Mocha is a word that conjures up delicious, roasted flavours that blend sweetness and intensity. It also evokes the amber colour adorning the new dials in the Chronodate collection. Paired with a multi-material case and the A-500 self-winding chronograph calibre, this chocolate-tinged theme also extends to the large scales of an alligator strap.

Between golden hues and satin-finished textures, the mocha spirit reveals the richness of a refined universe in two limited editions: five red-gold timepieces and twenty-five titanium timepieces.

Since its return in a neo-retro style, Chronodate has been offering a fusion of two different styles: Angelus, the historic brand imbued with Swiss watchmaking heritage, and Angelus, the modern, technical brand with a penchant for extreme complications. This subtle marriage is what defines the collection.

Preparation

These Chronodate Moka editions come in a complex 42.5 mm case that combines carbon composite with either red gold (5N) or titanium (grade 5). The movement is housed in a container machined from a rigid yet lightweight carbon-fibre-based composite. The chronograph pushers, also in carbon composite, are applied directly to this chamber.

Around this container, Angelus has designed an openworked cradle that unites the case middle and lugs in a single line. This ensemble also houses a fixed bezel marked with twelve notches. This modular superstructure makes it possible to offer one or more materials.

The energy emanating from this chamfered profile and from the alternating straight and curved lines gives the Chronodate Moka a full-bodied feel.

On the case back, the conventional markings are engraved in relief, providing a sharp and precise visual contrast that is in harmony with the finishes adorning the movement.

Origins

Chronodate serves as a historical reminder of the brand’s origins, as Angelus became a leading manufacturer of chronographs in the 1930s. These timepieces featured a smaller diameter, in keeping with the taste of the time, and counters that stood out for being particularly large and legible. It is thus only fitting that Angelus is now presenting a Chronodate with large-diameter, easy-to-read counters.

The 30-minute chronograph totaliser and small seconds counter stand out from the dial thanks to their metallic black colour and snailed texture, which contribute to the modernity of the Chronodate design.

The dominant shade – mocha-brown with an amber shimmer – is applied with a fine sunray-brushed effect that is highlighted by the minutes circle. The final additions to the colour palette are the gold-finished applied Arabic numerals and hands filled with luminescent material.

Mechanics

Angelus has fitted these Chronodate Moka models with its own Manufacture chronograph movement, the A-500 calibre, which displays the small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute totaliser at 3 o’clock.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

A pointer-type date display runs around the periphery of the dial, like on the famous original Chronodate that was unveiled in 1942. Its red, openworked arrowhead indicates the colour chosen to adorn the secondary displays: the markings on the chronograph pushers, the tip of the chronograph’s direct-drive seconds hand and the hand on the 30-minute counter are all finished with red lacquer.

The A-500 calibre stands out for its bold, contemporary decoration that is in keeping with both the traditional codes of its history and its current evolution. The sandblasted main plate and bead-blasted bridges highlight the volumes of the movement and are treated with NAC, a surface treatment that modifies the appearance and properties of the metal, giving it an anthracite-grey hue.

The retaining screws are shaped like three-bladed propellers, an Angelus signature that bears witness to the house’s advanced research into aesthetics. Finally, the edges of the main elements are chamfered and satin-finished, offering a subtle play of light that mirrors the matt finishes.

This movement, oscillating at 4 Hz, is driven by a column wheel and a horizontal clutch to reduce its thickness. The A-500 calibre has a power reserve of 60 hours.

Its self-winding system operates by means of an oscillating weight featuring a red-gold segment on the Chronodate Gold version and a tungsten segment on the Chronodate Titanium model.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Its design is taken from the brand’s archives, with a capital letter ‘A’ above a star, evoking a bell and its clapper. It alludes to the early days of Angelus, right at the heart of the mechanism.

ANGELUS – TOURBILLON Flying Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium - Orange Edition

ANGELUSTOURBILLON Flying Tourbillon Skeleton  Titanium Orange Edition 2025

 Flying Tourbillon Titanium, Orange Edition
A zest for precision

The Maison Angelus, founded in 1891 by the Stolz brothers, is proud to announce the Flyling Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium, Orange Edition. For this limited edition of 25 pieces, Angelus presents a vibrant creation where skeletonised mechanics become a canvas for colour and graphic expression.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The satin finish titanium case confronts the deep black of the movement, brought to life by vivid orange accents that highlight the time displays and are echoed on the three interchangeable straps offered. The whole is a symphony of powerful contrasts, enhanced by the three-dimensional beauty of an openwork calibre designed as an interplay of interlocking circles.

A fusion of energies

Every detail of this 42.5 mm timekeeper expresses a facet of the energy that animates it. Chromatic energy, with orange as the signature colour. Customisable energy, with interchangeable straps: black alligator leather for elegance, textured orange rubber for sport or integrated titanium for architectural continuity.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Light energy, revealed by the skeletonised movement. Structural energy, in the layering of levels and depths. And finally, graphic energy, embodied by the three-dimensional architecture of the A-310 calibre.

Energy in harmony

The Flying Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium dial showcases a masterful interplay of volumes. An orange peripheral minute track floats above a black flange adorned with hour markers crafted for the first time by Angelus in monolithic blocks of Super-LumiNova. These luminous markers guarantee optimal readability, even in the dark, and accentuate the contemporary design.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The contrast of colours and materials intensifies with the three straps proposed. The quick-release system provides a smooth transition between elegance, sport and a complete technical aesthetic, offering the wearer true freedom of style.

 Energy in the details

The case’s construction demonstrates the watchmaker’s technical savoir-faire. At its heart is a carbon composite case chamber, exceptionally light yet remarkably rigid, ensuring optimal protection for the movement.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Encasing this technical core, a modular titanium outer cage enhances stability while emphasising the sophisticated mechanical aesthetic. Within the A-310 calibre, Angelus’s signature wheels – each with three openwork double spokes – create an optical choreography leading to the flying tourbillon. Suspended without an upper bridge, the tourbillon is supported by a bridge angled at 160°.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This intentional asymmetry accentuates the visual tension and dynamic balance. As for the retaining screws, they feature the three-blade propeller design – a distinctive stylistic hallmark of the Maison.

Gear train energy

The calibre of the Flying Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium, housed at the heart of the timepiece, is an advanced interpretation of the flying tourbillon skeleton. Designed with a three-dimensional structure, it combines an openwork main plate with lightweight circular bridges to maximise transparency, rigidity and precision.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

At 1 o’clock, a large-diameter barrel ensures a stable distribution of energy, balancing the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, which completes a rotation every minute. Oscillating at a frequency of 4 Hz, the movement offers a 60-hour power reserve, guaranteeing performance and endurance in a skeletonised format that optimises space.

L.A.B, the Angelus manifesto

The Flying Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium, Orange Edition fully embodies the watchmaking philosophy of Angelus L.A.B. – Legacy and Beyond. A real innovation statement, this collection combines high-level technical mastery, bold architecture and clean design to transform mechanics into contemporary artwork.

ANGELUS – Flying Tourbillon Titanium Blue Skeleton Edition

ANGELUSTOURBILLON Flying Tourbillon Titanium Blue Skeleton Edition 2025

 Flying Tourbillon Titanium, Blue Edition
Dynamic suspension

Angelus introduces a new collection that plays with the tension between the circle and openworking. Flying Tourbillon Titanium adopts the architecture of the house’s contemporary case, consisting of a carbon composite container surrounded by a titanium case middle with a notched bezel. Inside, Angelus has installed a new hand-wound movement, the A-310 calibre, equipped with a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Large Arabic numerals float between the sapphire crystal and the PVD-treated bridges, adding rhythm and lightness to Flying Tourbillon Titanium. The inaugural version is clad in blue, from the movement to the flange and the interchangeable alligator-leather and rubber straps.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Flying Tourbillon Titanium marks the second instalment of Angelus’ contemporary series. Two years after the launch of Chronodate, the brand has fitted its now famous and instantly recognisable titanium case with a flying tourbillon calibre. This contemporary vision can be seen in all the aesthetic elements of this 42.5 mm diameter timepiece.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

There is dynamism in the Arabic numerals suspended between the flange and the movement. Dynamism in the interplay between solids and voids. Dynamism in the openings in the movement that allow light to enter. Dynamism in the different levels and depths. And there is dynamism in the way the calibre is structured around juxtaposed circles. It has all been given a blue PVD treatment for this inaugural edition.

Dynamic hues

The design of Flying Tourbillon Titanium is underpinned by the contrast between the coloured bridges, flange and minute circle, on the one hand, and the generous use of white Super-LumiNova on the imposing Arabic numerals, on the other. The overall effect enhances the rhodium plating of the movement’s functional parts.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The openworked three-armed wheels, a signature of Angelus watches, each interlock and lead to the most dynamic element: the flying tourbillon. Its carriage bridge is angled at 160 degrees, creating an asymmetry that further emphasises the technical rhythm of Flying Tourbillon Titanium.

Dynamic layers

The case is made up of two parts. The first – a lightweight, rigid carbon composite container – protects the movement. The second is formed of six main titanium elements that surround the container and keep it in place.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The openworked case middle widens towards the crown, which bears the Angelus logo. The sapphire crystal is surrounded by a 12-notched bezel, while the faceted lugs hold the interchangeable bracelet system in place. Both the single-row titanium bracelet and matte blue alligator leather strap versions of Flying Tourbillon Titanium come with an additional blue rubber strap.

Dynamic gear train

This modular construction houses an updated version of Angelus’ historical A-300 calibre.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The A-310 calibre is built around a series of circles – its mainplate and bridges – and has an openworked structure.  The small seconds at 9 o’clock visually balances the large barrel situated between 12 and 1 o’clock and the flying tourbillon located at 6 o’clock.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

With a comfortable power reserve of 60 hours, the A-310 hand-wound calibre provides Flying Tourbillon Titanium with a mechanism worthy of its aesthetic ambitions and that measures up to Angelus’ history.

ANGELUS – Instrument de Vitesse Chronograph Edition

 Angelus
Instrument de Vitesse
60 Seconds Flat

Instrument de Vitesse, a new opus in the La Fabrique collection, revives the golden age of timed races. This mono-pusher chronograph seems to have been plucked from the dashboard of a vintage GT car.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

It is equipped with a single timing hand – the centre seconds hand – and can time a maximum of one minute. With its sleek and refined retro sports look, Instrument de Vitesse is intended for enthusiasts of watchmaking history and culture.

Housed in a 39-mm steel case, its 4.20 mm manually wound Manufacture calibre ensures that the finished timepiece is less than 10 mm thick. Instrument de Vitesse is available with an ivory-white or ebony-black dial in two limited series of 25 timepieces each.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Appearances can sometimes be deceptive. At first glance, Instrument de Vitesse does not appear to be a classic chronograph. With its three central hands, it looks like a watch... with three hands, but the tachymeter scale running around the outer edge of the dial reveals its chronometric function.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

For this is a chronograph presented in its purest expression, dedicated to timing short bursts – a measuring instrument designed to take average speed readings over a maximum of 60 seconds.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

This, in turn, casts new light on the crown, which also acts as the chronograph’s single push-piece to set the slender centre seconds hand in motion.

Historical

Dedicated to the renaissance and reinterpretation of classic timepieces from Angelus’ past, the La Fabrique collection unveils its second model, following in the footsteps of the Chronographe Médical. Once again, the house draws on its aesthetic heritage and showcases historical design elements and affinities.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

As a result, Angelus has designed a chronograph that seems to belong on the dashboard of a beautiful English or Italian vintage car, with the roar of a V12 engine as its soundscape.

Graphic

Released in two series of 25 timepieces, Instrument de Vitesse is available with a steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter and just 9.27 mm thick. It features a domed dial divided into two functional zones.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The peripheral indications are dedicated to the tachymeter scale, graduated from 60 to 500 with a base metric of 1,000 (typically one kilometre). The more central indications, meanwhile, are designed to display the time, with a finely graduated minutes circle.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

In both cases, the typography – specially chosen for the La Fabrique collection – is clear, contrasting and elegant.

Contrasting

Instrument de Vitesse is available in two versions. he first, on a caramel calfskin strap, features an ebony-black dial with rhodium-plated applied Arabic numerals that stand out with their striking white hue. The second version is presented on a midnight-blue nubuck strap.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Its ivory-white dial is punctuated with applied Arabic numerals outlined in black to create an incredible three-dimensional effect.

The hour and minute hands, together with the applied numerals, are coated with luminescent material.

Mechanics

Inside, Angelus operates its own A5000 chronograph movement. With this new variant, this calibre – the technical stalwart of La Fabrique – once again demonstrates its adaptability.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Presented in this manually wound version without totalisers, it offers a reduced thickness of just 4.20 mm. Set to a frequency of 3 Hz, it functions by way of a column wheel and horizontal clutch in the pure chronograph tradition.
