The BR‑X5 collection represents a new chapter in the Bell & Ross history, a watch that follows on from the BR 05 and the BR 03, encapsulating a brand-new conception. With its avant-garde and daring design, attractive in its functionality, the BR‑X5 symbolises the developments made by the brand to attract connoisseurs and lovers of fine watchmaking.

Faithful to its aeronautical heritage, the watch features the household “round within the square” design, which allowed the French-born brand to be easily rec‑ognisable since the beginnings.

It is at the heart of the case that lies one of the major assets of this unique collection. The automatic mechanism belongs to the world of manufacturer movements, making craftsmanship an essential feature of these models. The BR-CAL.323 calibre designed by Kenissi, a Swiss specialist movement-maker focussing on exclusivity, raises the BR‑X5 to the heights of precision, an achievement testified by the “Chronometer” certification issued by COSC.

A PRESTIGIOUS MANUFACTURER MOVEMENT DESIGNED BY KENISSI

The result born by the convergence of talents in the house of Bell & Ross and Kenissi, the automatic BR‑CAL.323 calibre is equipped with a personalised oscillating weight – its design is inspired by a sports car rim – and a variable-inertia balance wheel.

Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it has a 70-hour power reserve, known as “weekend proof”, i.e. the watch can be stored for the weekend with peace of mind, knowing it can be worn on Monday morning without having to be rewound.

Another advantage of this manufacturer movement designed with Kenissi lies in its rapid date correction device, offering the freedom to carry out the adjustment at any time, without interfering with the operation of the watch.

A MULTI-MATERIAL CARBON/TITANIUM CASE

The concept of multi-component construction is pushed further with the inclusion of multi-materials, as explained by Jean‑Paul Suchel, Technical and Production Director at Bell & Ross: “Two carbon fibre plates surrounded by the DLC titanium monobloc container housing the movement and integrating the shoulders of the crown”.

Discreet when viewed from the front, this construction reveals itself when turned on its side. We then discover the elaborate architecture of the middle. The entire 41 mm wide case is airtight by four screws.

The lightweight materials, like carbon and titanium, emphasise the high-tech aspects and the high degree of comfort for the wearer, which is further enhanced by the orange rubber strap: fitted with a folding clasp in DLC steel, it is attached to two links independent from the case to ensure perfect ergonomics.

Like the earlier models in steel, the latest BR‑X5 Carbon Orange brings together two functions that are particularly useful in everyday life: an oversized vertical date and the power reserve indicator.

The " HYBRID ORIGINAL ARCTIC " is a Worldtimer watch that showcases the “ Arctic Ocean ”, which depicts the ecological beauty of the region in black and white layers.

INSPIRATION

The "HYBRID ORIGINAL ARCTIC" was inspired by “Our Planet”, the 2019 natural history documentary series produced by Netflix, Silverback Productions and WWF. The documentary presents an unprecedented look at the survival of species at risk in icy worlds, desert grasslands and forest habitats.

Based on "OUR PLANET", ZTAGE features four different watches representing different habitats of animals on the planet, with an aim to promote the spirit of conservation. WWF - Hong Kong is the designated beneficiary of this project.

The northern hemisphere graphic in the center of the watch is a double-layered structure added with Swiss Super-LumiNova.

Complexity of the case

To give the watch a distinctive layering on both sides, the lugs are divided into two separate components, which are inserted and secured from both sides.

The bezel is inserted from top to bottom and the case back from bottom to top, forming a four-sided insertion into the main case at the same time. This design not only creates an eye-catching visual effect, but also opens endless possibilities for future extensions.

All nine components of the case are hand-polished in over 30 steps, creating a luxurious interplay of satin and polished lines.

ICONIC DESIGN

Our goal is to break free from the shackles of traditional watchmaking and become one of the most recognizable designs in the history of watchmaking.

That’s why we gave the watch a "crown-shaped bezel". The bezel is visible from both sides of the watch as a "crown" at the top of the main case, creating a lingering moment of grandeur and mystery.

The crown of the HYBRID ORIGINAL - "ARCTIC" is set with a "luminescent bead", a unique feature of the brand. When viewed at night, the light shines through the crown and sparkles in the evening sky.

Rigorous testing - “Every watch is exceptional”

Prior to watch assembly, the accuracy of the movement is adjusted internally at 5 different angles to ensure that the movement is in the best possible condition, and the accuracy of each movement is strictly limited to +/- 6 seconds per day.

In addition to the precision assembly, we execute the 240-hour official runtime test to make sure everything is in perfect condition.
