The standard-bearer of the Purity manufacture collection, the Curvy Tourbillon represents the pinnacle of ArtyA’s skeletonization mastery. Engineered to integrate seamlessly into a tonneau case with a crown at 12 o’clock, this one-off creation epitomizes the creative audacity that defines the Geneva maison.

The Curvy Purity Tourbillon Caliber

This high-complication movement is the third developed by the independent brand. Designed to fit the tonneau form to perfection, it now appears in its most accomplished iteration, showcasing outstanding finishes:

• All bridges are frosted with castiron microbeads and meticulously beveled by hand.

• Two barrels operate in parallel, each fitted with longer, slimmer springs for optimal unwinding and steady torque, ensuring stable, linear energy transmission. The polished blade minimizes friction, while the newly curved design of the barrel drums flows seamlessly with the movement’s prominent bridges.

• An 18 mm flying tourbillon beating at 4 Hz — a frequency notably higher than that of most tourbillons — delivers maximum chronometric stability. Positioned at 6 o’clock, this mechanical marvel offers an ideal vantage point to admire its mesmerizing rotation.

• Traditional fine adjustment: The fixed-stud tourbillon is regulated using a time-honored approach reserved for Haute Hhorlogerie. The balance wheel’s inertia is precisely adjusted via peripheral weights, resulting in perfectly regular hairspring oscillation and sustained longterm chronometric precision over time.

A standout launch at Watches and Wonders 2024, the Purity Stairway to Heaven movement continues to astonish. Initially presented with two off-center hands on variously colored dials, it now features a central three-hand display. The inclusion of a prominent central second hand adds even more vibrancy to this dynamic movement.

This HMS evolution represents a major technical breakthrough, preserving the three-dimensional architecture of the original Stairway To Heaven movement and showcasing the power of its mechanics:

• - Two barrels operate side by side, in parallel, using a longer, finer spring for stable, linear energy delivery and improved winding efficiency.
• - A ‘stellar’ escapement, placed as if on a "Stairway To Heaven" podium and suspended in mid-air at 4Hz, creates a visually stunning aerial spectacle. The balance wheel has been scaled down to boost its chronometric accuracy.
• - Arched, hand-beveled bridges with innovative shapes are directly integrated, rather than being juxtaposed or adjacent, creating the necessary space for the regulating organ.
• - Extreme skeletonization defines each component, providing visual focal points and requiring machining with uncompromising precision and perfect alignment.
• - The traditional spiral adjustment caters to clients seeking customization and distinctiveness, featuring tiny weights adjusted in reversed symmetry to optimize the spiral’s inertia.
• - Visually, the architecture masterfully manipulates material and void, creating tension among components. The entire mechanism is built around the precise positioning of the gears, designed as if suspended in mid-air.

For the debut of this revolutionary movement, a case that reflects the DNA of the Geneva-based watchmaker was essential. 

A unique chapter
RING

Again, art and functionality blend together perfectly in this latest watch creation by ArtyA. This design features a new chapter ring that further enhances the transparency of the entire piece : laser-engraved inside the upper crystal, it offers both perfect legibility and an unobstructed view of the movement.

The two sword-shaped hands, with brushed and diamond-cut finishes, hover over the architecture, while the sweeping seconds hand in the center adds a distinct dynamic to the living movement.

Inspired by the iconic Curvy barrel-shaped case, one of ArtyA’s emblematic models, the new Wavy case is round with a 40 mm diameter. This outer design perfectly harmonizes with the curves in the movement, expressing a classic and discreet aesthetic that is seemingly simple yet surprisingly complex.

 

Designed by Jérémie Arpa, son of Yvan Arpa, the Wavy sapphire crystal case takes inspiration from the iconic Curvy model. Its barrel shape has been replaced with a round 40 mm design, yet it retains its distinctive lines and reflections.

This new sapphire crystal watch offers unique refractive angles to fully appreciate all aspects of this skeletonized movement.

This recognition by the Academy of the most prestigious horological award highlights the exponential recognition the independent Geneva-based brand has been receiving.

2024 marks a milestone year for ArtyA, which – celebrating its fifteenth anniversary in 2024 – has participated in all the major horological events of the year. This includes its debut at the Watches & Wonders salon, its participation in the OnlyWatch charity auction, and now, its nomination for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

The bold creation selected by the Academy, a majestic 20mm central tourbillon beating at a frequency of 4 Hz, is a true feat of technical and aesthetic balance. It is 5th in-house caliber developed by ArtyA and the 4th to feature a tourbillon. With a tungsten rotor, it is also the brand’s first caliber to feature automatic winding.

The two barrels, mounted in parallel, provide a generous power reserve of over 60 hours. The time display has been entirely reimagined with two peripheral hands that gracefully rotate around the tourbillon.

The ArtyA Chorus Minute Repeater is a direct descendant of the 3-gong minute repeater, regulator, and double-axis tourbillon – the most complex piece ever developed by the Geneva-based manufacture. It inherits its predecessor’s characteristic case, yet is modernized and reduced in size.

The ArtyA Skeleton Minute Repeater is a reinterpretation of the round titanium model created for the celebrated ‘Lion’s Head’ and ‘Death is Calling’ two unique pieces developed specifically to bring out the resonating movement’s exceptional sound. The ArtyA Minute Repeater Movement

The complex mechanism of the minute repeater is designed to tell time through sound. Master watchmakers invented this device in an age when their clients didn’t have the convenience of a light switch: when the candles went out, the only way to tell time was through a chime. On the ArtyA minute repeater movement, the bridges were carefully designed and hand-angled with the help of an acoustics engineer to optimize the propagation of sound waves for power and purity
