The Allende meteorite started its journey long before Earth even existed. It traversed the ages, before crashing in Mexico in 1969. In 2025, it has become a watch: available in two versions, the Pioneer Tourbillon Allende Meteorite Mexico transcends time. It bears it, measures it, and gives it a face. Sculpted from a fragment of the Allende meteorite, this timepiece is more than a simple object: it is a gateway. Between the infinite and the material. Between the stars and the wrist. Between Mexico, the land of impact, and Switzerland, the land of watchmaking.

On February 8th, 1969, at dawn, a ball of fire split the sky above the village of Pueblito d’Allende, in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. It was not a firework, or a mirage: it was a meteorite, in freefall after several billion years of travel. The explosion was monumental. Fragments rained down, some as large as melons.

The event was visible to the naked eye, from space… and on Mexican TV channels. But the true spectacle was invisible: the Allende meteorite is older than the Earth, by 27 million years. This carbonaceous chondrite, dated at 4.567 billion years old, is an intact sample of the original matter which formed the solar system. Unaltered, untransformed: a pure remnant from the time when the planets were nothing more than heat and dust.

Composed of chondrules, tiny spheres of silicates formed at high temperature, the Allende meteorite also has mineral inclusions rich in calcium and aluminium, which give the material its sparkling appearance, and complex carbon compounds, including amino acids: the molecules of life, fallen from the sky long before there were any thoughts of breathing.

H. Moser & Cie. pays tribute to this raw material, this vestige of the stars, with a highly exclusive series of 20 unique pieces, christened the Pioneer Tourbillon Allende Meteorite Mexico. This collection has been developed specifically for the Mexican market, in collaboration with the distributor Attila, embodying the brand’s desire to invest in partnerships with a high symbolic value.

For H. Moser & Cie., “Very Rare” is not a decree, it is something built, piece by piece, from a rare dialogue between the skill of craftsmen and a cultural resonance. Mexico was not a country chosen at random: this choice reinforces strong roots; it is a declaration of intent.

The Pioneer Tourbillon Allende Meteorite Mexico is available in two versions, housed in a 42.8-mm case water-resistant to 12 ATM, the first made from 5N red gold and black DLC-treated titanium, and the second from steel, each adorned with an Allende meteorite dial, cut, polished, and subtly magnified.

Each dial began as a fine slice of meteorite, cut using CNC in a liquid medium to preserve its structure. Humidified and carefully observed, each section is selected by eye for its raw beauty, then delicately affixed to a metal plate. Milled, buffed, polished by hand, it gradually reveals its deep lines and the celestial colours of the stone.

As a final touch, the dial is fitted on a brass base by a dial-maker, mirroring the precision of the lapidary with their watchmaking expertise. The details of the meteorite vary due to the cut and polished finish, and the structure of the material itself. The dials are like a piece of sky, frozen in time, impossible to reproduce; each watch is unique.

At 12 o’clock, three green, white and red luminescent dots, nestled in the inner flange, are a subtle nod to the Mexican flag, the country where the meteorite landed, and the centre of this exclusive collaboration.

At the heart of the Pioneer Tourbillon Allende Meteorite Mexico beats the HMC 804 Manufacture calibre, an automatic movement with a one-minute flying tourbillon fitted with a double hairspring. The case back features an engraving exclusive to this edition. It is attached to the wrist with a black rubber strap, perfect for modern-day explorers, whether they are heading for the stars, or simply the city.

This exceptional model is not presented in a simple box. It comes in a black monolith: understated, enigmatic, almost solemn. It is made from MDF, with a metallic black finish, but the magic truly begins when it is opened: a green LED bathes the watch in a sci-fi glow, while the mirrored inside evokes a cosmic void, a fragment suspended in space.

 H. Moser & Cie.'s own and unique take on Haute Horlogerie.
