CREDOR – Goldfeather Tourbillon Platinum Edition

CREDORGoldfeather Tourbillon "The Birds soaring into the Sky" Lacquer Techniques Urushi by Isshu Tamura Platinum Edition - 2025

Credor soars with the masterful expression of diverse urushi
lacquer techniques in a
new Goldfeather tourbillon.

Since its birth in 1974, Credor has embodied sophisticated craftsmanship and refined elegance. Derived from the French crête d’or, or “crest of gold,” the Credor name has long stood for the highest echelon of watchmaking artistry. The Goldfeather, first launched in 1960, was reborn in 2023 as the Credor Goldfeather, a modern dress watch that strives to embody the qualities of a feather: thin, light, smooth, elegant, and graceful.

Today, the Credor Goldfeather reaches new heights of beauty and performance through a rich combination of urushi lacquer and, for the first time in a Goldfeather watch, a tourbillon.

A harmony of urushi lacquer techniques

The dial captures the image of birds soaring into the sky, their ascent tracing a trajectory from the tourbillon carriage at the nine o’clock position to the Credor logo at 12 o’clock. The birds are brought to life through two techniques that are part of Japanese urushi craftsmanship: raden, in which mother-of-pearl in varying colors is delicately inlaid on the lacquered dial, creating a beautiful shimmer against the dark urushi backdrop; and kirikane, a decorative art that involves cutting gold plate into fine lines or shapes and applying it to surfaces. In creating the dial, urushi artisan Isshu Tamura carefully applies each portion of mother-of-pearl and gold plate, which differ in thickness, making controlled layering essential to achieving harmony between the two.

He then shaves down the surface with extraordinary precision to create an even finish and bring out the ideal color. This meticulous craftsmanship produces a smooth surface and a depth within the thin lacquer layer, creating a gradation of color that arcs across the soft curve of the dial and evokes the boundless beauty of the sky. The gold flecks encircling the tourbillon carriage are crafted in maki-e, a technique in which gold powder is sprinkled onto the lacquer, with the tourbillon’s motion symbolizing the radiant energy of the sun. The tourbillon bridge assumes the shape of a bird in flight with outstretched wings.

The new Caliber 6850 movement, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, features a dynamic design inspired by the primary feathers that generate lift as a bird ascends into the sky. The motif is expressed through a combination of bold and delicate engraving, as well as raden and maki-e, with the design radiating outward from the tourbillon carriage, echoing the story on the dial.

Requiring no screws, the newly developed case achieves a seamless form.

Hand-applied by a dedicated team of engravers, the grooves are carved with tools of different shapes to give each feather a depth of its own, creating a three-dimensional landscape within just 0.15mm. The tempered blue screws and the greenish-blue hue of the outer feather made with raden and maki-e enhance the overall harmony and striking presence of the design. The raden used in this feather is made of yakougai, the shell of the green turban snail.

A new tourbillon movement meets a new Goldfeather case

This timepiece houses the new tourbillon Caliber 6850, the successor to Caliber 6830, which was introduced in 2016. Maintaining the same compact dimensions as Caliber 6830 (25.6mm in diameter and 3.98mm in thickness), the new movement features an enlarged mainspring barrel that extends the power reserve to 60 hours.

The movement is assembled by master watchmaker Katsuo Saito, who in 2023 received the Medal with Yellow Ribbon, an honor bestowed by the Japanese government upon individuals who have become public role models through their diligence and perseverance in their professions. The movement’s thinness, combined with the extremely small components within the tourbillon carriage, demands exceptional skill at every stage of assembly, adjustment, and mounting. The adjustment of parts such as the spring and pallet fork requires a precision of one-hundredth of a millimeter. Adjusting the space between parts also requires a high level of precision.

The Credor logo, name, and Goldfeather letters are rendered in raised maki-e.

While housing a tourbillon movement and featuring Goldfeather’s signature curved form, this creation maintains its slim profile of 8.6mm thanks to a newly developed case. With the mid-case, lugs, and the part of the back that is not sapphire crystal all formed as one part, the design offers a streamlined silhouette. The case is made of Platinum 950, a material that is difficult to polish. Sparing no effort, the case is hand-polished and finished by skilled artisans to ensure smooth surfaces and comfort on the wrist, as well as uncompromising beauty.

This new Goldfeather will be available as a limited edition of 10 starting in October 2025.

Depth-tested. Street-approved

The Fifty Fathoms Tech 45 mm debuts in the permanent collection, with a new interchangeable strap system, expanding its technical repertoire with bold rubber options in classic black, white or vivid orange.

These vibrant colors inject a fresh, lifestyle-driven twist into the iconic diver’s instrument, while preserving all its exceptional tool-watch features.

22 July 2025 – Blancpain’s enduring connection to the Ocean and pioneering spirit runs deep. While firmly rooted in the Maison’s professional diving heritage and unmatched legacy in professional diving timepieces, the new Fifty Fathoms Tech emerges as a thoroughly modern expression of Blancpain’s most famous collection, blending technicity with a new, unexpected dose of style.

Originally conceived as a serious tool watch and diving instrument, the Fifty Fathoms has long been the choice of professional divers, explorers, and underwater photographers.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The Tech variant, housed in Grade 23 brushed titanium, embodies that legacy with a bold 45 mm case diameter, a helium escape valve, and a unidirectional 120-click ceramic bezel optimized for use with gloved hands.

Its absolute black dial absorbs up to 97% of light – an impressive feat ensuring maximum legibility in murky depths or low-light conditions, while creating a striking contrast with the luminescent block-shaped appliques.

“When we developed the Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa in 2023, it came from the question I asked myself: If the Fifty Fathoms was invented today, what would it look like?” says Marc A. Hayek, President & CEO of Blancpain.

Yet Blancpain’s latest chapter writes a new narrative: the tool watch is going lifestyle. In a significant update for 2025, the Fifty Fathoms Tech introduces a fully interchangeable strap system, empowering wearers to switch styles in seconds, no tools required.

Additionally, Blancpain offers straps in multiple lengths, a crucial detail for divers who may wear the watch over a wetsuit, while also making it perfect for everyday wear on a bare wrist.

Color, too, is making waves. Beyond classic black rubber, Blancpain is releasing two new summer-ready hues: a crisp white and a vibrant orange.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The latter isn’t just an aesthetic flourish; it matches the Tech’s orange central seconds hand and TECH inscription on the dial, proving that even the most serious diving instruments can embrace personality and fun.

“Then, in 2025, came the Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC (Blancpain Ocean Commitment), making that modern technology more wearable. Now, I love that we can bring color and style into the Tech line, proving that a serious diver’s watch can also have a lifestyle side.”

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

Of course, the Fifty Fathoms Tech retains its mechanical credentials. Powering the watch is the automatic calibre 1315A, a 4 Hz movement widely respected among collectors for its robust 120-hour power reserve, precision timekeeping, and beautifully finished architecture.

The sapphire case-back offers a view of the movement’s decorations, underscoring Blancpain’s dedication to Haute Horlogerie even in the Maison’s most utilitarian creations.

In short, the Fifty Fathoms Tech bridges worlds: as capable in the abyss as it is on dry land. It’s a pure diver’s tool, reborn as a polyvalent companion for any occasion – from exploring coral reefs to strolling through a summer cityscape or making a statement far above sea level.

IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN EXTENDS ITS COLORS OF TOP GUN COLLECTION WITH A SUMMERY LIGHT BLUE SHADE

Schaffhausen, July 21, 2025: Adding a new ceramic color to its Colors of TOP GUN collection, IWC Schaffhausen introduces the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar. The watch features a ceramic case in a new color named TOP GUN Miramar, a light blue shade developed by IWC and Pantone®

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The case is paired with a matching dial and rubber strap in the same hue. In addition, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer launches a new version of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 in stainless steel featuring a TOP GUN Miramar dial and rubber strap. Both chronographs are powered by the movements from the IWC-manufactured 69000 caliber family, offering a 46-hour power reserve.

Building on IWC’s extensive ceramic expertise, the Colors of TOP GUN collection comprises ceramic watches in different shades. Inspired by the world of naval aviation and developed in collaboration with Pantone®, these colors include Mojave Desert, Lake Tahoe, Woodland, Oceana and Jet Black. The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer now presents a new color called TOP GUN Miramar. It is inspired by the light blue t-shirts that TOPGUN instructors wear under their flight suits. Having gone through a rigorous selection and intensive training process, they are considered some of the most skilled pilots and instructors.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409) features a light blue ceramic case, complemented by a dial and a waterrepellent rubber strap in the same color.

The blue hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® to enhance legibility in low-light conditions. The process of manufacturing a colored ceramic watch is a remarkable feat of material engineering. Zirconium oxide is mixed with different metallic oxides in a precisely defined ratio.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

As the color changes during the sintering process, numerous trials are needed to achieve exactly the desired result. One specific challenge was transferring the new ceramic color to other components of the watch, such as the dial and the rubber strap. Each part is made of materials with unique properties and requires specific manufacturing processes.

The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117) marks the first time IWC Schaffhausen introduces a Pantone® color in a stainless steel watch. The chronograph features a 41-millimeter stainless steel case, combined with a TOP GUN Miramar blue dial and rubber strap. The rhodium-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova® enhance legibility.

A HIGH-PRECISION CHRONOGRAPH MOVEMENT INSIDE

Both chronographs are powered by movements from the IWC-manufactured 69000 caliber family. These chronograph movements have been engineered with a focus on robustness, reliability and precision. The column-wheel design ensures that the switching sequences are clearly defined, providing a distinct tactile feedback when the buttons are pushed.

The efficient double-pawl winding system generates a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring. A signature feature is the IWC-typical vertical dial layout, which places the stopped minutes at 12 o’clock for easy and intuitive reading.

Click, to see the large size. BIG FOTO

The stainless steel version includes an open case back, offering a view of the movement, while the ceramic variant has a titanium case back engraved with the iconic “TOPGUN” logo. Additionally, it is equipped with a soft-iron inner case that protects the movement from magnetic fields.

Both models feature the IWC-developed EasX-CHANGE® system. This innovative feature allows the wearer to easily remove the strap from the spring bar and replace it with another one by simply pressing a button integrated into the strap.

As this system requires no tools, exchanging the strap or bracelet is quick and easy.
