With its distinctive square design, inspired by the grilles of classic sports cars, the Série R01 features a 43×36mm stainless steel case with dynamic edges, bevelled at 6 and 12 o’clock for optimal ergonomics and a natural fit on the wrist.

The top of the case displays a vertical brushed finish, while the case sides alternate between horizontal brushing and polished surfaces for a refined contrast.

The entire silhouette is topped with a bevelled sapphire glass that extends the lines of the case with seamless elegance.

The dial of the Série R01 captures the richness of our world, featuring a two-level design with bold vertical lines reminiscent of vintage racing car air vents.

The “Depancel Dashboard” hands, inspired by dashboard gauges, and the track-like indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova® C1 to ensure perfect readability in all conditions.

The Série R01 is powered by the 9120 caliber, an automatic movement with day, date, and 24-hour display functions developed by Japanese manufacturer Miyota.

This legendary chronograph movement—the Valjoux 92—was developed in the 1950s by Valjoux (named after the Vallée de Joux region, the historic center of Swiss watchmaking) as a thinner, more easily manufactured alternative that still retained the column-wheel, a hallmark of high-quality chronographs.

Thanks to Depancel’s initiative, 20 of these movements underwent a rigorous restoration: each was completely disassembled, every component cleaned, the bridges redecorated, followed by careful reassembly. Each step was carried out with absolute precision, honoring traditional craftsmanship while embracing modern technologies to achieve optimum chronograph performance. This painstaking approach preserved the very DNA of the movement born in the 1950s while breathing new life into it.
