Burlington - Mustang MK Limited Edition

Burlington - Mustang MK Limited Edition

The name Burlington may refer to many a thing besides a company of the Kayser-Roth Corporation. In case of the Burlington Watch Company, there are actually traces of an earlier mail order trade company which supplied pocket watches mostly manufactured by the Illinois Watch Company, which was sold to the Hamilton Watch Company around 1927. The Burlington tradinc company also imported and signed Swiss watches manufactured by H. Moser & Cie.

Now I know not if the Burlington Watch Company discussed here has any ties with the Burlington Watch Co. of yester, but I really like the branding and product design of the new company.

Assembled by hand in the US, the watches use state-of-the-Art components: cases are made in Germany, dials are made by Lüm-Tec™ and the UNITAS movements are made by ETA in Switzerland.
Take the watch pictured above, the Mustang MK: there is a myriad of watches inpired by German aviator timepieces, yet the Burlington designer managed to give a new twist to the original look. The minutes and hours hands are see-through and coated with luminous compound (I’m guessing some A-grade Super-Luminova™), and the counter for seconds has tiny lookalike screws that make it look like the part of an aircraft dashboard.

The Burlington Watch Company specializes in producing small runs of hand assembled, unique watches. Every watch is assembled and regulated. Burlington Watch Company only uses the highest quality materials from Germany, Switzerland and the USA.

L’Duchen presents Space Collection for men

For the world watch and jewellery show - BaselWorld 2012 - L’Duchen presents a new line of timepieces for men under the name Space Collection. The line includes four models based on self-winding Soprod movement with a see-through crystal on back, slim case and open balance.

New watches, equipped with self-winding Soprod A10 or Soprod A10-BV movement, are united with space theme and called Supernova, Saturn, Eclipse, and Galaxie. The plate of new models is decorated with Perlage, its rotor has classic pattern “Cote de Geneve”. The see-through crystal back of the case reveals the complexity of the movement and beveled and polished edges of its elements. Supernova and Saturn models have a see-through dial with open balance.

All new models have stainless steel cases (316L) with PVD-coating and sapphire crystals with antireflective coating. L’Duchen logo is embossed on the crown. They are available on calf leather strap with butterfly folding buckle with logo. The dial of the watches has applied indexes and finely decorated with guilloche.

“We try to combine all best materials and techniques of watchmaking art in this watch and reveal the heart of the Soprod movement from the front side of the watch as well as from the back side,” says L’Duchen representatives.

L’Duchen provides three years warranty for the watches.
