper bridge – as discreetly as possible so as not to obscure the view of the tourbillon, with a glimpse of its innermost workings.

The Classic Manufacture’s existing 39-millimetre case has been retained, combined here with a topstitched alligator deployment strap matching the dial. The understated, classic style of the case is further enhanced by the traditional onion crown harking back to the days of pocket watches, as well as a transparent caseback through which the FC-980 calibre can be admired.

As is customary in Geneva watchmaking, its finishings include bevelling, beading and circular graining, along with straight-grained flanks and mirror polishing elsewhere. These traditional features are by no means incompatible with a contemporary touch, either: the manufacture tourbillon’s anchor and escapement wheel are made from silicon, a state-of-the-art material that Frederique Constant has used since 2008. Silicon is highly resistant to everyday magnetic fields such as those generated by computers, speakers and smartphones, and can withstand temperature fluctuations too.
