DOVER, NJ, JUNE 7, 2018 – Casio G-SHOCK announces the on-sale date of its first-ever Connected MT-G timepieces, first revealed at Baselworld 2018. Part of the brand’s luxury MT-G men’s line, the newest models of silver with black and red accents (MTGB1000-1A) and all black with red accents (MTGB1000B-1A) will be available for purchase beginning in July 2018.

Boasting Bluetooth® capabilities and BLE time-sync, the timepieces keep the most accurate time anywhere in the world using the Connected Engine module, which connects to a time server via a paired smartphone or using radio wave time-calibration signals.

The watch connects to the G-SHOCK Connected smartphone app to enable the user to easily set the world time and alarms from the app. The app also collects and analyzes usage data from the timepiece to prompt various responses, such as reminding the user to charge the watch and warning about possible magnetic interference.

The two new timepieces boast a polished look, complete with a slimmer case and re-designed Core Guard Structure linking the bezel, back cover and band connection pieces to form a box frame for enhanced strength.

The inner case is constructed of a carbon fiber reinforced resin. In addition, highly abrasion resistant sapphire crystal is used to ensure clear visibility, the metal parts feature either a polished or hairline finish for an overall distinctive look.

NEW CORE GUARD STRUCTURE
An inner case is installed in a box-shaped frame formed by screws that securely connect the bezel, case back and band connection pieces. A stronger structure is realized by absorbing shocks with the exterior instead of the core.

BAND STRUCTURE
Fine-resin parts are firmly fixed by screws to the base of the thick, soft urethane band, which is then securely attached to the case by metal parts and large bolts. This unique, newly developed tough structure has reinforced the band connection section, where metal and resin intersect

The watches also come with premium features such as tough solar technology and Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping, which provides accurate timekeeping virtually anywhere via radio signals from up to six different transmitters worldwide.

DOWNSIZING
Refinement of the exterior design by improving the connection structure and developing a smaller module has reduced the case to 55.4mm vertically (12:00-6:00 axis), 51.92mm horizontally (3:00-9:00 axis), and 14.39mm in thickness.

PREMIUM METAL FINISHING
Sallaz polishing, said to be the ultimate polishing technology, produces exceptionally smooth mirror-finished surfaces on sloping parts of metal products. Other processing techniques such as hairline, knurling (crown) and honing (screw shafts) processing are also included in the thoroughly detailed finishing conducted by the skilled hands of craftsmen.
