Jaquet Droz - Petite Heure Minute Relief Dragon

Jaquet Droz - Petite Heure Minute Relief Dragon NEW

Particular interest of the watch company Jaquet Droz to China and its culture is often manifested in the products of this brand, paying homage to the centuries-old traditions and specific culture of the Middle Kingdom.

The 2012-nd year is started by the company with the release of a collection devoted to one of the most vivid symbols of that culture - the dragon that occupies a special place in Asian culture. Embodiment of a dragon design on the watch dial - a symbol of this year, was received by the public in a quite warm way, and it seemed the collection Petite Heure Minute Dragon Majestic Beijing had run out of "dragon" theme.
However, for the international exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the company has "prepared" another landmark dragon, symbolizing one of the most ancient and honorable Asian legends.
The Petite Heure Minute Relief Dragon watch from the collection of Les Ateliers d'Art is the novelty of this year, which the company has presented at the BaselWorld 2012.

Unlike 2011 when the mood was apparently much more subdued, this time the fair opened to much more confident forecasts and larger crowds. Swiss watch exports grew 19 percent in 2011 to reach $21 billion, powered largely by China (up 48 percent) and Asia (both Hong Kong and Singapore up by 28 percent). Asia for the first time also accounted for over half the value of Swiss exports.
The brand also heavily emphasizes the importance of China in its early history, when its products were one of the earliest to be imported and traded during the Qing dynasty during the 18th century.
The main feature of the watch became a miniature embossed dragon, located on the dial, made of precious metal - red gold.
This watch has its own history. As it turns out, in the 18th century, the same watch company in anticipation of the dragon year the company represented the watch with this motif and the "magic" pearls, symbolizing the power and wisdom of the emperor, introducing Swiss watches in the Chinese market. The watch, displayed at the exhibition BaselWorld 2012 - an echo of this old story.

The dragon depicted on the watch dial Petite Heure Minute Relief Dragon - originally a small sculpture, executed with incredible skill. With an excellent way, giving all the grandeur of the ancient mythical creature floating in the vast ocean of nacre, from which is made of a watch dial, the dragon represents the action as a small personal theater. With incredible skill is made every curve of a mythical creature which holds in its paws, "magical" gem - a symbol of power and wisdom, the "movement" of each wave of the dial’s pearl "ocean".

Another notable detail of the incredible dragon - it's its tail, which is visible even from the back of the case: if the mythical dragon passes through the watch.
The case of the original model is made with special care: the material for its creation was the red gold. As the creators of the watch, only the gold in red shade can properly set off a complex composition of the dial, covered with a special crystal, which thickness - a separate subject of study.
The Les Ateliers d'Art watch is issued in a limited edition of 88 items, which can certainly lead to a large collection value of the model.
