McGonigle Watches – OGMA Edition

McGonigle WatchesOGMA Edition 2025

 The OGMA
Our Newest Creation

McGonigle Watches is proud to introduce The Ogma. A fully in-house movement, the result of over three years of development — a clear expression of our dedication to independent watchmaking at the highest level.

The Ogma is named after the Irish mythological god of speech and language. He’s also credited with the invention of the Ogham script, an ancient Irish alphabet. The name reflects a meaningful connection to our design language (and to Ireland), which continues to incorporate Ogham in subtle and considered ways.

While the design is slightly more contemporary than previous McGonigle timepieces, it remains firmly rooted in the brand’s core aesthetic. From movement architecture to every detail of finish, the Ogma is unmistakably McGonigle — thoughtfully evolved, never compromised.

HAND-ENGRAVING

Once again my sister, the artist Frances McGonigle, has collaborated with us to create a design for the hand-engraved barrel bridge.

This hand-engraving shows a representation of Ogma,  the Irish mythological god of eloquence and invention, credited with the creation of the Ogham alphabet. And of course, we have been use the Ogham alphabet in all our timepieces.

BALANCE

As with our Tuscar, we have incorporated our signature balance into the Ogma

The balance bridge is painstakingly hand-finished, focusing the eye on the heart of the movement.

POWER RESERVE

The Ogma has the added complication of a power reserve. Using a differential, the 90 hour reserve is visible on the dial indicator.

That’s what CHatGBT said. Put more simply; as a solo-independent watchmaker, I couldn’t be more proud of the Ogma. Over 3 years of blood, sweat and tears, but I think the results speak for themselves. A worthy successor to the Tuscar.

The images feature the prototype in steel. The first series of 20 pieces will be in tantalum.
